  1. DWI under limit-class3 mis. back in '99 just turned 21! learned the hard way; my CO was pissed and I almost got booted out of the Army...
  2. I'm still rollin she just said damn! and just kept going...watch it again Look at it around 3:10
  3. And just to think I was upset when they didn't offer me a spot in jump school. I hate to hear that about your foot and I hope that you bounce back quickly. I felt that I had aged several years for my deplyoment in Iraq. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to do several. My hat goes off to everyone that went back multiple times.
  4. Just asking? Doesn't the 2004+ come from the factory with Iridium plugs????
  5. You can get the oil lines at NAPA for around $67.00 Just bought some last week. FYI
  6. I have done alot of research on oil and I personaly have used RP since 2004 (I used Mobil 1 from 99-04). I drive 3,000-4,000 miles a month and have put 145,000 miles on an '02 Silverado & 126,000 miles on my current truck with no problems. I use it in everything except my tranny (I have never changed it) oh and the transfer case it uses the crazy blue crap from GM. I only change my oil every 10,000 miles and think it could go longer. I have thought about oil analysis but it would be cheaper just to change the oil and not worry. Lately I have been thinking of changing to the RP XPR oil since it does not have the API label. Oils with the API label have only a limited amount of Zinc Dialkyl Dithiophosphate (ZDDP) an additive that is used to prevent wear. In the end do your research and do what you feel comfortable with. I def. think it is worth it the best results after I changed the rear diff. it has performed alot better. Hope this helps.
  7. How about this: http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web
  8. I think black chrome would be the ticket on the already chrome wheels and they stick out because not many around...your wheels...
  9. Wow...I have an '04 and guess what it did the same thing around 40,000-41,000 miles. I have tried the trick of greasing the slip yoke, thought it was a Ujoint (it was fine), rear end trouble (it was fine)...etc list goes on and on. Finally I went back to the stealership and they reflashed my ECM (8x,xxx miles) and it was better not gone. Every once in a while when I turn a corner and get back in the throttle it slams together and makes a VERY loud metallic bang. With all of that said I have heard many complants from other guys and it seems to go away mostly with a custom tune. I have 126,xxx now and nothing has broken yet. I have read somewhere that it was the transmisson going into N or coast mode to save fuel and the sound we are hearing is everything meshing back together when you get back on the throttle. I would like to see what others have to say on this topic.
  10. Well I dropped off my truck this afternoon to get the LQ9 installed and I noticed that I puchased the K&N FIPK 57-3031-1 instead of 57-3050. Since I'm spending all the extra $$$$ to get the electric fan upgrade I wanted to use the tube that makes the natural bend instead of the one that I purchased that makes a very abrupt 90 degree angle. Well now the question is... can I just buy a new tube or do I have to buy the whole new kit and then try and sell the other one. My other plan was to just custom make one my self out of aluminum tubing but then where is the best place to purchase????? I also looked and the place I bought states ALL SALES FINAL.
  11. Wow that truck has come a long way! I was reading the other threads of it just a few days ago about all the body work.... Nice job and I really like the sweep on the gauges. On a side note my uncle had '68 just like it when I was a kid and we called it Swamp Hog since it was the nice green. I wish I would have bought when he was selling it for $ 500.00.
  12. That is a lot of tile on the driveway and garage floor. Nice build!!
  13. I think Hendricks would have tricked it up a little more than that. Justs look like the Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet may have just did that to sell trucks in a down economy and IF it was done at a dealer I would imagine that they would have atleast put the decals on correctly. Look in the photos of the SS badges. Just my $.02 Nothing is out there on a special edition truck. However for towing isn't the Vortec Max rated at 11,500 lbs. That truck should work just bad badging job and there are cheaper SS's and Vortec Max's out there. I would keep lookin and good luck...
  14. Thanks for the info! Since I'm getting my LQ9 installed this week I will need to upgrade the exhaust soon from the stock 2.5". I currently have a stock MagnaFlow si/so and like the sound this is perfect timing and it would save me $22.00 off the price and shipping as it is on his website. http://www.flowmonster.com/fm2468sflowmons...25dualdual.aspx
  15. ???????? That thing is just Nutz!
  16. My friend also had same issue in his TBSS, it to was a bad cat. The stealership changed out for free and they also gave him the same song and dance about the fee if it turned out it wasn't bad. His exhaust also had some slight popping sounds under load and at idle along with the rotten egg smell. (although very slight) Word to the wise is to make sure that they have one instock before you drop your truck off. He dropped his off then they told him that they would have to order one so they made him come pick it up and he had to wait several days. Good luck!!
  17. That really sucks!!! Bad feeling to come out and have your prize poss. messed with. Some A$$ gave me a nasty door ding the other day and even rubbed the dirt off just to show me it was dented.

    Baby!

Congrats!!! -- Words can not describe how you will feel the day when he/she is born. The best 2 days of my life are the ones when my sons were born.
  19. Now that is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever seen. Why would anyone want that. I'm even sorry I spent the time to even watch the whole thing.
  20. I'm new to so welcome and happy research. There is alot of great info on here to mod your truck.
  21. Hello everyone I live in Anna TX and obviously I'm new here and this is the only forum I belong to because I believe it to be the best and most accurate info. I'm currently building my CC VHO. My 5.3 has the Castech heads which have porosity problems (coolant in the oil) which lead me to this site doing research on what to do about it. End result is giong to be LQ9 from an Escalade comp cam Prob 218 220 range, comp 918 springs,160 deg stat, 34" rad with oil coller and electric fans, corvette servo, k&n FIPK, custom tune obviously, etc.... not sure how to go on exhaust can't afford long tube right now. and have stock 2.5 pipe with straight through magnaflow muffler. There is alot of good info on this site and I have spent countless hours on here deciding what to do. Anyway I was glad to see that not everyone on here has an SSS but is accepted by most that do!!!!
