  1. If its the welded series they sound like a flowmaster 40 series, I have two on my 57 Chevy and they work good. Like Jason said above there are better mufflers for pretty cheap that sound great. I know you can get a dual in dual out magnaflow for pretty cheap if you look around online.

  2. Seems like an okay deal as long as its mechanically sound and the body and interior are nice. Also I'm sure they would be open to offers being that its a salvage title. Looks like it books for around 15k or more depending on options, so it might be priced somewhat right.

  3. Ya sounds like its coming from the coolant cross over tube, or the hose that connects to the bottom of the throttle body. Should be a easy fix, just pin point where its leaking from and either replace the coolant hose to the throttle body or replace the gaskets for the crossover tube.

  4. Thanks guys! I had to go about 6 hours to get it but it sure was worth it!! I plan on keepin her around for a long time that's for sure

^ I see your from Alaska. How does the SS handle the snow up there?

It handles great in the snow/ice with the studded tires I'm running. I drive it year round and it always does great.

  5. Yeah. We text back and forth every once in awhile. Hes got a real similar build so im always picking his brain.

Lol so that aircraft paint remover didnt even touch the powdercoat.. I soaked that test piece in it overnight and it didnt do anything. LOL. So im gonna kick it up to 11.. Thought about getting some MEK and seeing if i cant melt my fingertips off. Lol.. But after referencing MSDS and doing some research, i decided against it. Lol! Its a known carcinigen and will leave burns. Not to mention my rubber gloves would be almost useless. Even the aircraft stripper started to melt my acrylic brush

So I did some reading and found a "gasket remover" in a spray can that should so the trick. I really down want to expose it to glass beading or anything. That cant be good for the rotors if i happen to accidentally get any inside.

Sounds like the way your doing your buffing works great, just never have done it that way. I've always used a bench buffing setup with a course and finishing polish pads and compounds. If there is no easy or safe way to remove the powder coating off that blower I wouldn't mess with polishing it. Might be to hard to get polished up... Although if the finish does easily strip right off then it might not be to bad to polish. That would be a bad time if blast media or stripper went inside the blower

  6. Good info on the pump, now I understand that head exchanger is massive!

I'm always a fan of polished stuff, how are you going about polishing your various pieces? Bench buffer or are you doing it by hand? Also that blower would look awesome polished surrounded by the arrival blue truck.

  7. Sure hope the deal works out O.K. Might better get hold of pay-pal just in case. (Assuming that you used P-P).

I had put a set in my watch list back when the dude talked about them in that Feb post and had noticed that they looked like they were no longer available.

Yeah I hope so too, he did respond back shortly after I bought them and said he would be shipping them out the coming week. I'm going to give them some more time to arrive but if they don't show up by the end of this week or early next week I'll open up a ebay case. Overall I'm not to worried about it.
