  3. OK I had a similar complaint, and swore the noise was coming from the front axle when in fact it is from the rear posi.

I chewed-ass on my local dealer, telling them that there was a serious issue with the front axle (there was, that's a different story though) and so we all went for a ride. I drove to a nearby abandoned restaraunt parking lot, and started lapping the building at about 9-12 mph. Every turn (right or left) you can hear a low groaning noise beginning when the truck is already 1/2-way into the turn, and continuing until out of the turn and after discussing with the driveline tech that rode with us I agree this in my case is most definitely a noisy rear posi unit or bad carrier bearings. The dealer was nice enough to tell me "come back at 60K-miles and we'll tear it down and fix it" but I have decided that I will fix it on my own and replace the G80 with a Torsen.

  5. Well i have a right front end noise. Sounds like a brake pad slightly rubbing against the rotor but that is not the noise. But that is what it sounds like .Went to 1 dealer and shop forman says that is normal for awd. not buying that but it could be true. went to 2nd dealer and had shop forman drive and says same thing oh it is normal. i started to quiz al little and he says well maybe we should change the transfer case oil. this might take care of this noise. well its not a rear possi clunking noise i said like a typical posi clutch noise are you sure just changing the fluid is the answer, well he says i'am pretty sure it will take care of this issue.

Well sss budies please help with anwsers or trouble shootig before i go get the fluid changed.

thanks jeff (redrocker) 04 awd 13,000 miles

  6. sounds like a good event. I might try and make it out. Only an 8 hour trip using Yahoo Maps. With the way I drive I can probably make it in 7 hrs or less

Sounds great, at this time i will go to the show. How about some more info, hotel rooms would we get any kind of discount with a group. Is the tent set up in the show or not etc. I know that there is alot to see at theses shows

  7. Yes it did very much. Where is sign and design? I'm in Shelby twp. It sounds like you live in MI. I'm gonna give schram a ring and then try to get the same sticker made. I'm pretty sure it's a sticker over the emblem. I guess I could try to rip one off to see. Thanks a lot though for the help redrocker.

I live on cass lake in oakland connty, travel to shelby all the time. One of my good friends lives at land of the lakes at 23mile and schenneir. sign and desing is in petoskey mi which is where i lived for a long time. ask for reeb if he still works there he will hook you up with any style you like ( he is quit a car guy) phn # 231-348-9256 measure the center cap perfectly and tell him what your after. good luck PS it will proably be a 2-part decal meening crome back-ground and what ever u choose for the main decal ss vette bowtail etc

  8. Hi this is my first post. I have a question I'm sure someone will be able to answer. I looked up the part # for spare center caps because I lost one. The question is I can't find one that says SS on it. Mine all say ss and the spare part is just a bowtie. Is the SS centercap aftermarket? I have a 2003 and I bought it that way. All four are the same color as the rim and have black ss tags in the middle.

The other issue is if it is aftermarket I can't find one to match for the life of me. I looked on ebay etc etc, all over the internet. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi jeff here ( redrocker ) first if you need center cap call schram auto in pontiac mi they purchase every thing that gm wrecks ,test , everything, i'll bet they have a center cap phn # 800-462-9292 Now the center cap emblem i'll bet a very good grafix design shop made a decal for your application. i had a set of custom rims but hated the center cap and had a friend at sign & design make me up a center cap decal and you would never know!!! But the key is to use a high end decal sticker for this & someone that knows there stuff... hope this helps you....Jeff (redrocker)
