  1. Found this on an old thread. could be an idea http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_inf...69f46fdfb4e6dd5
  2. Down here by my place. A local shop called Clear Lake Best Transmission. Its on Nasa prkway about 1/2 a mile past the Endeavor building
  3. ""* servos - in simplest terms, a servo is a hydraulic plunger, or a part that will move when you pump fluid into it. When a servo is "energized" it clamps down on a band or clutch, which in turn grabs the intended gear; when it is de-energized it relaxes and releases its grip on the gear. GM makes an improved 2nd gear servo (used in the Corvette) that makes the 2nd gear friction material clamp down on 2nd gear with much more force eliminating clutch slippage. Also, several aftermarket companies make servos from billet aluminum capable of delivering serious pressures ("billet servos"), making the band or clutch grab its gear with a true death grip."" Taken from this thread ... http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25890 As far as a part number I dont know. But I am sure you can find it much cheaper on ebay!
  4. Awesome, now just waiting on the tune and it will be on
  5. Wheatley did my in-person tune and did the same thing as you stated. I sat in the passenger seat and he went to work on the laptop. Drove around stopped a few times until it was right where he wanted it.
  6. Just got the truck back from the shop after having a transgo kit / vette servo and accumulator pistons. I did not get on it from the shop home but from what I felt...I like! It is defiantly now a very quick and firmer shift. I will have to see what she will do once I get it retuned. In addition I am just wondering if I should go easy on it for the first 100miles or so. The shop did not say anything about going easy on it but I have a little voice in my head saying there are new parts in there and they may need to break in first. Any input on this would be appreciated. And a big thanks to all who helped me piece all of the parts together! Much appreciated!
  7. Welcome! what part of Houston are you in?
  8. I got the shift kit from Summit and the servo off of ebay. I should be geting the grand total today but he said 150 for the shift kit and an extra 25 for the servo. Should be around 200 hopefully since I supplied my own fluid. edit: the kit was about 78 bucks from summit and the servo was 15 off ebay. You may also want to look at getting aluminum accumulator pistons as well, here is a thread you can read over and see which ones you need. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60486
  9. I live on the coast here in TX and they have a few surface rust spots but nothing major.
  10. I am running Pacesetters with ceramic coating and magnaflow high flow cats and I really like it. I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions just letting you know what works for me. Best of luck man!
  11. Not getting into any of the above arguments. Just putting my 2 cents out there. Last post on this topic!
  12. Before this thread gets locked, I would say go ahead and do it. I guess just be mindful if you are going to be running it in a very cold climate.
  13. 4.95 mil is easy... It's the fuel that will kill you
  14. So I am getting my shift kit / vette servo installed this Wednesday. I just need to know how much fluid I will need for it. I just want to try and save a few bucks and get it myself instead of having the shop provide it. Thanks in advance guys
  15. haha no prob. And don't feel dumb I have burned my fingers on headers many times and even thought one day it would be a good idea to grab a rotor after a long drive...
  16. It's probably just loose. On my old truck I had the same thing happen. Kept hearing a loud ticking sound and it turned out to be a lose spark plug..
  17. Is it tight enough? Can you hear a loud ticking noise while its running?
  18. There is a guy down here in Kemah that I went to who said if I planned on running no cats ..."thats fine, it's between you and the law." So there is at least one person in TX who will do it lol
  19. About a year and 1/2 back I saw a dude on a bike about to run... Started burning out, lost control while letting off and hit the ground hard. About 30min later Life-Flight landed to take him to the hospital. Anything can happen..
