  6. ok before i start getting burnt on the cheap build part. I want you to know I have seen with my own eyes an ls1 camaro run low 11's with the on 3 performance truck kit of coarse modified to fit. So here is my list: 99-06 truck turbo system. On 3 performance trans is a built patc raptor, After turbo install i will be saving for a flt level 7 torque convertor, need to upgrade thinking for a 2800k - 3000k stall ? Cam and heads, cam is a g5x3 by Gigliotti but im running stock rockers. heads are stock ported and polished. I need fuel, should i get the kit in the link below my post? or shoot for a walbro 255 or a frame mounted kit. injectors are just as bad. should i go with the kit or look for a 55# injectors else where problem is this stuff is cheap. really cheap. good reviews on the simmens deka 60# any one have a part number im confused on long/short and the connector type. http://www.on3performance.com/shop/1999-07-chevygmc-15002500-truck-turbo-system/ Next they offer upgraded maf why? Why a map sensor other than a guage? pcm cant read a map as far as i know. I can get the tuning close with hp tuners but i will need to find an awd dyno and a respectable tuner to get it right pita....
  7. You guys are convincing! I swear I did my homework on the raptor and it seemed that patc had a good rep on here a few years back. But i wont buy again. I might look into the Flt level five now... any more info on this would be cool for all of us. just a sour taste in my mouth from the familliar 1-2 downshift to bouncing the rev limiter and not moving anywhere hahaha :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown:
  8. I and many others on here will tell you.. save up on an 80e swap. Although everyones driving styles differ the 60e is not enough. I and many others have invested thousands and thousands of dollars with the hope of making the 60 e hold up. and with time and abuse i will never trust one haha! over 6k invested in mine and she just decides when she wants. no info on the finish line trans but I have the patc raptor trans which they claim to be 800+ hp rated and the truck has been sitting for three months waiting for an 80 swap due to failure. I havent tore it down to know what but I wont be putting it back in thats for sure. 4L80 swap is the way to go.
  9. Another thing is the hoses are very pressureized even with the engine off, i flushed everything.
  10. guys I really need some help. I am kind of embarrassed to ask as I am a new tech at gm and all of the senior techs have never seen this problem before. I pulled heads had the pressure checked and plained. put thetruck back together step by step and it still has the same problem. have any of you ever seen one of these blocks crack? Is there anythng I am just flat out missing? truck runs like a raped ape now but it gets hot quick. I pressure checked it. I vacuume bled it. I have replaced everything but the radiator and hoses but the radiator doesn't have cool spots both hoses top and bottom are hot as hell. im lost and very discouraged at this point.
  11. Yes I swear about two hours all together of trying to bleed air pockets heater got seper hot and all hoses got very warm.
  12. I had bubbles but I assumed boiling coolant was just not cooled down. And yes oil was a bit lighter brown color but not high on the dipstick nor was it very milky. The motor is super clean especially intake valves. I will post pics tomorrow. Plugs are clean but no real signs of burning coolant. Thanks for the replies guys!
  13. Ok, im sorry I havent been around enough.. busy life ya know? So here is the deal, my father owns an 05 ss awd and it was over heating. I went through everything and found coolant leaking out of the weep hole. Replaced waterpump thermostat the whole nine yards, I have done about 10 of these so I was pretty confident. Next while trying to bleed the system i couldnt seem to get all of the air out. even when the engine was cold i couldnt take the cap off without a coolant fountain out of the resivour.o shit! tried to combustion gas test it but everytime i plugged in the plunger pressure would shoot coolant into the tool. I decided to pull the heads but have found nothing obvious. i feel stupid asking for help but its dads truck and i dont want to waste any more time. Has anyone experienced this? any opinions on where a crack may be present or do i just check the block and heads for warpage and go from there. Once again Im sorry I have been gone so long. I miss playing with my ss.

  16. Driving down the road this morning and I punched it..... You can imagine all of the BEautiful noises that came out of that. It slips into 1st no 2nd pretty solid in 3rd and no 4th, great in reverse? Wtf, The forward band maybe? Only 30.000 miles on this build complete patc raptor kit felt great this morning but something broke.it was a very harsh slam boom bang F***!!!!! noise...
