  1. I haven't heard of the pump doing that before. What i have seen is clutch chatter on the Z71 with the Auto feature. Simple fluid change to the GM Auto Trac 2 lube fixes that. On the SS it has a oil pump just like the Z71, but with the AWD transfer case it uses a Viscous coupler. All four wheels pull. You can't disconnect the front drive shaft and drive it. It won't move. The only problem i have seen in the SS case is the plannetary set in them has plastic thrust washers under and over each pinion. it chews them up and spits them out. Plannets are very $$$.
  2. You need to check your codes. It may be a 1-2 shift solenoid stuck on or the valve is stuck. You might get lucky and get by for a while longer. It is on its way out with 105K!!
  3. Thanks for the praises. I am the Automatic builder @ RPM. You are right. I am always truing to refine and improve the design we have come up with. Ya have to in order to continue to provide quality items. I remember that trans build by FLT. They build good stuff. Everybody has their own little tricks that work in the 4L60's!
  4. The 96 will have the cooler lines in the wrong location ( no center lube). Any 99 up will work for the cooler lines and bolt pattern.
  5. Yep its done!! Probaly got broken hard parts. Check out RPM!
  6. I love the A-team music . The turbo kit looked cleanly installed not hacked. Not Bad!
  7. I am looking for poly Front diff bushings and having no luck. I found some for a s-10 but nothing for the silverado. does anyone make them and if so WHO!!??
  8. Ya, I replaced them with new OEM mounts. The origianls were ok. Changed them anyway. What a nightmare to change!!!! The noise / vibration / rattle is different now. I does it on hard acceleration with out NO2 now. I have also just changed all the a-arm bushings with Poly bushings. No difference. It leaves the front Diff, half shaft, or wheel bearing. Phantom noises suck!! I wish it would just break so i can find it!!
  9. The mouse new when to abandon ship. He knew the ride was gana get crazy!! Good story!
  10. I need motor mounts. Good polyurthane ones but i cant find any at all for these trucks. I have check every company i can think of. Does any one make any?? Does anyone have any??? My mounts look OK but when i spray (N2O) and it sounds like someone is hitting the frame with a hammer ( It is definatly NOT engine knock!!) The left ft grinds and rattles sitting still. It just appered after a 12.15 pass. It Does it the hole time at the track. Half way home from the track, about 10 MI. The noises go away and i can drive the crap out of it with no problems. Just after i spray, it does it!!! Any ideas? I am thinking its the motor mounts but not convinced!
  11. Welcome! Nice to see a local on here. Im from New Castle area east of Indy!
  12. It must be on rails!!!! That is wicked cool!! I want to drive it!
  13. I have the shackel and spindle kit. Not as low as i wanted and got a weird shimmy @ 70 + while accelerating. I even used 2 degree wedges. I think i am switching to the leafs.
  14. Thanks!! Here is the link to the engine swap: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47315 Just givin u hell chase. Your truck is VERY impresive. I cant wait to see the new ET's with the new setup. I wanted to do a LS7 but i comes down to the $$$.
  15. UPDATE New time of 11.72 @ 117.09 Everything is tuned in right and it is killer!!
  16. Ran it with a LS2 fogger plate and a 200 shot!!! 11.724 @ 117.09 !!!! What a rush! Not bad for a mostly stock bottom end 6.2L. All i have is ARP rod bolts and head bolts. I am planning on a Pro-Charger with a little shot on that. I want your spot on the list 04 Chase. I dont think my current engine has it. Stock pistons wont take much more spray. I keep tryin to talk my boss into letting me drop his Warhawk in and break some SS truck records. It made 1100 HP @ the wheels (C6 Corvette) with a F1 procharger before it ran out of fuel volume. A F2 and more fuel i could see it making 1500+ HP!!! He won't go for it.
  17. On September 4, 2009 RPM Transmissions is renting the track in Muncie, IN. All are welcome. For more info on the event check out the web site at www.rpmtransmissions.com . There will be photos of last years event. Its a great time and lots of fast cars and trucks. Hope to see ya their!!
  18. DO NOT USE AN ADDITIVE!!!! Worse thing ever invented. You will cause more problems with additives. It turns to a varnish when it finaly goes and gums up valves and wont come off the internals. Additives cant repair clutches. 9 times out of 10 its a clutch issue in a 65e. A 4l65e uses reusable molded pistons. Reverse and Low/rev are the only replaceable seals. The pistons will turn to jelly and be junked by additives. Older trans it can help limp by but not much. It just hides the real problems.
  19. I have a vibration starting at about 75/80 mph and i feel it on hard acceleration all the way from 0. its smooth at crusing speeds. It wasn't their before i did the belltech drop kit. Got the 2 degree shim and it changed to 80/85 and still on hard accel. I moved the pinion downward. I do drag the truck and i am often @ or above 85. not sure what to do. do i need more shim degree? Any ideas?
