  1. Haha Thanks for the welcome..it's actually a hatchback..my brother has a notchback. Still lighter than a vert. Haha I'll let you know if I'm ever in Michigan. I would NEVER drive a Honda..or anything else non-American for that matter.

Digging the hatchthumb.gif And welcome! wink2.gif

  2. need more pics, and paint the handles and what not, i like the all clear look of the lights, not the black cover on them, and im kinda digging the ss cover as well

yeah i got more pics in my gallery man, and yeah this year at school in autobody im gonna be doing more work to it. like painting the handles, shaving my third brake light, and tail gate, and molded in my roll pan.

  3. CEL = Check Engine Light, a.k.a the MIL = Malfunction Indicator Light, or SES = Service Engine Soon Light

ahhh ic lol so if your check engine light doesnt come on after a tune, then u dont need to have the crankshaft variation learned?

  4. Crankshaft Variation Learn is needed in order for the PCM to learn actual crankshaft position. It isn't always necessary, only a handful of trucks will need it, and you will be able to tell because your CEL will be lit. Any auto repair shop that has a diagnostic scan tool like Snap-On Modus or Solus, Mac Mentor Pro, MasterTech, or Tech2 should be able to perform this in a matter of minutes.....

    what the CEL?

  5. I am breaking my own rules here to post mail order info in this section. Important things to know about it.

Info needed when requesting tuning from any tuner:

    VIN:

    Year:

    Make:

    Model:

    Engine:

    Transmission:

    Gear Ratio:

    MODIFICATIONS:

Cold air intake: (yes or no is fine)

Exhaust: (from cat back or where the cats used to be, description or brand will do)

Cats: (High flow aftermarket, stock, or none)

    Headers: (brand and type)

Camshaft: (specs or brand and part number preferred)

MAF Sensor: (stock, descreened, or aftermarket)

    Thermostat: (stock or what temp)

    Wires: (stock or other)

Torque Converter: (brand and advertised stall speed)

    Shift Kit: (brand and type)

    Servo's: (brand and type

Spark Plugs: (brand and part number)

    Other:

If you have a PCM sent to you you'll want to have a crankshaft variation learn performed. This is not a required thing to have done, but recomended. You will on the other hand have to perform a security learn. This will take just over 30 minutes. The steps for this are:

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start.

Observe the SECURITY telltale; after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.

Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.

Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes; the vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.

Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.

With a scan tool, clear any DTCs, if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.

I'll try to add to this as I go. As for posting, remember that mail order tuning questions can go in this post or in the bolt on section. They do not belong in the PCM Tuning section. Feel free to ask mail order tuning questions in this post though.

Were can i get the crankshaft variation learn at?

  6. If you install the shift kit and you are using a programmer (in your sig) you will need to make sure the line pressure is set back to stock. i would also install new upgraded accumulators and a larger cooler. and you should ditch the programmer and get a custom tune.. chris

yeah i am ditching the programmer and getting a wheatley tune. but im wanting to know since my truck has torque management if the shift kit will even help? cuz ive heard it does and that it doesnt.

  7. didnt know were to put this post at but oh well lol. im trying to decide on wheels. i want the SS Wheels really bad, but i heard they weight a whopping 42lbs!! which is crazy. i am looking at the enkei rt6 18in wheels. they weight 25lbs which sounds a lot better. just wanting some opinions guys!

    Thanks, Mike

  8. well if you cut the cats out you'll have to replace them with a exahust piping to fill the gap or you can hollow the cats out and put them back in. when you say catback system that would mean replacing the whole exhaust from the cat back, its not necessary unless your plannign on changing the whole exahust.

okay thanks! so hollowing out the cats is pretty much the same thing as removing them and replacing with piping?
