  1. Cool thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. scrapinby, I'm giving the award to him, and a little FYI, I drive this big Bitch like I did my 96 Z28, so I think I have a pretty good idea how to back her up. Spot was tight as hell though.
  2. So i parked my truck as far away from everyone else as possible when the fiance and I went to dinner the other day. Some a-hole decided to park up right against the passengers side, close enough that my fiance had to climb in thru the drivers side. I started backing up and knowing there was a light pole off to my left, fearing i'd scrape against his precious Range Rover, i dismissed how close the pole actually was, until I heard a scrape, creak, and crush and my truck stopped moving. The rear tire was up against the concrete block..... So quick question, I was told that Silver Birch never looks right when its touched up, as in only a few panels being repainted and cleared, one of the guys I work with was gonna buy a Silver Birch 2500HD. The dealer told him that painting just a door, fender or any panel alone will never match, shine wise, said the color will match perfect, but at different angles the spot painted will look shiney and the rest dull and vice versa, supposedly the whole side needs to be painted..... Is it true that the clear coat will be affected this badly by just having the rear panel and bumper repainted???? Or is this a load of crap they fed him to upsell him to a 3500HD, which is what he bought instead? Thanks guys, I appreciate any info.
  3. I've got cloth in mine, the original owner order it with the cloth 40/20/40 front bench and had a extra large sunroof installed. I dont mind it, work construction, trucks parked in the sun 10 hours a day, i enjoy not frying my sac when i get in.... Original owner is a cool dude though, ran into him at Home Cheapo a few months back, now im working on his house, gave me all the original paperwork, window sticker, and even gave me the truck cover he had bought for it!!!!!
  4. That ricer with the wannabe Audi led lights looks just as angry as the rest of us!!! LOL
  5. I call my baby Bullet, obviously cuz she's silver and fast, my friends call her Quick Silver...
  6. I figured that much, I'm on at Camaro5 just about as much as I am here, I knew SLP was working there own version of the ZL1 but the new car sales manager over at my dealership was adamant that the ZL1 was just a package thru SLP. When I asked him why the placard at the autoshow didn't clarify that he was stumped. I was just passing along info that was fed to me. Not trying to misinfom anyone.
  7. Family sedan owners have a forum??? I can't believe these ricers (read douchebags) are arguing over which pony car is better... Do they even know anything about rear drive performance?? I'm surprised I didn't read something along the lines of rwd sux balls in the snow fwd FTW!!!!! At least that's what every ricers argument is when the SS spanks them... " oh yeah well can u drive it in the snow?" Yes moron I know how to drive a real car...
  8. I was curious about the ZL1myself so I took a trip to my dealership yesterday, I was told that its like the 4th gem SS camaros were, you pick the SS of your choice and for another $40,000 they send the car to SLP to have the ZL1 package installed. So your pretty much paying for 2 SS camaros. Depending on what trim SS you purchase your ZL1 will cost anywhere from $70,000 to $80,000. To verify the truth to this I asked 2 other Chevy dealerships and they gave me the same answer.
  9. Saw a Victory Red SSS at the intersection of Miller Rd and Randall at about 4pm. Anyone from here?
  10. Yeah, best ones out there. In-channel, i just pull them out anytime I was the truck. Thanks for the comments guys, waiting to throw my new black powder coated bowtie up on the grille.
  11. Finally got a chance to clean her up properly, used Turtle Wax ICE for everything...
  12. Your going to have to replace the whole unit. I know I had to replace mine twice in my old Impala when I broke a button. Try a local junkyard, might get lucky and find a nice one for cheap.
  13. So i guess anything made by liquid nails would suffice?? LOL love that stuff.... Another quick question for Paulguy, did you pull the carpet down and mount the 1/2 inch board to the wall then recover with the original carpet, or did you just carpet the board and glue it into place over the existing carpeting, i'm looking at the pics off my Evo and the more i zoom the blurrier they get. Sorry for the billion questions, just wanna do it right the first time. Thanks'
  14. Paulguy, thanks so much for the info. Honestly your back wall is done so clean that it looks almostvas if you pulled the original carpet down and mounted the plywood behind it. Very clean install bro...
  15. Hey Paulguy, is all ur stuff mounted directly to the wall? I asked my buddy that's an installer and he was adamant that no matter what length screws I used, they'd come thru the sheetmetal. After looking again, I'm guessing that's what u did, silicone and a piece of board, what insulation is back there. Also I see ur seat back folds down, I'm assuming u cut the tabs? Silverado777 thanks for the pic. Thanks again u guys.
  16. Hey guys looking to finally install my system. Was curious as to where I can mount my 2 amps and my cap. I really don't want to drill them into the wall behind the rear seat in fear that the screws will come out the other side. Don't want to molest my sheet metal. Is it possible to mount everything on the back of the seat? Just curious about clearance...
  17. Any of you guys know of anywhere i can get the truck dyno tuned? I already have Speed Inc on the list but i'm trying to shop around and see if I can get better than 3 pulls/tune for $550. Sound Performance does dyno tuning but not to late model cars....
  18. Thanks Bad aSS Silvy, i was leaning towards the OBX's also, just for the fact that they don't cost much and bolt right up. I think I will just go ahead and order those.
  19. I don't see it as a waste, I can always throw those headers on my other truck. Also the turbo build being completed all comes down to how much my fiance' is going to spend on our wedding!!! Yikes I have a budget but we all know guys can't budget for a wedding worth shit, if this wedding costs over 25 grand then the turbo build gets put on hold. So essentially i'm trying to sqeeze out some bang for the buck ponies for the moment. Hope this makes sense?
  20. I'll be sure to keep you in mind if i decide to get rid of them, my only concern is not being able to properly install the headers with where the cutouts were welded. I did search, I was mostly looking for people's take on what they have and how they have performed with their supporting mods. As of now the truck is just mainly bolt ons, but i'm going to have it torn down, bored and stroked and twin turbo'd within the year. I do appreciate all your guys info though.
  21. Was looking for some input on headers, and what you guys recommend, I'm looking for LT's, I would like to get a set of Stainless Works headers but i noticed they don't have a listing for 2wd models. The other set i was looking at were the OBX lt's. The truck already has a magnaflow catback and I just installed a Specter Performance CAI that i got for my bday. Any other companies that I maybe haven't run across? The truck also had cut outs on it when i bought it that i might get rid of, but i'm not sure if they were welded into the proper location, they're directly under the passenger seat, so I'm wondering if the were installed where the cat pipes connect to the muffler?? I'll try and snap a pic of it to show you guys. Thanks.
  22. Just thought i'd pop in and let you guys know i hit the scary, vile, miserable 3-0 today lol. Don't understand why people freak out when they turn 30, it's just a number. I don't feel any different yet....
  23. Yeah i thought i did the same, I did some searching around this afternoon and came across another forum where this was being discussed. I know for a fact we can't reset the engine hours ourselves, it just won't, I tried you can even try yourself. In the other forum it seems like more than a few truck owners are having this problem. I'll post the link below. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74543
  24. Been having a small issue with my truck, my engine hours counter has reset itself on two occasions that I'm aware of. First time was about 4 months ago I noticed it a few weeks after having the oil changed, and the second time just an hour ago when I went to fill up, I usually fill the truck while the key is in the on position, bad habit, I know. The truck had somewhere around 150 hours on it from the last time it reset itself. I usually scroll through the mileage counter and noticed it had zero'd out after fill up. The truck just turned 30,000 miles, and i know it had 474 hours on it when i bought it, cuz i took a pic of it. I'm wondering if any of you guys have experienced this cuz it's driving me crazy.. Mods if this is in the wrong section, sorry. Thanks Guys!
