    Lowering

just keep in mind that changing the torsion bar adjustment not only changes the ride height but can change the handeling of the truck because your adjusting the spring rate when you adjust them. lowering the front via torsion bars takes away spring rate and u may feal more body roll in the front and may not like the way the nose will seem to float on high speed cornering. for the bang for the buck the 1 inch front drop keys, rear adjustable hangers a saturday morning on a lift down to the alignment shop after lunch and at the track by supper time. you can do it for under 500 including the parts, alignment and nite at the races.
  4. try cleaning ur throttle body... i get similar problems with customers almost every day, a can of good brake clean and a soft brush. just try not to use too much cleaner and wipe off the residue when you r done not positive if this is ur problem but it may be... good luck with ur truck
  5. gm bitches about doing it under the emmision law but by federal regulation it is all covered... and welding the cat back as long as its behind the cat they cant sat anything, only make you responsible for rewelding the system after cats get replaced if they r needed... gm always has new software updates for every module in there vehicles... most of them just give the computer nuts a job in a office the important ones would get you a letter in the mail from your dealer
  6. i have the same issue. only thing i found was a loose connection at the grond located under the carpet on the passengers side of the front floor near the center console. i went the extra step and sanded the paint off the floor where the ground goes.... seems to have solved my issue
  7. dont feal bad... my 03 z71 is on tranny number 6 and my 04 SS is on tranny number 2.....had the current one in each truck built in brimfeild ma. at c&r transmission...not quite the flt but for what i could afford they get the job done... another thing i learned was that running amsoil in my trans i dropped the temps by 20 degrees or so then a week or so after switchen the fluid i went all 1/2 in lines with dash 8 hardware and completley bypassed the factory cooler and radiator and went with the b&m 30K gvw coolers...new stock components flowed 2.4 gpm all my new shit flows 3.6 gpm and from the little i know about auto trans. i do know they dont like heat or poor flow... good luck on ur next trans.
  8. little off topic of gas prices for my ss but took the ramp truck down to get fuel friday, 4.389 a gallon here on cape cod, the best part was the guy in front of me left a jar of vasoline on the pump
  9. i keep going through left rear marker lamps, tried everything, i give up just decided to throw a few extra in the glove box... touching on your drl lights u c blown all the time, most came stock with a 3157 bulb that gm found not to be enough, there is a bulletin that says to replace them with 4157 bulbs. always a good idea to replace them in pairs... and as for the hid i hate when people r driving at me with them, seems like i have been welding all day with no sheild when i c them
  10. gm did release a updated shaft in september of 07 and are paying for it however dealers arn't exactly advertising this fact and i had to fight for my freebie and i work for a dealership. another tip u may want to try is to install a greese fitting in the black part of the collar towards the middle, everytime you change your oil throw some greese in it i have had good luck with this method however if you go nuts with the grease gun it van come out the end of the shaft by ur feet while ur driving.
