  1. Yup south S/W side of the parking lot.. Over by the park and berlin wall memorial, Right off Mt. Rushmore Rd.

Alright, well from the looks of it, we are going to have a nice couple of days out there... TWC showin 78, 70, and 71 for Rapid for Fri, Sat, and Sun respectively and 73, 65, and 60 for Deadwood. Damn near perfect.

  2. dozens of places in Rapid... Sports buzz you get your own flat screen per booth lol..

Up in deadwood Im sure we can find the fight somewhere.. plenty of tvs/lounges

We're just meetin in the parking lot of the civic center, right Derek?

  3. should have made this a poll. i am a brock fan and i think he will win . however i have not seen alot of Carwin . im going to try and make this the first big event at my new pad!

Sorry about that... Guess I thought about it, but I wasn't quite sure how much attention this might get. Either way, after this weekend with Couture v. Nog, its the next fight that really bares watching. I really don't foresee Shogun giving Machida much of a fight.

As far as this fight goes, I'm with JaymzSS... He's a SoDak boy like me and I'm buddies with his cousins so I could never really cheer against him.

  6. Sounds good Derek. I'll be headin out Friday afternoon with a buddy or two and meetin up with another one in RC. As of now the plan is to hit Sanfords and take the night from there.... Sooo perhaps 9 to meet up? That way it gives me a chance to get up and clean up the truck before meeting up? Speaking of that, any idea where is a good car wash in that area? I know I'm gonna have a ton of bugs after the drive!

  7. Crazy... Kinda pisses me off. Its getting all about the money. They want to showcase Brock. His next fight should have been the winner of the Carwin/Velaz fight. I think it was going to be Carwin anyway, but I wanted to see for sure.

I wouldn't be so sure of Brock winning this fight. Carwin is going to train hard for this, and I think he can hold his own. It should be interesting. I can't wait to see the fight.... To bad the link isn't working for me at work. I'ma have to check it at home when I get off in a few hours.

Sorry the link didn't work, but I just tried it again and it worked for me?

You really think Carwin woulda been the one who made it anyway? Either way, I guess this is how it went down: Velasquez/Carwin were supposed to fight @ UFC 104, with the assumption that DW was going to have Fedor signed to fight Brock @ UFC 106. When that didn't happen, they were still going to have Velasquez/Carwin fight @ 104 because apparently after Brock's last fight vs Mir he had minor surgery and didn't figure to be ready until very late this year or early next year. But when he made a quicker recovery than what was expected, they moved Carwin up to get his shot - which I agree is a pure monetary move. But when Brock is the biggest PPV draw, they almost have to get him back in the ring ASAP, especially when there are worthy competitors unlike for GSP @ 170 and Spyder @ 185.

  8. Brock Lesnar's second title defense has been scheduled for November 21st @ UFC 106 vs. Shane Carwin. Carwin had been previously scheduled to fight Cain Velasquez, but now has been given a title shot.

    More here UFC 106

I am honestly surprised that Carwin is the one of these two that got the fight. Basing on the past few fights, I really thought Velasquez was going to be the one who would get the first opportunity. Either way, I am looking forward to the fight.

  9. I'd be interested in ordering some gov ment rate oakleys. I lost my contact. Maybe a group buy at slightly more than your cost to make it worth while. I would buy more than one pair also. I use to buy 3 or 4 at a time.

Any chance of anything like this happening? I could use another pair or two....

  10. I just wanted to say that I got the new PCM installed on Sunday, but due to work related junk, I have been really unable to try it out. Well tonight I finally took it out to see and wow, absolutely awesome. Just wanted to tell Charlie thanks again.

PS - Any chance I could get a few stickers to boast and do a lil advertising for ya? If ya need any money for em, just holla. Thanks!

  11. Sylvia wasnt his last fight Andre Arlovski was, and Arlovski looked eb tog etting the best of him in the stand up until he got a bit cocky and went for a flying knee a got caught by an over hand right. Mir took out Big Nog way past his prime, not trying take away anything from Mir but he definately doesnt hit as hard as Fedor and he fawking pounded Big Nog deadly in their first fight, actually kinda hard to watch damn it was brutal. BUT i do think Mir would give him a good fight tho, since Mir stand up has improved greatly i think Fedor would want to take him down and then Mir is no slouch on his back either so i'd be interested in seeing that one. but everyone was waiting for Fedor to fight Brock, i guess i'm personally not very interested in that fight but i would be good tho. anyways Fedor has the mystique about him for a reason, as Brad posted he has a great record and has beaten the best in MMA but i dont think Strikeforce really has anyone to offer Fedor much of a challange. only person that could give him a fight would be Brett Rogers, he packs a heavy punch but then again he's not very light on his feet and his ground game is questionable so i would figure Fedor would try to take him down and pund him out or sub him...

    -Rob

Yeah, I know. Read my first post = post #3 where I stated most recently the taking down of Arlovski. I agree though as I would just like to see what he could do against the other guys the UFC has to offer that are in their "prime" compared to Nog and Sylvia, whether it be Lesnar, Mir, Cheik Kongo, Cain Velasquez, etc. Once again though we are the losers in this whole deal and I agree with BigTs, DW is a tool.

  12. is there anywhere reasonably priced to stay? it would be me, my wife & 3 kids? it's about an 8 hour drive for me, but none of us have ever been to SD, & we haven't had our family vacation yet so we debating...

Well its summertime in the Hills so that means substantially higher hotel rates, especially on weekends. The good part is you would be there after the Rally so things might be a bit cheaper. Also depends where exactly you want to stay. Rapid will probably have the cheapest hotels I would assume, but there are also cabins for rent all over the hills that would make for a good time as well. If you know what you're lookin for lemme know and I'll try to help further.

  13. I really can't decide on a good nickname, but here a few I use: Baby blue, the SS, black 'n blue (my trailblazer is black), or 2hi2cu (license plate). The last one is the toughest because that plate used to be on my old truck -'95 Chevy Silverado with 6'' lift - and SoDak just instituted a new law last year that you're required to keep your vanity/personalized plate when you switch vehicles...

So that brings up a good question: What should I put on my plates next January when I finally get to change it?

  14. I watch inside MMA and they made it clear Fedor is M-1..that is his deal..his nest egg...thats why he is so adimit in trying to copromote..he is the chief shareholder from what they said and the UFC used to copromote and would probably benefit by doing so here and signing the fight everyone wants to see....To say fedor fights nobodys is a dumb statement..anybody who is anybody recognizes how good Fedor is.

A current 24 fight win streak

With 21 victories in the first round

4 victories in the first minute

12 victories in the first 2 minutes

No other fighter in all MMA has any where near the list of accomplishments.

Mind you Fedor did this while being injured 2 times due to injuries he sustained to his hand during a fight. And while top fighters backed out of fights. One of which back out on multiple occasions

--Not sure if this was directed at me or not, but I'll respond - Obviously the following list lays out a convincing argument and I never said he wasn't good or one of the all-time greats, but I really don't like the shadow game him and DW continue to play. DW knows what its gonna take, but isn't willing to go that far. Fedor could easily come to an agreement, but chooses not to for "money reasons." I'm just sayin I think there might be more behind his decisions than money.

Oh, and I wouldn't use his KO of Sylvia as that great of a thing as Sylvia is well past his prime and has been gettin pounded pretty bad lately. In his last match he was knocked out in 9 seconds by Ray Mercer. And obviously look how badly Mir took out Nog. Nog had never been stopped in his career - not even by Fedor in their 3 fights - and Mir did just that - stopped him. Yes, Nog is a different fighter than he was when he faced Fedor back in the day, but you cannot argue that the UFC heavyweight class is much deeper than Strikeforce. The best fight I could see for him currently would be Mir as Mir has a very solid submission game. Oh well, one can only dream!

  15. Fedor is a legend in the heavyweight class in MMA, but I do believe his legend status will deteriorate if he continues to avoid the UFC. Yes he has stopped Minotauro Nog twice plus a NC, Tim Sylvia but well after his prime, and most recently Arlovski, but these guys are not the best the UFC heavyweight class has to offer. Lesnar, Mir, Kongo, Carwin, and Velasquez I dare say would give him a better run at this point. A lot of me believes he is scared of ruining the ora that has come about with his name and he doesn't wanna get his ass handed to him. Either way, it sucks for fans like us!

  16. Saturday is the cruise, Some might stick around for sunday I guess :dunno:

Kinda seems to be falling apart, I'll update the list again here soon.. Its getting smaller I think :sigh:

Well Derek, I just wonder if we should consider doing it another weekend? Not that I want to, but as of right now, it is seeming to fall apart. Just a thought.

  17. Thats the opposite of what I have heard...Dana has all but garunteed Fedor iwll be in the UFC...His last fight in Affliction is Aug.

    UFC's offer "Didn't Make Sense"

I know this is from June, but I haven't seen anything new to dispute this except for DW yappin last night at 100 about how Fedor to the UFC is imminent. Well of course he is hoping that, but this has carried on for the better part of two years and what has exactly changed? Dude, I totally am hoping you're right, but I'm not holding my breath either.

  18. I cant wait to see in the soon future Lesner get his ass kicked by Fedor. It will happen :loser:

Not while DW is president. Guy is a complete tool. The money they would make if they brought both Fedor and Urijah Faber would be unimaginable, but from all reports out right now, there is no way Fedor is coming to the UFC. He said the contract they offered offended him.

  19. Tonight was absolutely awesome! I was so pumped when Hendo knocked out Bisping, but I still can't believe he dropped that bombshell elbow on him after he was out and admitted to it. I've seen that happen before, but never seen the fighter actually say he did it "just to shut him up" wow. Revenge. Plain and simple.

Speaking of revenge... Wow Lesnar. I guess I always cheer for the guy because I'm from SoDak, graduated with his cousin from hs and then roomed with him for 3 years in college. So I guess its always been easy to cheer for the local guy. A lot of the purist UFC fans don't like him and will never respect him, but as of right now he still brings in record numbers for ppv. He may get stopped at some point, but he is definitely an entertainer.

As for GSP, he is absolutely dominate and I really feel he needs to step up to 185. Even if he doesn't take on Anderson Silva right away, there is nothing left for him at 170.

Speaking of AS, bring on AS vs Forrest Griffin!
