gotta two for one thread going.. i just ordered a pioneer double din radio. its a 5.8'' touch screen. i was curious if there is any modding needed to be done to the dash for this radio to fit in the bose hole. and also are steering wheel controls still possible? next i was wondering if anyone could post a chart/picture of the power curve on a stock ss lq9 motor. i cant seem to find one. thanks in advance guys

thanks. brother pulled a fresh built 4l80 with corvette servos and everything out of his camaro to put a 6 speed in. will probably build my tranny off of that one. its got a fresh pump and everything so i should be alright.

Hey guys im selling my rockcrawler/ mud truck to buy some presents for my '03 SS AWD. Im thinking of going with some type of forced induction. Is anyone selling or knows anyone who wants to part with a turbo / sc / any type of forced induction set up in the $2000- $2500 price range. yeah i know thats very low and unlikely but i would appreciate it if anyone could hook me up!!

thanks. i should be posting numbers within the next couple weeks anyway. i just wanted a baseline pull but ill be getting it tuned soon so ill be able to see baseline and true numbers ! does anyone know what to expect as of right now... K&N CAI is only mod. other than a cheap after market muffler. what to expect to the ground on first pull??

hate to say it but i probably wont be posting any numbers.. the event is from 12 to 5 and about 40 mins from home.. guess who has to work 12 to 4 tomorrow.... ME! i had asked my brother to take the truck for me and get some videos and or pictures and let him read everyones input and he said he wouldnt feel comfortable doing it without me there just because of the possible damage.. but i really do appreciate it guys because my next thread may have been asking for a t-case haha.. but i am planning on LT's, underdrive pulleys, and a tune within a couple more paychecks AS well as a set of 22s , so if anyone has anything of interest please let me know ! thanks guys

wow im glad i asked before i pulled it. so it will be fine if i pull it right before strappin down? btw i appreciate your advice/ input a lot! probably just saved me money

I live in Simpsonville SC. im not sure if there is anyone on here from around here, i have only seen 2 other SS trucks around here since owning mine. The Dyno is in Roebuck SC at a place call TDC ( Top Dead Center) its from 12 - 5 tomorrow free lunch and $20 for 3 pulls.. I will take your advice on not driving it but could you tell me what the reason is in you sayin that? gonna tear somethin up?

Hey guys, a local shop is having a big get together tomorrow .. free lunch and $20 for 3 pulls. its a single roller dyno, is there any objection to pulling my front drive shaft? i dont know what all is tied up in the computer if that'll throw anything off or is it just take it out and ready to roll.. input?? thanks

thanks guys.. those pics look great. i'm not really wanting to butcher my dash if it requires much trimming. only for purposes of cleanliness and if i were to ever take that h/u out. i appreciate the input and the pictures for sure.. just not sure if i can get the gut to cut on a perfectly fine dash.

Hey guys, goin to an after market radio.. i have my eye on two of them right now. they are both pioneer double din radios.. one of them has a 5.8'' screen and the other has a 7'' screen. the actual units are the same size im pretty sure.. just curious if there is any fabbing or cutting that needs to be done for these to fit. how close are they to the factory bose h/u. input would be very appreciated , thanks! also lookin for a reasonable priced and good lookin 22'' wheel for my black 03 SSS..

ive set the record straight on a couple youtube vids with people leavin comments and just soundin like complete morons.. i just cant stand when people talk crap or act like they know more about someone elses vehicle, knowing that half the people that leave the comments dont even own an SS

i went youtube crazy lookin for SS vids when i got my SS last year and saw this one and just wanted to punch the guy. i gotta admit, my truck has been used as a truck, but will never see awd offroad donuts in it as long as its under my ownership

will do, just got her in the garage, turned on the heat and about to start searchin for the problem and clean the TB. while on this topic, P0455 is an emissions code, would this be CAT? or 02 sensor?

i will definitely check that. so if all connections are good just clean TB... thanks for the tips

yeah i know i was jokin around, gas prices just keep on goin up.. umm i looked it up and its sayin throttle actuator control. guessin this takes place of an actual throttle cable since these are electronic??

My 2003 Sss has always been great friends with the Low Fuel light but now is starting to hang out with the check engine light too much. Truck keeps going into protect mode, or reduced engine power.. Its throwing the code p1516 and that looks like its gonna be Throttle Actuator control. Local autoparts stores dont carry them, guess thats a factory part? anyone have tricks to fixin this or getting one? thanks guys.

yeah i had mentioned droppin the cats and throwin some longtubes on it earlier.. that list may get put to use here soon when i sell my other truck. i appreciate the input guys.. really do. maybe but next track season i can see some quicker times. id like to do some things over the winter and drop a few tenths. maybe not to yall but anyway these trucks sit they are stout!! its fun bustin all the ricers around town and runnin down some gt's that leave the high school in the afternoon. fools that cant drive a stick and crappy ford power..and the fact that our trucks weigh twice as much..ive shocked many people haha good ol chevy power but thanks for that list. i plan on goin through the motor in the next year or so.. do some type of budget built. cam , tune and some top end work .. but its my DD so cant put it down for long and do anything too radical

it may be worth the money.. i spent hours wiring an adapter to mine to run some subs only to find out bose has power blockers throughout their wiring not allowing the subwoofers to power up. a buddy of mine just got his done at a stereo place here in town for i wanna say aroud $50. but that was to factory radio.

JUST went through it. was hoping i could get out lucky and put a filter on it. filter did help a little but i still had very very little fuel pressure, so put a pump in it and she runs like a champ now.. even if i were going to do the pump i was still gonna put a new filter in it. so my bet would be pump, i just did mine a few weeks ago.

ok guys!! thanks for the input yeah i understand if i had real horses under the hood id want it. but pretty much stock i think i hear a TINY chirp leavin the line thats why i didnt know what itd do in 2wd. gonna leave it as is right now. thanks
