  1. For some reason the site won’t let me update my original post. I keep getting an error message. Been trying for a couple days now. Anyway,

    Update 6-2-18

Machine shop got back to me. They are slammed the next two weeks. After that, should be able to start the brackets. I will start emailing people and invoicing. After I get all the funds, I will order hardware and have the billet blanks delivered to the machine shop.

  2. if your interior dimensions are nominally 1 and you keep referring to it as schedule 40, then what you have is pipe. Pipe is NOT acceptable for making roll cages. Typically roll cages are made from DOM. Pipe is typically not designed for bending and taking loads. It is not structuraly uniform. Pipe will fracture long before DOM. If not a critical member, ERW can be used in place of DOM. A lot of people that use ERW do so because of cost. But if you plan properly and order all your material at the same time versus one stick at a time, the price of DOM can be very competitive compared to ERW.

  3. Looked thru the topic didnt see the question I have. I have 2006 Silverado SS with rear drums. Will this rear bracket work to go all disc???

I have never done a drum to disk conversion but from what I recall reading a while back, its fairly easy. Most people suggested finding a donor vehicle (Tahoe, Denali, Suburban) and pulling all the parts, brackets, brake lines ect. The axle ends should be the same as long as you have a standard 10 bolt rearend. Swap everything over except for the factory caliper brackets, calipers and rotors. Bolt on my brackets with the Z06 calipers and the Baer rotors and you are done. Remember to get the factory bolts that mount the caliper bracket to the axles. Those are needed to mount the Z06 brackets.

  4. So after running the numbers, here is what I've come up with. If at least 15 people or more are willing to pay $350 up front I will make one more run, probably the last. I will post a list of names on this thread to keep track. No money will be collected initially. Just need your name for the time being. If we get enough people I will contact everyone and send invoices through Paypal. Everyone will have 2 weeks to pay. After I receive all the funds, I will move forward. If people back out after invoices have been sent I will refund everyone's money that has paid and that will be it. I cannot promise a date when they will be ready. It all depends on how busy the machine shops are when I bring them the work. But from past experience it shouldn't take more than a month or two from the time all funds are collected to the brackets and hardware arriving at your door. So if you want in on the group buy post in this thread and send me a pm with your email address so I can send the paypal invoice as soon as we get enough people.

Im still working on finding better prices for raw materials and hardware but Ive had several people asking about how much will brackets be for the group by and after. So tentatively this is what I came up with but it may change.

    Group buy price
    Front and rear $350
    Front only $225
    Rear only $175

    After group buy price
    Front and rear $400
    Front only $250
    Rear only $200

Here is a link to the How-to I wrote for anyone not familiar with this upgrade.

Ok gentleman. Looks like we have enough people if everyone follows through. I will still add people that want to be included until I place the order with the machine shop.

I will give them a call this week and see what their schedule looks like. Sorry I havent been on here sooner. Ive been slammed at work doing 16 hour days. Ive felt like a zombie the last week. Hopefully things slow down.

    Update 6-18
Machine shop is still backed up and busy. Looks like another. Week or so. Ill update when I have more info.

    Update 6-20
Ok ladies and gentleman. Just put in my order for raw materials this morning. It is officially happening. In the next few days I will be sending out info to each person and then invoices. Even if youve already sent it, please send me your email again. The machine shop will start on these next week. Then off to get anodized. Should have them ready to ship by mid July.

    Update 7-5-16
I won't bore you with the details, but there were a few delays. Good news is that the brackets will be done today and dropped of at the plating shop tomorrow. Almost all the hardware is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. The last of it scheduled for Monday.

    Update 7-12-18
Brackets were dropped off on Monday. I was told they would be ready by Friday. If they are, I will begin shipping them out this Sat.

    Update 7-16-18
Just got off the phone with the plating shop. Brackets should be done on Wed.

    Update 7-22-18

Just got done boxing up a bunch of brackets. I will drop them off at the post office tomorrow. When the shipping label created, each person should get an email from Paypal with the tracking information. Depending on where you live, you should receive your package within a few days. After work everyday, I'll box up more and drop them off until the next day. Thank you everyone for your patience.

  5. Are you dealing directly with Baer or a reseller. Unless they have changed their part numbering system, those numbers are for the 1-piece rotors.

As for the brake lines, I believe you should be ok using the 2005 kit.

  6. If you can change your brake pads and bleed the brake lines, you can do this. Its very easy.

anyone have an estimate on how much this would cost to do on a single cab clone, paying a shop to do it since I cant do it myself.
