pioneer avh 4300, very good unit. user interface is awesome, very smooth navigating through the menus. video quality is great too. doesnt take long to boot up either. didnt get the navi cause i have a garmin and gps on my phone so there was no use for it. paid 550 when it came out

no problem. it was a light blue color. sounded stock but surely wasnt when he was wot lol. also ran a black TBSS. i fell to that one too, he ran a 14.0 @ 99mph. but its all good my head is still high and i will return with much different results lol

thanks, thats what i said. im working up here in okso i went to thunder valley raceway in Lexington OK. ya im not going to take anything out. most of any racing ill do will be with it all on. so i wanna see how it does with it all on. we will see. im putting those on next and gonna take it back. hopefully i can get down there close to the low 14 just possibly maybe a 13. i doubt it but its something to hope for lol.

ok the first time i took the SS to the track the only mods i did to it was a cai and a magnaflow dumped. the best i could get was 2.287-60ft and 15.2267 @ 88.79mph. went last night and the only changes that have been made from then til now was a tune from Wheatley. I am really impressed with the improvements that just a tune alone will make. i was in the right lane. dang gto was in the left. i murdered him off the line lol. but that soon ended. i had 3/4 tank, tire and hitch was still on the truck. anyhow here is the slip .500 and 5mph gain. i wouldnt have thought it would make that much difference. but there it is. im very happy. now i just need to get the heads and cam installed and see what what kind of gains that gives me

Went to the track tonight to get a baseline. Pretty happy with the results. U definitely will get surprised at what a simple tune will do. I will post up the slip and comparison without the tune in about a hour when I make it back to a computer and can upload it. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

welcome to the site and the SS family!!first off and im sure i wont be the only to say this but use the search box. you will be able to find out pretty much any info you are looking for and answer just about any questions you have. im pretty sure just about everything has been tried at least once in some shape or form and it will be on here somewhere lol. u definitely want to start with a cai, (volant, k&n, ect.) headers(pacesetters, dynatechs arh)<------all depending on how much green you want to put out there lol and a tune. dont bother with wasting money on a programmer either. everyone has their preference but i personally went with Wheatly, he is the man. thats just a start. i warn you, once u start its very hard to stop. so keep a tight leash on the wallet. happy modding. and lets see some pics of that beauty.

ya i got this converter with the intentions of running just a cam and it being a lil bit smaller. then i decided to go with heads and that led to a bigger cam. im not trying to break any records with it and it wont see a whole lot of track time so the 3200 so do for now. but i can already see where this is all leading up to. one thing leads to another you know lol. next will be a beefier tranny and i will up the tc then.

well i finally pulled the trigger and ordered my heads and cam this morning. it was a $1900 punch in the gut. and looking in the wallet now just dust comes out of it. but its all good, will be worth it in a couple of weeks when its all put on.

ok trying to make a couple more decisions before i place my order tomorrow. im getting the prc stage 2.5 5.3l heads. im not quite sure which gaskets to get. should i just use the oem ones or go with cometics? im having mixed thoughts about this cause ive been told go oem and have been told use cometics. what are the ups and downs from either one. any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is the last thing i need to decide on before i order everything tomorrow. thanks

Ya Im just gonna let them take care of it. It will just be easier thay way. U know when i saw the damn thing bailing off of it i was in awe. But im in oklahoma right now working and thats what ill blame it on. Im not hating on the peeps from OK or the state itself but ur animals are dumb lol. I know no Texas deer would have made an attempt at suicide by jumping off that thing.lol ya i dont like the look of them either. but the next truck i buy will definitely have one put on just for the sake of things. help feel a lil bit better about driving on the roads down here

i dont know man. i mean anyone that is a gm fan i think would love to have a vette. i know i would. lol but you have to take in account of what you have already invested in the SS and then just part with it for what sounds like a pretty much stock vette. hell its ls based, and you know damn well your going to turn around and do the same exact thing to the vette that you did to the truck: motor, trans ect.....there is no way u will keep it stock. then you will be in the same boat as u are now. at least now you have a more versatile vehicle. u go the vette route and your gonna just end up buying you another vehicle because your not gonna want to put miles on it, get it out in the weather blah blah...........u know where im going with all this lol. i say STICK WITH THE SS!!!!!!!!!

oh i will. i called the insurance this morning and its just gonna be cheaper to let them fix it than me do it myself. so its a waiting game with geico lol. gotta love it

Well, being the hunter that I am. I just posted up there on the side of the road and waited for a bit thinking maybe she was dead cause she did not run off right away and I would go collect her. After about 30 minutes of waiting I grabbed the knife and went looking or her cause she fell off the other side the road into a creek. As soon as I peeked my head over the edge she jumped up and took off. On only three legs of course. Her front leg was tore up real bad. So she wont make it and will become coyote food. I thought for sure me and the guys at work was going to have some good food for the weekend but no. I end up with a repair bill.
