  1. I live about 25 min from Summit Motorsports Park. I go atleast once a month. Have not been able to take the truck down track yet though. I might be going to the Halloween Classic this weekend. We should get some gatherings together next summer. I just saw another Arrival Blue SSS in my town that looked pretty sharp, and been seeing a few here and there. Couple TBSS are around here to. BTW welcome to the site SPPBLER222

  2. I bought a Cobra radar detector a few months ago and gave my other one to the wife. Every time I would accelerate the radar would go off. I put it in my wifes Equinox and it didn't do it. I don't know if it was from the DBW or what. Needless to say I took my old one from the wife and gave her the other one.

  3. Try leaving your spare tire on the truck or throw 75# of weight over the axle and see if you can hook up. if you hook up better or at all go with some softer shocks in the rear like Comp Engineering 3 way adjustable, or QA1. As for tires I never had luck with M&H DR's. I loved Mickey Thompson ET Street DR's. I have a few buddies running in the 8's in Camaros and Mustangs with 10.5" ET Streets. Pulling the wheels to the 1/8th. I wouldn't go with slicks because of the shackle hanger traction bar combo. If you launch to hard then there goes your drive train. I personally would go with softer shocks for racing only, and even if you have to throw some weight in the rear to hook up, it's better than spinning the tires down the track. Just my .o2

  4. I have a cousin that does about the same thing and he started his business by calling local banks and real estate companies and provided them with foreclosure removal of unwanted goods, and tearing out walls that past owners destroyed before losing their homes. Then the real estate companies had him do demo on driveways and exterior buildings so they could sell homes in foreclosure. In this day there are alot of foreclosures and i'm not saying its a gold mine but your name can be in someones yard and in someones mind. Good luck with the business.

  5. These are a few of the 200+ pics I took of the event. The last pic is of my son in front of a little ride on truck at the PPG tent after he entered a coloring contest. He ended up winning the contest in his age group, and got hooked up with some good stuff from them. (Thanks PPG) Luckly I took my wife with me and she got the bug for a hot rod. I found a 53' Chevy truck that is a good candidate but I still am looking for a 64-67 Chevy II. But she said I can't get one till we sell our house and build a new one with my own shop. So really by the time I spend my money on the house I won't be able to afford a project like a hot rod. But my son wants one too so we gang up on her about it all the time.

  6. Thanks MR.P.

All I am trying to do as of now is figure out what the truck is doing when and why. I have spark knock at this point but why etc. once I can get my files logged and viewed as you said I can play them and see what needs to be done. I can't get any logging done because my wife is driving the SSS casue our lease on the Equinox is almost up and were close to the miles. We were looking at a 06 TBSS but she wants third row seating now. :(

Thank you for the help. I know i'll have more questions when I get my logs.

  7. Ok I got it, downloaded the new updates, software, and manuals. Plugged it in, plugged the laptop in, and went through the vin code readings and dtc's. I tried to log with the black box, but when I push the button the log button just blinks once. Is it logging? Cause when I try to read it I can't find a log. Then I tried to record it to my laptop in the dash view, but can't figure out how to save the real time logs. I thought I had saved the pid's but I can't find them either. I really want to log a couple tests cause I have a spark knock that I don't like, and I want to take care of that asap. Any help is appreciated as I am a virgin at this.

  8. Kimber all the way. I always thought they were over priced for looks only kind of guns till I shot my buddies. I got rid of my Glock, Ruger Super Blackhawk, and my S&W 44 to buy my Kimber. I don't get to shoot it all that much anymore but when I hold it it feels like an extension of my hand. It is truly my favorite gun.

  9. I have been checking the site out all day trying to figure out the best route to take on tuning my truck. I noticed alot of people use wideband. Is this necessary to use as it costs about another $250? If so since my truck has dual 02's and pipes going out would I have to have 2 WB sensors? Thanks for your time.

  10. That's all I needed to know. Purchasing it tomm. I was pulling out of my buddies shop tonight and laid on the gas and heard some spark knock and I said to myself I was going to get it. I know I will be asking some questions on how to tune but I appreciate your comment.

  11. Ok so here is the deal. I want to start to tune my own truck since I put one upgrade on at a time (so the wife don't find out), and I don't want to have to take it to a tuner every few months to have it retuned after I do a mod. I don't have any "great" tuners in my area, and none with a awd dyno. So I figure if I start out by tuning my own truck and learn as I go, I wouldn't be wasting money in the long run.

I found a an EFI Live Flashscan V1.2 module that is brand new with 2 licenses, OBD & USB cables, software CD, license, and warranty card, and external input connectors for $250.

I don't want to spend a chunk on a great tuner right now so I would like to start out with the basic and upgrade when I get better. Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

  12. The blue fuse box cover is what the engine covers that are regular CF will be covered in, and the "stock" top cover was my initial design to paint and insert a piece of stainless steel behind the SS cutouts. The blue in it is bondo to smooth out the ribs. I don't know what I will like more though.

  13. Why not have a contest with the best two designs being voted for by us on here? I am sure there are some artists on here that would do a great job at designing a shirt. Heck have IdahoBLKss print them up, and i'll throw in some money for a free shirt to the two best design winners. Support the site, support the trucks, support a fellow member and let the artists see their work around the world.
