What they said. Used for proper alignment.

Why do people do that kind of stupid sh!t? Completely ridiculous. Did you bang somebodies wife or something?
-
Have you weighed the 22s with rubber? I'm curious what they weigh.

Stock rims? This link might help. Was posted pretty recently. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/87540-800-awhp-ss-need-tie-rod-recommendations/?hl=%2Btie+%2Brods&do=findComment&comment=976106

If you got a lead foot, I hope you got a fat wallet. 5000+ pounds to move in a hurry requires a lot of energy. Don't expect much in the way of mpg.
-
What he said ^^^ and what track? I hope you get the DA man, good luck! A fast NA truck is good stuff.
-
No, odds are its a single bolt cam and it'll have the cam position sensor in the front. Not worth the hassle.
-
Hop onto the HPTuners site and go to the forum section. Lots of logs and data there including tunes for you to look at and learn from.
-
Good stuff get that puppy dialed in and post some times! Should be a runner.

Don't let them take you to the bank. It's already got 4l65e hard parts, because it is a 4l65e!
Yeah mine got dropped off today, waiting to hear what they find and then I'll go from there. I will say that I absolutely do not trust big chain transmission shops, especially for performance rebuilds. Trust is earned and the only way you can trust a transmission rebuild is if you don't have to go back and have it re-built lol. I've at least got a friend of friend doing mine so it isn't going to break the bank, upgrading hard parts and everything to 4l65e stuff and soft parts will also be upgraded, $600 isn't too shabby
Unless he swapped to a 80E already. I know his truck has obviously been extensively modified. some of the older members who know that truck more intimately might know what it's got.

Good lord! that's scary there are people allowed to work on vehicles that would do that. I too would be completely pissed. You couldve just paid me a flight down there/back and I would've wrenched for you for free and just considered it a vacation. Get my white ass out of the snow for a bit lol

90mm LS3 TB with a Xlink.

Don't know what to tell ya bud, Trans gearing maybe. There was another fella on here saying he had 4.10s from the factory in his 2wd, but it just WASN'T a option. 3.73s are what it's got from GM.
-
If they're original, they'll be 3.73s. If they're 4.10s they've been swapped in. Awd=4.10 2wd=3.73 I think the 2wds should've got 4.10s though, it's still a heavy truck.
Looks damn good man.
-
Lol he would prolly get me his has cai, cam, stall, longtubes, full exhaust, and is getting a tune.
Mines shorty headers full exhaust, and cai, and 4.10's
Sweet 4.10s in a 2wd, it must peel pretty easily.

Yeah man a grand is a little much.

Well, if you can get the tune dialed in I'm sure it'll idle okay and what not. The "drivability" I'm talking about will be the peaky power band you're going to have. How often are you running over 4k rpm? Now be reasonable about it, say you're crusing down the street and you look down, im guessing you won't be near 4000. I'm not trying to argue, just trying to make you a little bit more aware. That engine is going to seem really high strung. Even most of the TBSS guys wouldn't run that cam and they have more compression and are 500lb lighter to boot. I'd MAYBE consider that for a stroker cam. But I'd probably stick to high 22Xs even in a stroker for these trucks because the TQ would be a nice, flat 500-550lb/tq+ table top of awesomeness haha
-
You'll need to stalk up 4000k or more. Driveablility will be.... Questionable. These things aren't camaros.
-
I had 228k miles on mine and pulled it for a 408. Was running fine when I pulled it. They'll go for a long time.
I think you got your money's worth 223k? Good lord that is a lot of miles......
-
Well that sucks. Why run it without a tune in the first place? It's kind of important with a mod like that.
-
Since you're completely rebuilding it, 408 stroker. That should make you happy for a bit.
-
I presume you're talking about the hi ram. Without a good cam, don't bother. They like to flow really well up high in the rpm range and feel a touch lazy down low. If you aren't going to utilize the high flow of the intake with big cubes, high revs, or boost, all you're left with is lazy down low.
-
That's a big stick.
-
I agree, drone blows, not a fan of rasp either. So why the cam and no stall? Because of the weight limit a aftermarket torque converter is rated to tow for? Or is it a little cam that makes good torque and works with the stock converter?
