Well guys...
I'm getting married next weekend and upgrading to a 2007 Escalade with the 6.2L AWD early next week
So my truck is up for sale (again, and for real this time)
Currently, it's sitting at a little over 229k miles tuned with AEM cold air intake, OBX longtubes, and efans. I've owned it since 79k miles and it's been serviced at the same dealership with all documentation since I bought it. Interior is in good condition and it comes with weatherTech floor mats. Clean title in hand.
GM optioned CK370s with newer Goodyear tires purchased last year for winter rims, some flaking on the inner lip and one has minor curb rash. I've also got a set of black 20" SSS replicas with tires, not much tread left, but there's another set of used tires to go with them if necessary. I'd let it go with either set, both, or keep either one as a winter set for the Escalade.
Since it is higher mileage and I wasn't sure when I'd need it, I picked up a new front differential from Autozone. This will also be for sale, either separate or could go with the truck. New from Autozone it rang up around $1400 including a $250 core. I've got the paperwork so you'd get the core charge when you return your old one.
Spare victory red tailgate will be available. Stock airbox will go back on if I end up trading it in.
I always hated the idea of selling my truck but this 6.2 AWD I'm looking at has me eager to sell.
Located in Southeastern Wisconsin, I'm off most of next week leading up to the wedding.
It'd be cool to keep it on the forum as I know I'll stick around with the Escalade.
Serious offers, PM me.

Not sure I'm liking the idea of tearing my truck apart for a clone. But I may be willing to sell mine...
PM me, I don't think I'm too far from you in Beaver Dam.

I can still get a real good shine when I polish mine but they are pitted in spots and the inside is flaking out. They were on the truck when I bought it and not in perfect condition so I use them as my winter rims and keep my black reps out of the sand and salt. Good maintenance and cleaning from the get-go would be the best with any chrome wheel to help avoid any fugly stuff

I had to upgrade the fuses that came with my harness from 30A to 40A but I was using Silverado efans and they draw more current. They also bolted right in. Not sure how the ls1 fans mount but cooling shouldn't be an issue.

Great build! I dream of the day I can throw a blower at my truck.
Going wayyy back on this thread but are you still running the Z06 cam with your setup?
Is it a decent cam without requiring other mods for a stock SSS?

fishing line to cut thru the adhesive works pretty well and you're not prying on the emblems much... getting the remainder of the adhesive off would then be the tricky part.., but your emblems should remain intact.

Returned mine to a local Autozone and the staff was very understanding with my frustration and I believe handled it very well.
That said, I'm still waiting another week for another front diff.
I'll be picking it up at the store so I can check it before making another trip back...again.
Thankful for this forum and Bill(NipRing) for the PM before I tore into my truck.
-
Yep. Same sh*t here too. Got the 4wd part. Thanks for the PM Bill and good talking with ya before I tore into my truck. I'll be making my trip to Autozone in the morning.
I still can't believe they shipped mine on a full size semi. I'll be loading it in the back of my Park Ave... including pallet.
Will update how mine ends up whenever it happens.

Good to hear you got yours even though it took what seems to be forever! Hoping for mine sooner than later.
Good luck with the weekend project and congrats on the raise!

Did you ever get your front diff from Autozone???
I've been getting dicked around for the last 3weeks now. "ships within 3-5 business days" is a load of bs. I was later told "processing" takes 3-5 business days.
I didn't get shipping info til last week with an eta of 4-28-14. I haven't seen it yet. Was just told 4-28 was an "estimate" so I contacted the freight company.
They say the shipment is pending a notify appointment being scheduled with my prior to delivery and they left a message to schedule on 4/29. They don't have a number to contact for the appointment. So I check the bill of lading and my phone number is clearly shown! I haven't received any phone calls or emails regarding this and I'm beginning to get rather angry about it. I placed the order April 7th and here we are going into May and my truck is still sitting.
What am I to do?!?! Feels like i'm getting the run around from both autozone and the freight company now. I could have ordered to pick up at a store if I knew this was going to be such a PAIN

My efans would pop the fuses at first so had to swap them out for 40amps. Still notice a voltage drop every now and then when they kick in but my alternator isn't that old. I'm waiting for the day it dies then get a bigger alternator.
Sorry i'm not any help with the tuning. I had mine tuned in at pcm4less.

Just ordered my first 50rd drum for my smith&wesson mp15-22
my first pair of 25rd mags I got when I bought the gun lead to a couple pairs of 35rd mags and it started...
now I'll have eight 25rd, four 35rd, one 10rd, and a 50rd... this gun is a BLAST to shoot.
thankfully 22s are cheap if you can find them

I just ordered mine. Figure it's Autozone so if it turns out to be wrong, I'll just return it! Couldn't pass up the deal with the gift card when compared to how much a rebuild would cost.

welcome to the site!

This is great news. I'll be pulling the trigger on one of these ASAP. The salvage yard wanted $800 for a unit with 90,000miles on it already!
Thanks for the post and part number!
Autozone website shows that 440-01336B will not fit a 2004??? I spoke with their vendor and they said it is the same part #!

Have you checked your transfer case fluid?
I'm getting a noise grind/vibration from my front end too and a leak from the front seal on the transfer case
Mostly at 50-55mph or when I let off the throttle.
Thinking it could be u-joint vibration tearing apart the seal/bearing. Maybe carrier bearings are junk (229k miles)
I haven't been able to check tie rods, ball joints, or front dif.
Good luck and keep us posted if you find a fix!
did you figure this issue out my truck is doing the same thing too
I haven't been home long enough to take a good look at it. I really need to just find a local reputable shop that has the time.
Blown346 made some good suggestions on what to check. Good luck and keep us posted, I will update when I get mine figured out.

I agree..looks like a clean Victory Red SSS...
good luck

thanks for the write up! I called around asking about front-end rebuilds yesterday and was quoted "anywhere around $2500"

How much for the Bose head unit? digital heat controls?
-
front diff?
-
I've done it a couple times, once in my SSS by accident while on a work trip and another in a Cadillac STS I had as a rental. Awesome drive!
Watch out for motorcycles. If you're thinking April, traffic might not be too bad. Fall time can get crowded with so many people riding with the changing colors.
