  1. Thanks for the responses guys! Mr. P, thanks for the very thorough response! I'm gonna pick up that gauge for the cylinder leak down test. Hopefully I catch it early.
  2. Truck has methodical ticking sound from driver side of the engine. I did the paper test where you place a piece of paper over the exhaust tips to see if it sucks back in. Sure enough, the paper would flow freely then would be violently sucked back in every few seconds. Truck does feel sluggish too when accelerating from a dead stop. My question is will the burned valve cause any more problems or will stay as is? On tuesday I'm going to call a mechanic i took my truck to for exhaust leaks that he fixed. He does all sorts of engine work on American cars, particularly muscle cars and muscle trucks. And what would I need to do to fix the problem? Sorry, I'm not a huge gear head. I know the basics.
  3. used from kcsilveradoss. Good dude to do business with
  4. Its the driver side cat but the bungs are fine. It's under the heat shield and I was going to find a place that can take the heat shield off and take a look at it to see if its crack or hole or whatever the case may be
  5. Took the SSS to a shop today and found out that a cylinder wasnt firing because one of the spark plug wires was leaning on the header. So the high rpm shuddering is fixed. Came to find that there is an exhaust leak in the hi flow cat! Still working on P0420
  6. i put on dynatechs and had my tuner tune out the rear o2 sensors.
  7. well i crawled under the truck and banged on the driver side cat and it sounded fine. could there be anything else besides an exhaust leak that would cause the code to be thrown? maybe my tune?

    P0420

Truck is throwing this code after putting on hi flow cats with my long tubes. I do have a ticking sound from front driver side of the engine so I don't think this could be a plugged cat. Any help or suggestions on what this is? When I go WOT on the truck, she starts to shake back and forth around 3000 rpm so I back off. Other than that, drivability has remained the same. I just read that an exhaust manifold leak could cause this so I believe that is where the ticking sound is coming from. Should i buy OEM exhaust gaskets and check my spark plug torquing?
  9. dynatechs+corsa sport=dope. annoying tick somewhre in engine+brake squeal=annoying.

How loud is you're exhaust? I was looking to do the exact same setup... Send me a PM if you can please!

  10. I just did my longtube install and now I have a rubbing or vibrating noise coming from my exhaust somewhere. When the truck is in park on neutral there is no noise but drive, reverse or 3 2 1 makes the vibrating sound. It is coming from under the cab so could it be from a loose bolt or my y pipe not having the pipes flush against the y pipe? Edit: it does do it in neutral but not as bad. Only happens when I'm stopped or creepin under 10 mph
  11. to be honest, screw the emissions stuff and just get yourself some long tubes.

  16. Anybody know anything about these? http://www.importtun...hood/index.html Pretty retarded if you ask me. Just a waste of time and another way for bankrupt California to make some money.
  17. I personally am waiting until I have enough money to buy TBSS 22" replicas in black. I love the look of the red SS with black wheels. I say black wheels all the way! You don't have to worry about the upkeep on chrome.
  18. The search bar is also a good tool to use
  19. yes you will gain horsepower. Stock exhaust piping for these trucks is 2 1/2 ". and running from the side of the truck in front of the tire could be duals single with dual tip
  20. i think the TBSS reps look sweet. i just might buy some now since my stock chrome wheels are fading and look butt ugly close up.
  21. its my 19th birthday!
