  1. I just ordered my shift kit, corvette servo, accumulator pistons, and boost valve for my trans, and I wanted to know if I can install the boost valve while the trans is still in the truck. I won't have the time to drop the tranny, and if I did I would end up redoing the whole thing and you know how one thing leads to another. So if anyone can help I would appreciate it. I just wanted to firm up shifts, and add some reliability as it's my daily driver and I love power. Thanks

  2. I contacted Magnaflow to see why my rpms may have dropped and the guy came to a conclusion that my old stock exhaust with 120k miles on it was restricting my exhaust flow. He said that the old rpm may have been higher cause of the motor having to expel the gasses at a higher pressure, and with a free flowing exhaust the motor don't have to work as hard to expel the gases.

  3. I really don't know. I asked a guy that owns a performance muffler shop and he said he had another guy with a magnaflow come in and say the same thing. At 60mph with no wind i'm running between 1600 and 1700 rpms. I only had the truck for 2 weeks before I put the muffler on and wind may have been a little different but I know it's lower now.

  4. the dealer is a idiot. You will only get that code if the t-stat is stuck open or you arent running one at all...

I thought the same thing, then I went out to my truck to make sure the temps of my truck were what I thought and that I wasn't an idiot. The t-stat is only around 2 weeks old, and the system was purged. I did run the 160* stat for about a week and a half before I got the new tune. Im not worried about it as long as it won't kill the motor. Thanks for the help all.

  5. Hey guys I just got my crank relearn done on the SSS and the dealer told me that it has a P0128 Low Engine Temp code on it. I installed a 160* t-stat, about 2 weeks ago, and had a tuned PCM done with that included in it. My engine temp is always between 170* and 185*. The guy at the dealership told me that it should run around 240*. That can't be true cause mine only ran about 210* with the factory t-stat in it. If anyone can help me with the possible cause of the code i'd appreciate it.

  6. I just put a Magnaflow 12599 dual 3" in/out with internal X pipe on my SS. I used the stock tailpipe and tip, but had to do some cutting and welding to get it to look stock. I also noticed a lag on the low end, but at 3 grand and up it pulled alot harder. I also noticed a drop of 200 rpms at 55mph with it. I had a custom tune done and it resolved most of the low end but still a little lag. I also had the torque mgt dropped 50% so that may be the reason for the better low end too. In my opinion it sounds great, pulls great for a daily driver and if you want to snap your neck at launch your going to need more than an exhaust.

  7. Has anyone ever found out how many Arrival Blue 04 SSS's were produced? If it's as rare as the 500-600 as mentioned i'm not going to get a custom paint job done to it. The paint job was going to be on the hood and front renders but still if it's that rare i'm not going to mess with the paint other than a respray.

  8. I just mated the Magnaflow 12599 to my stock pipes. I wanted the exhaust to look stock, so I had some cutting and welding to do to get it to look Stock. If I wouldn't have been up for 35hrs prior to doing this it would have gone alot faster. Either way it's done and sounds great. Ill try to get some sound clips on it soon.

  9. Its STOCK for now! Other than a CAI and 160* t-stat. Tune on it's way, and cat-back on its way to. Lookin to gather parts for a magna build. Cam, heads, t-body, e-fans, headers, converter, servos, shift kit, d/s rotors, braided brake lines, etc, etc, etc. The truck had a repaint on the pass side and has some runs in it somehow, so i'll be respraying that and my buddy does custom paint jobs so he's going to do some real fire to the front and hood. It's Arrival Blue, with stock silver wheels.

  10. Hey all. Im new to the site, and just got a 04' Silverado SS. Arrival Blue, bone stock when purchased. Just purchased some bolt-ons, but going to get more indepth soon.
