Sorry but what exactly is the "big 3 upgrade"
-
What?! I thought it was 3" stock. I crawled under mine and measured with long toothed micrometer. its all 3". I did buy it used though....

So what your saying is I need L92 heads too
-
I found this on eBay http://cgi.ebay.ca/6-0-6-2-GM-CHEVY-L92-LS3-SQUARE-PORT-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-/250698024416?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a5ec445e0#ht_1534wt_689
just wondering If the Square ports would work and if it would help the engine breath better at all. It seems kinda tall right?

If that's one of your front tires then it's not the alignment. I thought it was too but I brought it in and both upper ball joints were sooooooo gone there was tons of play. My tires were a little worse too. They actually had chunks missing:-) lol and yours wore right where mine did. Just something you might want to look into.

Aww man I wanna go to the track on Sunday! But I have to go back to fort mac for work lemme know how you do now that you have the K&N CAI.

I was wondering what our trucks would run up here. We're fairly high up in elevation aren't we?
I just looked it up were about 2400 feet about sea level. I'm not sure but I think you should be pulling better numbers than that:-(

Oh my god dude! I would KILL him! Don't go to gm. They'll rob you blind. I needed a new rear bumper cover... $800 installed I hope you makeout alright.

Hey good to see another local-ish Canadian (Rochester AB here). Look up paulguy. He is also in Edmonton too. We might have enough people for a meet soon hey 03?
-
so are our trucks Multiple-disk clutch or transmission bands? I got a feeling multiple-disk clutch even though it only mentioned servos with a transmission band type.
-
I hate asking easy questions but I was taught any question is a good question if your serious. anyway how do servos work and what do they do? I'm pretty much dead in the water when it comes to transmissions.

I have the opposite problem. My heater won't stay on, but only when it's cold! I freeze my balls off at like -20c because my damn seats won't stay on and it's only my (drivers) seat that won't stay on. Passengers fine.

"hold on, that might be my VTEC rep!" haha priceless... That and "the turbo gets so hot, flames just shoot out a here" lmao!

Wow good read! The T-case couplings are pretty complex. Amazing what they can take! I'm taking a millwright apprenticeship and we learned about planetary G-boxs this year in school they're actually quiet easy to service but thanks to the viscous coupling I guess we can't. I seen some planetary G-boxs at work rated for 1 000 000lb/tq!

Damnit thought this was going to be a no tape easy job. Well I better break out the masking tape.
-
So do I just grind them off or just punch them out?

I read a post a couple days ago about taking the grill out and painting it black (damn sexy btw). So I go outside and i take the 7 pop tabs off the shroud cover and remove it. So now I try to take just the grey grill out, but it REALLY doesn't want to let go of the red piece the bowtie sits in. So I'm like screw it I'll take it all out and see what's up. So I remove the whole thing and turn it around and I'm like, what the hell?! All the little tabs that come through the red piece the bowtie sits in and go into the grey grill are melted closed! I don't think this is from factory. I did by it used... Anyone else find this? Wish I could post pics with my IPhone.

Yup got a ticket and two warnings at the same time. Ticket for tail lights $56 and a warning for headlight covers and not being able to see my reflectors in the front and rear. That's the only trouble I've had and they've been on for about a year.

Synthetic Oil?
in General SS
Posted
Nice write up guys. I had a good read. I'm currently running mobile 1 with a K&N 1007 filter. No problems. I used to run Q horsepower with a fram filter, but after hearing some bad news about the fram filters. I switched. I've got 197 000km with no major problems. (water pump seal and upper ball joints) otherwise no other parts replaced:-) these truck hold together pretty good. But seriously SYNTHEIC is worth every penny! Esppecially if your in a climate with swinging temperatures, synthetic is less affected by cold and heat, (viscosity wise) as well as just being a badass oil in general.
