  1. I have a flt level 7... every time i put my foot into it the old butt muscle gets tight and i find myself mumbling .... please hold ....please hold. I know it's only a matter of time, i hope it holds another summer riding the fence as to how much that 60 is going to hold... i would rather have the confidence of knowing that the tranny will hold every time i got on it .... and right now i don't
  2. X2 on the 4l80 swap.... that will be the next mod i do. Are you still making the electric fan kits? I have had mine for a long time no problems at all. I have a buddy that was asking were i bought mine.
  3. I'm not suggesting he stays away from a cathedral port head... just suggesting a bigger runner.. 245 minimum to let that bigger cubed motor breathe
  4. I think the 230 maybe a little on the small side,a good friend of mine (Shadowsniper) ran the trickflow with the 225 runners and wished he would have gone bigger runners and he is still stock cubes. I'm far from an expert on the subject... but I know he puts countless hours of research in before he purchased them... but out grew them in a hurry. I'm hoping he will chime in. I had the same heads on my last motor and the engine builder told me they were to small for a 7.0 liter motor, and recomended the ported ls3 heads.
  5. Welcome....and as posted, hide your money
  6. A new stall is something to concider as well. Mine is way lose, flashes somewhere in the 4200 range, and i feel like I'm sitting on the converter. I am more than likely going to switch to something like a 3400 so i can harness some more of the power and torque lower in the power band
  7. Make sure you figure out what heads your gonna use before you pick your cam... some ported ls3 heads or ls7 will require a different cam than a cathedral port heads... GI SS is right.. put some really nice heads on that motor..if you go cathedral port look into Trick Flow... they make some really nice, great flowing heads...if you go rectangle port look into Wegner motor sports.. I have a set of there ported ls3 heads on my 427, and made 700 hp at the crank. Just my humble opinion and good luck on your build..... Without the proper head and cam setup that 427 won't even come close to it's full potential.
  8. Looks great Dan.... I need a detail like that on my truck
  9. Cool..... i like it better without all the stickers on it ..... are taking the light bar of the rear window... or leaving it?? Nice find btw
  10. If you do a 408 build the bottom end of your motor would be new... i think i would bo that before i would even consider putting a blower on it.. just my humble opinion
  11. Wow ...loaded question lol Welcome to the site Paul. Opinions on the upgrades your asking about will vary from person to person. Forget the hand held programers and get yourself a tune from one of the vendors on here. Zippy, Blackbear or Wheatly... Longtube headers such as ARH, Kooks, pacesetters, and OBX are all pretty popular here. As far as the exhaust goes the stock pipes you have flow really well, find yourself a dual in dual out muffler you like... I've had the magnaflow when I first bought the truck and I liked it... I now have the corsa catback,,, sounds good but at the power level I'm running it sounds raspy at wide open throttle. Forget the throttle body spacer ...waste of money... search through the bolt on section, bulid section etc, and there is a world of info you can read about in the millions of post that have been made about the stuff you have asked about. Good luck and hide your wallet... the mod bug bites really hard here on SSS.com
