  1. just depends on what you want as far as the bolts go, I know some people use a combination of bolts and studs, mainly because the studs make it easier to hang the gasket while trying to get the header lined up.
  2. funny you should say that, because once I got it home I couldn't get the tire off the hanger, I fought with it for a while and ended up takin a hammer to it, and wire cutters to clip the cable once I got enough to clip.
  3. that price seems really good to me, wish you had been sellin them when I was lookin for some. GLWS
  4. yeah, opted not to put it back on, figured I'd just throw the tire in the bed.
  5. About a month ago my wife was drivin the SSS to work in the morning, luckily I was off that day, she called me to ask if we had an extra tire on the truck. I responded "like a spare?" wondering why she would be asking. She says "yeah" so I told her, "yes, it's under the bed why?" and she says" Oh, ok, it just fell off and it's laying in the middle of the road." I knew she wouldn't be able to pick it up and put it in the back of the truck so I went and got it. When I got it, the tire was laying there and the whole hanger assembly was still in the tire, the bolt hole that holds it up had completely ripped out. I just wondered if this had happened to anyone else.
  6. I vote no on the covers, I'd just paint the stock ones for now like someone else suggested. and then get the Z06 calipers when you get the money. Paint is a lot cheaper.
  7. ok, cool. I feel a lot better knowing that I am not the only one, I was worried that I had destroyed it or something, I guess that's yet to be determined. lol thanks for your insight.
  8. Well, My speedometer went crazy on me a while back and then quit working all together. So I did the research and found all the articles on here as well as many other places about replacing the old stepper motors with new ones. So I found replacement stepper motors on ebay bought them. I recently pulled the gauge cluster out, removed the stepper for the speedo and replaced it. as well as the stepper for the temp gauge(I had planned on replacing all of them but ran out of time). I put the cluster back together and reinstalled it. upon reinstallation I realized that the led behind the speedo as well as the led behind the temp gauge are now not working. What did I do? If anyone has any insight into what I did wrong, please let me know. I also plan on replacing the rest of the steppers and changing all the LEDs to red in the future. any help would be appreciated.
  9. one other thing you might do before replacing the tensioner is to check and make sure none of the pulleys are locked up. this could cause you to throw a belt.
  10. I don't know if it's still the case but I bought a couple from the dealership for less than LMC has them listed for. might check on it. Also be aware when you put them on they go on in one specific way, as indicated by a tab on the back side and a picture of a valve stem that is supposed to be oriented with your actual valve stem.
  11. I don't know the answer to your question, but I think you might be referring to the compressor, not the condenser.
  12. Oh, wow, they want almost as much for shipping as for the part. sorry. I don't know if he's still making them or what the deal is but you could try to get ahold of this guy. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/68054-ss-bumper-covers-and-brake-ducts-fiberglass/
  13. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm this is an option, it's about the only place I can find them. I plan on buying one from them as soon as finances permit.
  14. Ok thanks, appreciate the help. Just for future reference what is the one on the passenger side?
  15. OK, I bought a catch can from catchcans.com and I went to install it today, and it appears that there are two places where the crankcase vents to the intake manifold. one is on the drivers side it goes from the back of the valve cover to the very top of the intake manifold, the other is on the passenger side and it comes from the front of the valve cover on that side and connects to the intake manifold just behind the throttle body. My questions are which one of these should I connect the catch can to? Should I connect it to both of them? and Y them together? thinking that if I put the catch can in one to prevent oil vapor from entering the intake manifold the other would still be letting some through? Maybe i'm way off base, I dunno, someone please enlighten me. Thanks.
  16. What are the cam specs? Would it be good for a stock LQ9 or something with more work done on it? What would you recommend it for?
  17. I just bought a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X they're 285/50/20, got them from tire rack and on there, they were actually cheaper than the stock 275/55/20s. just something to look at. PS-haven't had a chance to put them on yet so I can't speak for their performance yet, but they were rated pretty high.
  18. I want the wheel with no damage, please I'll also send you a PM.
  19. I'll buy it! let me know where to send the paypal payment.
  20. I'm also interested in buying one wheel, If you decide to go through with this please let me know how much you would want to sell them for.
  21. OK, well let me know if you change your mind. No, I bought it about 14 months ago. But it was purchased from a local dealer when it was new, and funny thing is I know the salesman who sold it when it was new..... I thought it was interesting anyway.
  22. I might be interested in buying 1 if you're willing to separate them, maybe two depending on the price.
