  1. Okay so I'm having some issues with my Silverados starting ability, the battery tested good, the alternator tested good. However, when I try to turn the vehicle over it just clicks, like the battery is dead...

The only way to start it is to jump start the vehicle with another, and it will run and stay running. When I try to turn the vehicle off and turn it right back on sometimes it starts right up other times it just clicks again...

The battery I currently have is an interstate mt-75, I'm wondering if maybe it has a dead cell, but it should still try to crank the truck over I would assume. It's reading it has 12 + volts when the truck is not running.

Aftermarket electrical components, remote start, Recon LED tail lights, LMC wiring harness for 4 headlights on high beam, and I added a battery kill switch to the positive cable ( to try and stop this problem, but obviously it didn't work)

Anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this problem...?

  2. I gotta agree with Zippy as well... 2006 is my last new GM year, I have a 2006 Silverado and soon a 2006 GTO, the only car I might buy, and I mean ONLY car would be a used G8 GT. just because I like Holden. GM has been slowly killing themselves... and it's a shame.

I personally am a huge Holden fan, so I'd love to see more Holden designs hit our streets, but I heard Holden and Ford of Australia are being shut down...

  3. I was looking at the ANZO halo headlamps, then saw the 07-up U shaped lights, now they're planning to make them for the 03-06 (07 Classic) trucks, I personally love them. Curious if anyone has a bad taste in their mouth from ANZO, I was planning to get tail lights from them as well.

  4. I assume the SS would have similar braking setup, but on the 06 (and 05 I think) they put drums on the rear and bigger front calipers. I blew out my rear end recently and since then have bulit myself a disc brake rear end, (around $1300) and I love it, new powerstop red calipers look sweet, but I'd like to upgrade the fronts to the same as the rear, I have been looking and the Powerstop S4728 says it will fit on Summit, but lists the year 1999 to 2006, I'm just a little worried if I get the right rotor size the caliper won't fit right...

anyone used Powerstop? I really wanted to go Baer, but their so expensive, awesome product I guess...

  5. Any body have one? running one? supercharged one?

These motors are rated at 460hp, and the only thing I see different than the stock LQ4 is the cam (listed as: CUSTOM) the compression ratio is the same so I would think my MP112 would have no problems on it.

I'd be curious what a supercharged or turbocharged one would dyno at...

Bang for the buck ($3,599), if their good motors, then I would buy these ILO a LS1 / LS2 / LS3 / LS6 any day.

  6. Hey Guys & Gals,

I got me a leaking moonroof in my 06, we've had non-stop rain for over 24 hours here in Va, and my headliner is soaked from the drivers door to the little speaker for on star, up to the moonroof trim...

at first I though it was my window since I leave them cracked due to the visors I have, nope rolled them up last night headliner was starting to dry out and this morning soaked again...

neddless to say I am kinda livid... wear are the drains on these things, I'm wondering if they need cleaning since you know, I've never done it.

    Thanks

  7. Yeah, he says the lower the ratio to him means lower gears. dumb I know. :loser:

but would it be better to go to 3.73 gear from 3.42? is it worth is really or would I even notice a difference... and yes I am 4WD so the front must match the rear I know.

the disc brakes is the big concern really to me. it should bolt up and fit but with the master cylinder have the pressure for it? :dunno:

  8. My rear end is toast, loud clunk when I try to turn it, I assume the spider gears or posi is jacked. I have a z71 but would like to know what the spline count is for my axles. anyone know?

    I know I have 3.42 gears.

A guy around here has a rear end out of a 03 or 04 Silverado with disc brakes (mine are drums) will this bolt right up for the most part, brakes work and all?.

any and ALL info you guys could share would be awesome, The guy wants like $200 for the rear end I believe (I'd have to double check).

Also would it be better to go to 3.73 gears? or Stock 3.42? or even go lower to a 3.09 or something. guy up here says go with a smaller ratio.
