Haha Thanks for the welcome..it's actually a hatchback..my brother has a notchback. Still lighter than a vert. Haha I'll let you know if I'm ever in Michigan. I would NEVER drive a Honda..or anything else non-American for that matter.
I don't have any pictures of me with the car yet
Btw, the black rims are new. I put them on yesterday.
Digging the hatch And welcome!

It will only help. The tuner who ever you decide to use can tweak the motor a little more.
okay, ive heard that it makes it run rich, which is like having a choke on and not getting the performance out of it like i should. are they pointless without a tune?
-
Correct, only a handful of trucks need it, it's rare....
alright, thanks for the useful info man!
-
CEL = Check Engine Light, a.k.a the MIL = Malfunction Indicator Light, or SES = Service Engine Soon Light
ahhh ic lol so if your check engine light doesnt come on after a tune, then u dont need to have the crankshaft variation learned?
-
Crankshaft Variation Learn is needed in order for the PCM to learn actual crankshaft position. It isn't always necessary, only a handful of trucks will need it, and you will be able to tell because your CEL will be lit. Any auto repair shop that has a diagnostic scan tool like Snap-On Modus or Solus, Mac Mentor Pro, MasterTech, or Tech2 should be able to perform this in a matter of minutes.....
what the CEL?

I am breaking my own rules here to post mail order info in this section. Important things to know about it.
Info needed when requesting tuning from any tuner:
VIN:
Year:
Make:
Model:
Engine:
Transmission:
Gear Ratio:
MODIFICATIONS:
Cold air intake: (yes or no is fine)
Exhaust: (from cat back or where the cats used to be, description or brand will do)
Cats: (High flow aftermarket, stock, or none)
Headers: (brand and type)
Camshaft: (specs or brand and part number preferred)
MAF Sensor: (stock, descreened, or aftermarket)
Thermostat: (stock or what temp)
Wires: (stock or other)
Torque Converter: (brand and advertised stall speed)
Shift Kit: (brand and type)
Servo's: (brand and type
Spark Plugs: (brand and part number)
Other:
If you have a PCM sent to you you'll want to have a crankshaft variation learn performed. This is not a required thing to have done, but recomended. You will on the other hand have to perform a security learn. This will take just over 30 minutes. The steps for this are:
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start.
Observe the SECURITY telltale; after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes; the vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs, if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.
I'll try to add to this as I go. As for posting, remember that mail order tuning questions can go in this post or in the bolt on section. They do not belong in the PCM Tuning section. Feel free to ask mail order tuning questions in this post though.
Were can i get the crankshaft variation learn at?

If you install the shift kit and you are using a programmer (in your sig) you will need to make sure the line pressure is set back to stock. i would also install new upgraded accumulators and a larger cooler. and you should ditch the programmer and get a custom tune.. chris
yeah i am ditching the programmer and getting a wheatley tune. but im wanting to know since my truck has torque management if the shift kit will even help? cuz ive heard it does and that it doesnt.
-
im wanting to get a transgo hd2 shift kit in my truck. do u have to buy the reprogramming kit also? or is it two different products?
and also if i have TM will the shift kit even help?
im also gettin a vette servo.
any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks, Mike

Hey everyone got pics of my truck up! Did all mods myself, in autobody class, im 16 and wanting to do more to it!
Tell me how you like em
Thanks, Mike
-
alright! ill have some pics up proly tommorow
-
yes i was going to it myself, because the muffler guys were i live arent allowed to do anything involving removing the cats or hollowing them out.
-
well if you cut the cats out you'll have to replace them with a exahust piping to fill the gap or you can hollow the cats out and put them back in. when you say catback system that would mean replacing the whole exhaust from the cat back, its not necessary unless your plannign on changing the whole exahust.
okay thanks! so hollowing out the cats is pretty much the same thing as removing them and replacing with piping?
-
okie doke, and another question when i do the cat delete do i have to buy a cat back system? thanks for your help
-
whats the best way to get ahold of charlie? i checked out his website and there is really no info on how to contact him for the tune besides a email and phone? do i email him all the mods on my truck or how does it work?
-
Im wanting to delete the cats on my 99 Chevy Silverado. not sure on what to do cuz i heard it throws codes.
