  1. As far as difficulty how hard would you say it is to rebuild?? i have never messed wtih differentials but i am very mechanically inclined. the only thing that worries me is if I would have to set the backlash or shim it. But with a decent set of directions i belive it would be something I would be able to do and save my self the 800+ in labor.
  2. Where did you order all of parts through and how much did they run ya if you don't mind me askin?? I might be doing this here pretty soon.
  3. I have had mine north of 140+ racing my friend in his audi TT he told me he was at 135 when i passed him and I pulled away from him pretty easily in his defense he was havin boost issues. At the speed I was goin my hood was flexin up and down pretty good My tuned pcm is governed at 150mph and i could not imagine getting these bricks up that fast!!
  4. do you mount them straight to the frame or on the braket???
  5. what exactly is the right and the wrong way??? cause the rear of my truck is pretty stiff/bouncey. are the pancake bumpstomps that came with the djm kits any good??
  6. That almost looks like someone let their dog to close to your truck. sorry to hear!!!
  7. Plus one for a great product. Anyone even thinking about these fans just go ahead and get them!!! These are by far one of the easiest and best mods I have done to my truck thus far!!!! I have had my fans on for almost 10K trouble free miles and as far as the install goes it took me less than an hour to do the whole install including installing a new alternator and the harness is amazing and design it is truley and plug and play then GO!!! Great Product Steve glad to see that you are still making them!!
  8. There is a 06 silver birch SS for sale at a near by Chevy dealership in clinton, Mi. It is 2wd has 66K miles on it and has cloth interior. Overall the truck is really good shape it appears to be stock except for a line-x spray in liner and a tonneau cover. I was not able to see what they were asking for it as the dealership was closed but one of the window stickers said base market value of 21K so i would be assuming somewhere in that neighborhood.
  9. Lookin nice man!!!! like i said let me know if you need help all you really need for the hangers are cut off wheel or grinder and an air hammer with a chisel and punch attachments. made life real easy for me!!
  10. just did a 3/4 and i have stock size tires i only rub at full lock turns on the plastic wheel well gaurd. With the cranked down torsion bars the front end will ride a little spongey(sp?) or soft. The wheel well gap will look probably close to the stock gap considering the tire is about 2 inches shorter.
  11. well first off +1 for him being from MI and secondly i am so jealous that you have a garage cause i don't and i hate leaveing my truck out in the elements!!! I am always down for turning wrenches. The keys cost right around 120 i believe. might hit you up on the offer for the garage space though i might be havin to pull my front diff here soon to get it rebulit but i will know for sure this weekend if that is where my howl/whine is coming from. Your cousin got any updated pictures of the truck?? Is he a member yet?? By the way I always loved the interior on that truck!!
  12. seriously a bullet hole I would think it is time to relocate!!!
  13. you can have shackles wtihout hangers, you just can't have hangers without shackles cause it will throw off your pinoin angle. that will finish the back end of your truck up then for the front you can just turn the torsion bars but if you need more you caould always get torsion keys that way you will have plenty of adjustment room. If you need any help putting on the kit just shoot me a pm since i am just down the road and i just did this a couple of weeks back. on a side not does your cousin live around here?? justin
  14. looks good justin throw up pics when you get the. Are the example pictures on the website of them fabricating them on your truck??? did you go with a straight through magnaflow muffler??
  15. I am taking mine back into the shop tomorrow to see if i got a faulty wheel bearing because I recently just had my driverside wheel bearing replaced now i have started hearing a whine coming from my front end that was not there before. the whine can be heard while under very light throttle basically enough to maintain current speed. the whine seems to be louder at slower speeds but is present still at highway speeds while maintaining light throttle pressure, at certain speeds it also causes a vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel. I am hoping it is not the front diff I've got almost 95K on it know and I changed all of the fluids front and rear approx. 20K miles ago with mobil 1 syn gear lube and there were minor shavings on the front drain plug but nothing major. How hard is it to rebuild the front diff?? I am very mechanically inclined as long as i have a decent set of instructions or is this something i should just leave to the pros??
  16. my DJM 3/4 i just installed ran me 760 with belltech street performer shocks. hit up NORCALSS (tony) he is very knowledgeable when it comes to dropping our trucks.
  17. wow dylan truck looks amazing!!! looks like the clear coat is still wet. amazing wish i lived closer!!
  18. Look on the back side of the grille ( like trhough the hood latch area and see it may just be a bolt over style in this case you would be able to just unbolt it to remove it the you could paint it off of the truck and reinstall it when you are done.
  19. How exactly are they supposed to go on?? i was not aware of this and i have one that is sitting funny and I would like to fix it before it blows off.
  20. tony, have you ever heard of or had any trouble with the driveshaft rubbing on the crossmember just behind the transmission?? i crawled under my truck the other day and my driveshaft has black marks from the paint transferin from the cross member to the driveshaft. I will see if I can get a picture of the clearence between the two tomorrow.
  21. Tony, Is this SSS and AWD drive model?? Are you able to go that low in front with an AWD i thought there were issues with the cv axle's binding??
  22. here is a link for part numbers bob. DJM Silverado part #'s
  23. With this bypass done does the door chime still work correctly??Would you use a connecting harness for standard non bose radio installation?? I might have to look into this cause I have an aftermarket h/u and I would like to install subs but the bose adapter kit eats up both of the line out rca's.
  24. looks great man I like the hidden skull on the last pic
