Bought the ebay drilled rotors ( the Canadian zinc plated gold ones) 3 or 4 years ago. Still in good shape.

Corvette, hands down.

This sounds sketchy at best to me.

Ive been reading posts on here for quite a while now. Ive heard the name Zippy quite often. How does it work for a tune? I was under the impression you had to bring it to someone with a dyno and they basically run it, and adjust the computer accordingly? I also heard of someone "sending you a tune". Im assuming on a flash drive or programmer or something? Never done this before....
He would send you a tune on a PCM. Then you just replace yours with the one he sends. Give him a call and also ask about HPTuners. That might be something you'd be interested in. After having this expensive build done you'd want the tune to be spot on.
-
2wd is more work than its worth. Besides, a 408 with AWD will rip your face off from a dig if its set up properly. Hit up zippy for a tune, he'll get that thing dialed right in. As for a new mechanic, I couldn't tell ya bud.

If you have drone, then those are probably the fake cats. They're just resonators. some did come with actually cats though. You'd have to pull one and see. Corsa is good for killing drone.

Those look sweet!

Did it all at the same time. Fireman is right a 3600 would be better.

What about this one?

That's not a bad choice. I'm running near the same 224/228 .581 .588 114LSA with -2* valve overlap

Looks like normal times for a totally stock SSS at some elevation.

Can't do that in Cali man... you will get sued by them or their family if you kill them and they WILL win in that state :/ Plus, if you were protecting your stuff only and not in immediate/imminent danger of death then you will go to jail for murder.
Oh, so it is like Canada then. That's crazy.
-
That's why I tell everyone in SoCal to get a Ravelco. It stopped my truck from being stolen the 3rd time.
A third time?! Shoot them! Lol that's why you live in America. I wish we could do that here in Canada... The right to protect your shit!

The best deals I've found are at Walmart ... Mine puts out their ammo deliveries for Tue & Thur mornings ... But you have to go early, as it goes quick (before 8am). I'm averaging $0.05 a round, for .22LR ...
Sounds like you guys are paying Canadian prices for ammo. Which I find odd because usually things are cheaper in the states. I've put a few thousand rounds through my 10/22 and it's pretty good out to 65-75 yards, after that I go to my savage mark ll FVXP. If you're close to the border and there's a cabelas on the Canadian side, it might be worth a crossing to stock up. My local cabelas has more ammo than you could carry.

the sheer weight of the truck is destructive.

The issue with this I feel is that once you get into the bigger power (which we'll all get into if we continue down the mod road) is that you'll have too short of a gear. With a FI set up and 4.56/4.88s 1st gear will be useless and you'll end up going back to 4.10s or even taller, or re gearing the Trans.

There was a guy on here that did a 2500 diesel set up into a SS clone. I'd imagine that would be much easier.
-
Your table must be set low. Custom tune will fix that up for you.
-
Are you wot at 2500rpm? Like when you launch hard? That would fall under the throttle % table.
-
It can be adjusted however you want, just input a set amount. Here's the table

I'd question spinning the AC pump above 5200 though. Besides, when you smash the go peddle the AC disables for a reason, to give you all the power you're wanting (and also maybe to save the pump from revs it's not meant for).
-
Yeah, it is throttle related. There is a table in the PCM at that controls when the AC is turned off. For example my AC is commanded off at over 5200rpm. I believe there is also a table commanding the AC off at certain percentages of throttle. Example %90 open = commanded shut off.

Yup, cowl it or just paint the stocker. Too bad you aren't closer to me. You could just have my stocker.
-
Never had a issue with this in the last 13 years.
Not trying to clash with you bud, but that's just how I was taught and practiced with most hydraulic systems.
-
If the wheels are not off the ground you will airate the oil. The pump with push the air and the oil at the same time at high pressure when you turn the steering wheel, mixing the two. It will seem full, but because hydraulic oil holds air so well it will retain the air bubbles for several hours. After a good 6 or so hours it will separate again, and air will be in the system. Hydraulics 101, don't load the system when purging air. GM says to lift the wheels for a reason....

Headers make the biggest difference (compared to a cat back set up). Honestly a 14.6 is decent for your mods if you had a DA of 1100'
