  1. I originally bought it right after college to be a normal truck along with my dd (98 grand prix daytona edition), but I sold the GP for a 98 Trans Am Vert WS6 M6 so that became the garage queen and the truck became my dd. I couldn't stand that so I bought a '05 CTS-V for my dd so the truck could sit. Now it only gets used for pulling my four-wheelers, winter driving, or when I wanna be in the best looking truck in town! ;)

  2. I have some that are painted to match but I haven't installed them, probably won't either. I don't think my lowered sport truck would look good with mud flaps.

I'm sure they wouldn't/don't look good, but I'm just trying to keep road spray/grime off my truck as much as possible. What type of flaps were they to begin with before you had them painted?

  3. Dont run any as the truck doesnt see winter but were yours contoured or normal flaps? Im suprised they cracked considering some snowbankws I went through in 2005. I would personally run the Husky Liners...

I would say contoured? They are solid (as in little to no bend) without much give as compared with a typical flimsy mudflap. They do (did) have a white bowtie on them.

CadillacForums - research for my V

CamAmTalk and CanAmForum - CanAm 4wheeler info

    PolarisATVForum - Polaris 4wheeler info

I don't get to all of them as much as I would like to, but I get around once a week or so...

  5. The first generation CTSV's are surely a performance sedan however if you can swing it, the 2nd gen are animals! The 07's got the better rear which were horrible in the earlier models. The 07 also has the LS3 vs the earlier 5.7L LS6. Either one respond to modifications well if that is your poison.

...I have been considering a new CTS V myself :wink2:

Not trying to be overly technical, but the 2006 and 2007s both received the LS2 (not 3) which was a 6.0 that still was rated at the same 400 hp as the 2004 and 2005s. I've owned my 2005 for about a year now and really enjoy the car overall, although there are a few things that I wish were different. I have a good buddy who owns a 2007 as well and truthfully cannot tell any difference between the two while driving them (besides his feeling tighter due to it being like new). Krambo does have a point re: the rear diff but many were warrantied to another gen. Although I would definitely love to upgrade to the 556hp monster someday! Hope ya find what you're lookin for....

  6. Completly agreed except, Machida no longer has the belt and Jon "bones" Jones has tremendous talent! I would love to see Jones vs AS, I dont ever doubt AS however I believe Jones style would have AS in real trouble. GSP vs AS would be over rated im afraid neither are finishers.

Jones would definitely give AS tons of trouble, he is basically a younger, fresher version of the Spider. Plus although AS is regarded as the best pound for pound fighter, 185 is extremely weak (actually almost the same can be said for 170) and we can all see the toughest class is the 205. Does AS really want to put himself in that position at this stage of his career to have to work through all the talent at 205? My guess is not. Sure he may consider jumping up and taking a fight or two, but I really don't see him making a true run at the belt.

GSP and AS could be overrated, but it would be an unbelievable card for the UFC to promote. Lets be honest, it wouldn't be a big deal for GSP to move up as his normal carrying weight is around 190-192. I truthfully just have a hard time seeing either one of them commit as it would tarnish their legacy and it really does seem they are both scared of that.

  7. Couture hangs it up now after 14+ years in the UFC and at 47 years old, who could blame him? That straight kick by Machida was sick. One of the best knockouts I've seen in quite some time.

Hominick gave Aldo all he really wanted and I hope they let these two fight again in the future. Hominick's cuts under his left eye were wicked and that swelling on his head almost became another head... either way, Aldo looked very tired after round 2 and beatable.

The main event was very weak imo as yes it went the whole 5, but it was actually fairly boring. Neither GSP or Shields are known as tremendous strikers but yet the entire 5 rounds were the two of them standing toe to toe and basically boxing. Shields is supposed to be the best of the best at this weight in wrestling/grappling and jiu-jitsu and yet he rarely made any spirited attempt to take GSP down or wrestle with him at all. Haven't heard anything new on GSP's eye, but he was obviously very bothered by it - if he is able to see clearly what he was punching at, I would not have been surprised to see him knock Shields out.

GSP definitely has nothing left to prove at 170. BJ Penn made the attempt to move up after having nothing left to prove @ 155 to see how he could compete with GSP @ 170 - he failed miserably, but I respected him for giving it a chance. Anderson Silva has not been challenged all that much at 185 and has moved up to 205 (Irvin and Forrest Griffin) and had tremendous results but vows he will not chase the the belt @ 205 due to his relationship/friendship with Machida. It really only makes sense for the UFC to really chase this fight between GSP and the Spider because AS is not getting any younger (36) and has discussed retirement in the past.

All in all, it was a very good card, even with a subpar main event.

  8. Used to have a '99 Polaris RMK 600 99600rmk.jpgBut I had to give it up because of the job.

    I really would like to get either a 800 Rush Pro-R or a new 800 Switchback Pro-R...

Wide open til you see God, then brake!

  9. Yup Black or Stealth Gray. But it will still be some time, I'm saving up for it this time!

Saving? Ah c'mon, just go buy one and worry how to pay for it later! :) Well I hope ya find the right one for ya and when ya get ready to get serious let me know if ya want any help looking.

  10. :nono: Au Contraire... GM changed their software in the 2010 & 2011 PCMs; when you use EFILive to change transmission parameters and flash your tune everything 'appears' to happen correctly, but when you drive the vehicle the transmission acts exactly like it did before tuning. Delco has apparently changed the transmission segment of their software in the 2010+ year PCMs. This problem is not limited to the CTS-V, also the GMT-900 trucks too - you can tune the motor, but attemting to tune the transmission segment will not cause any errors but those changes are ignored by the PCM. :icon_bs:

    Mr. P.

PS - this problem is NOT present in the E67s prior to 2010, HENCE why I said I am shopping for a early 2009 CTS-V sedan - it's fully tuneable with EFILive.

Well P there is a Black '09 with only 14k miles for $47k in Wisky on Autotrader. What color you thinkin about getting? Black or Stealth Gray are my favs, although the Redlines are pretty sick as well.

  11. I was actually just thinking to myself the other day, "I wonder if they're going to come out with a final F&F movie to tie out the way the last one ended." And sure enough, they are. I'll go see it just like I've gone to every other one (minus Tokyo Drift) just because. Honestly its kinda cool how they have everyone back for this - kinda like a final hurrah. And yes, the girls are very worth it. Jordana Brewster is smokin.

  12. I would definitely be one to say investing in one IS WELL WORTH IT! I only have a '05, but jeez its a rocket for a four door. Have a buddy who has a '07 and although we've cruised a little bit, we haven't ever run em to see if there is much difference (LS6 vs the LS2). This coming summer I plan on running it against my '98 TA WS6 just to see if the TA can keep up even with both having top speeds listed in the 160s. I just picked mine up in June '10 so I'll hang on to this one for awhile (66k miles), but after a few years go by, I have to get one with 556hp. The power to weight ratio for a "luxury" sedan is ridiculous. If any of you end up getting one, please pass along some pictures! Also, Mr. P, go manual, waaayy too much fun.

  13. No - everyone in the midwest is saving-up to go to the national GTG in KC on Memorial Day; I would suggest late summer, because when it is hotter than hell here in the south a 2-day Black Hills cruise would be just fantastic.

The last I spoke with Derek was just before they had their twins; I think he got caught-up in that fatherhood change of life, he has a very demanding job anyways and now I'm sure his time is very consumed. But you're right we need to visit, Derek and his wife are terriffic people. Shame he had to sell that truck.

    Mr. P. :)

Oh yeah, KC... Memorial Day is usually a hectic time for me so I don't know if I can make that one work or not? Late summer would be fine as last time we did the last weekend of August and it was very nice. If we worked around that time frame again, I would think it would be best because it would be late enough for nice weather and to miss the Rally, unless everyone wants to try to mingle in amongst that? Just a thought! We have time with this one! :)

  14. I'm interested - I want to see the black hills!

    Mr. P. :)

I'm down. Got family on both ends of the state.

Awesome. Would the spring work...? The Black Hills is sweet in the winter time, but tax season is fast approaching which means I won't see light until April 18th... So if it works for after that, we can work on getting something lined up.

Mr P - you used to keep in contact with Derek right? Have you heard from him at all?

drove from kansas city in my SSS to the last one

Yes, yes you did. Would you be interested in doing it again and bringing some KS folk with ya?

  15. The SD guys always have an annual Black Hills cruise just before bike week

    Mr. P. :)

Annual before bike week? When did this start? Only one I've ever known about was the one we did in Aug '09 and there were others talked about, but never took place as far as I know? After Derek left the site I haven't really seen too much interest on here about SoDak meets....

I'm here in Mobridge and there is another guy here in town with a red one. Haven't seen any others around this part of South Dakota. I have see 2 reds, a black and a blue with a tribal striping kit in Sioux Falls and also passed a few on I29, but otherwise I don't know of any besides of the guys out in the hills.

I'd be cool with trying to get another cruise set up in the spring as there was also some interest from a few guys in NoDak and 1 or 2 in MN. Any ideas, lemme know.

  16. Found one in OH with 48K miles for $17,997. It's a blue 2003 ss. Has a few mods but does have the SS decals upsidedown for some reason. Carfax doesn't show any accidents so I bet you could get it for $16K or less. Seems like a good deal for a low mile 2003. Here's a link to the autotrader ad: Blue SS 2003 in OH

Clean lookin truck, which I would assume for only 48k, but $18? Pretty steep for a '03. And its really hard for me to take it seriously when all the SS badges are upside down except the rear one - heck even the Shopman bowtie is the wrong way. Even if the carfax is clean, I still wouldn't give much over $16k.

  17. I would think if you can get into it with everything fixed and being road ready for around $9k, you would be in good shape, especially if you're planning on keeping it as your personal vehicle as you will get your use out of it. But since its been sitting for a long period of time, I would be a little weary of it myself as you wouldn't know what else you may have to stick into it. Because of that, I wouldn't pay much over $5k as it sits.
