  1. That's 2 for the PROBOX. Looks like I'm leaning that way. Thanks for the input. Now, what kinda subs???
  2. Welcome, I just joined a few days ago.
  3. What's up man? I've heard alot about your truck and that sucks that some shop screwed up the initial build. I'm pretty sure you and Art will make it right. I really want to see your truck and see how the STS performs for you. I should get the truck back next week. I'm out of town this weekend. Got more pics of the truck? -Ron
  4. Dude, That is my all time dream car. Actually, I want a '67 RS/SS Camaro. I don't have the time nor the money it would take to build something like that. I really want to do most of it myself instead of having someone else do it. Thanks
  5. That is a MEAN sounding IROC! I love those Camaros (83-92). Other than the first gens, I love that generation. I used to have an '89 IROC-Z vert that was not fast but was PIMP as hell. Then I had a '92 RS with every imaginable bolt on from Turbo City off of Katella. My RS ran a 13.89's all day at Terminal Island on drag slicks. Man, I miss that car. Traded that in for a 96 Z28, modded that like crazy and went 4.10's for the first time and that opened up my eyes regarding the best mod for the buck. That bad boy ran low 13's at Carlsbad. Sold that and got into a '00 Z28SS. That thing was built to go fast. Ran high 12's at Carlsbad and Fontana on NOS. Now I'm in the Vette. Screen name stands for the color of the Vette and how it is going to be a monster when she' s all said and done. I'm planning on pushing @ 650-700hp to the rear wheels on a forged 427 or built L98. It all depends on funds. That is the reason why the SS was bought.
  6. My bad! In the PM I was asking what your screen name referred to. I couldn't help but think it meant 12" woofs in the truck. I am looking into getting a box w/ subs but can't make up my mind. I was just asking what you were running system wise. I'll see if I can find it and re-send??? I hope your buddy's truck is up and running soon. He's running an STS system also, right? How's your ride doing? That thing looks PIMP as F%*k! Later.
  7. Dude, Weren't you helping one of your buddies in Hemet with a rebuild? I thought you guys were working on a crappy build from some shop and they threw in some dished pistons when it called for flats. My bad if I was wrong. Thanks for the props on the Vette.
  8. Thanks for the WELCOME. Rob, I hope to have the truck back by the 2nd to make that G2G and put some faces with screen names. I may just roll up in the Vette if the truck is not ready just to meet all of you. Art, I sent you a PM. How's your buddies project coming along? Hope everything is working out. I'm itching to drive the snot out of it but I need to be patient so I don't go breaking stuff on it and then have to spend more money on her. I'll keep all of you posted.
  9. Oops, almost forgot...A post ain't worth squat without pics, so here goes: Shots of the Vette
  10. The Big, Black HAYNSS is now making it's home in Southern CA. The truck arrived Monday from Sacramento and is now in Irvine getting the twice over from my mechanic. For those of you who are not familiar with Makani's old truck, now mine; here is a list of the mods: - Cast Iron 408ci - EFI Live Flashscan scan and tune - Lunati Pro Billet Stroker Kit w/Wiseco Forged Pistons (Dished) - 9.1:1 compression - Jessel Roller Rockers - 242/242 .560 lsa 114 custom comp cam - STS GT70 turbo - Custom Methanol Tank - NOS 75 wet shot - Double Roller Timing Chain - LS-6 Oil Pump - ARP Head Studs - Titanium retainers - CompR lifters - 60lb injectors - Cometic Head Gaskets - TOG mid-length headers - WCCH Stage II 6.0 Heads w/2.02 & 1.6 - Custom built 4L65E - Setrab tranny cooler - Transgo HD shift kit w/corvette servo - Yank TT3000 stall - Dual Walbro GSS340 in-tank fuel pumps - Hawk pads - Baer Eradispeed plus one - Magnaflow 3" with gutted cats - '05 Electric Fans - DMH Electric Cutout I'm pulling the NOS kit out of it since the bottle is mounted under the truck and that scares me. It will be a daily driver so I don't need to be squeezing the juice on the way to the kid's football game. Wait, maybe I might... My Vette mechanic will be re-tuning to take the beautiful So.Cal. smog into consideration . Actually, we will be tuning it down for reliability and drivability. I will have the boost gauge set for wife driving and then one for Mustang spanking driving. I live in Chino Hills and work in Santa Fe Springs. I've already used this forum to find the truck, buy the truck and get information on these trucks. Thanks to all who have assisted me on this. Major props to Makani (HAYNSS) for keeping this truck in as beautiful condition as it is. This truck is in amazing shape for being almost 5 years old. I will keep all of you posted as to what my mechanic finds and what we change. -Ron
  11. Still contemplating JL Audio Stealth Boxes vs. the Probox. At least I've narrowed it down to 2 selections. Anyone care to give their honest opinion on these 2 or any other boxes for that matter. I researched for several hours last night and other than a custom build I found these 2 options to be the best. I listen to all kinds of music and I like it loud and musical. I don't want to spend a whole lotta $$$, but I will spend to get the best without sacrificing the back seat or going the bed/cab pass through route. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. -Ron
  12. Looking to purchase these for my 2003 SSS. Anyone have a pair for sale? Anyone know where the best place to get a pair for cheap? I believe Holty had a pair in his truck but I saw the posts back in June when he was selling. Any other box worth looking at. I really do not want to go the bed/cab pass through route. Any and all assistance is appreciated. Thanks -Ron
  13. What all is still for sale? I'm local. @ 25 minutes West of Moreno Valley. I bought my Harley Davidson Road King Custom from Quaid which is pretty close to you. I used to deliver with a small package carrier and part of my route was the Moreno Valley, Hemet area. Let me know. Thanks, Ron
  14. Howzit, Makani? Damn right I got a GOOD DEAL! Damn those tonneau covers are bank? I gotta protect the bats, clubs and kids' gear. I'm still thinking about it. Sprayed99, I wish I could tell them all to Kick Rocks, but then they start begging and groveling. I've been calling all the dealers around me and they are all within a $100 of each other. We shall see.
  15. ShockX5, Thanks for the heads up, I don't think the cold is goign to play a factor out here. Sprayed99, I only wish I could say I would use the bed for sitting on the tailgate, but the reality of it is...Those with a truck will usually get asked to haul stuff. Plus I would like to leave my golf clubs, softball and basketball gear along with my kids' sports gear in the truck so I don't have to unload all the damn time. I need the security because the truck will sleep outside while the Vette and Suburban get dibs on the garage. I am pricing the top out and DAMN, Highway Flippin' Robbery!!! I'll keep all of you posted as to what happens. Thanks, Ron
  16. ss intimidator 3, What brand and model is that on your BADASS truck? If you don't mind, what did you pay for it? Thanks
  17. 67speedsta, The Truxedo one is the one I would get if I went the soft top route. Thanks for your feedback. I just would not feel comfortable leaving all my sports equipment in there without a sturdier cover. With the cost of golf clubs and softball bats, I could not afford to replace them. I don't want to hear all the I told you so's and be without all my gear. I am looking really hard into a hard cover. Turbocoop, Thanks for the heads up. The hard cover is expensive but I would be really pissed if I went soft cover and then someone else was using my clubs at the range. I would rather save up and then get it when I can or use the almighty credit card. I do agree, the garage door look kinda sucks but it's better than getting one of them hard covers and having to take it off if I wanted to throw something large in the back. The truck is black, just like yours, so it would match a little better. Ya gotta send me some pics. The truck is being shipped down from Sacramento this week sometime. I bought if from a forum member (HaynSS). I already have a huge wish list formed, so I come to the experts, you guys. I'll keep looking and let you know what I decide. I hope to get more members to chime in. -Ron
  18. Just bought an SS (2003) without a tonneau cover. I don't really haul stuff but would like the security of leaving my clubs, bats, and b-ball gear back there without having to unload daily. I do haul the occasional couch, TV, tree, and of course when you get a truck, everyone comes out of the woodwork needing assistance hauling junk. I do want a hard cover and like the idea of the electic ones (Pace-Setter, I believe). Can any of you with tonneau covers chime in with what you think and some of your experiences with each. I just want as much information before pulling the trigger on one. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron

  20. 12'srock, That be me on that Frickin' 91. I work in Santa Fe Springs and live in Chino Hills so I have to use that 91 along with the millions of others everyday. I carpool so the Vette only sees it 2-3 times/week. Hopefully you will see another SS on the 91 half of the time. I need to haul my kids, softball gear, basketball gear, fish tank equipment, etc. Packing the Vette is getting old. What is your daily driver? If it's your red SS, I'll be on the lookout for it. Keep in touch. I will let you know when I get an SS. It should be soon. I have 3 that I am seriously looking at right now. I've contacted all 3 and awaiting there responses. One in Sacramento, one in Riverside and one in TX. There is not that many to choose from here down in Southern CA. Later, Ron
  21. Thanks drclaw for the Thumbs Up on the C6, I think she's pretty cool myself.. Riddler, your information is right on from what I've learned on this forum. I am actually searching for a 2003, S/C'd, AWD, any color, truck right now. I have information on a lot of 2004's and 2005's but they are pretty far away from Southern CA. I want low mileage and all the goodies. Wish me luck...
  22. CoolBlueSS, Has the truck sold? I'm Southern CA. and looking to get into an SS to compliment the C6. Let me know, I am ready to buy if the deal is right. Thanks, Ron.
  23. 12'srock, Yes, I do live in Southern Ca. Chino Hills to be exact. I am @ 20 minutes west of Perris. Thanks for all the help and information. I will definately look into getting a 2003. It "should" be cheaper and I hope to find one already blown with all the goodies. I like the idea of having AWD. I have the Vette for all out performance. When it's wet outside or I have the kids, I would love to blow the doors off of some Mustang or WRX from a dig light to light. I will keep y'all posted as to what I find. I can tell you this much, there is not that much to look at in Southern CA. -Ron
