  1. X2. I used white lithium grease and it has worked for a while.
  2. He did mine as well. Does an incredible job. Only thing I will mention is if you tent the entire lens, your backup lights are worthless with stock bulbs. I have mine totally smoked, and 5% tint on my windows, and there is no visibility at night. I roll my windows down to back up, but there is very little light out of the tails. I say go for it, just keep this in mind. Love mine and I would definitely send the to Danny.
  3. My original (03) lasted till last year. Love AC batteries!
  4. I knew someone would call me out on that. Lol. I was a little over the line, but I parked way out and there wasn't any cars around, so I didn't bother backing up a foot. Came out and this idiot had crammed their nose right against the bumper.
  5. Wal Mart. Need I say more? Came outside and this is what I found. No damage, just pissed me off!!!!!
  6. Good question. Im curious too.
  7. Thanks for the pics. I plan to solder mine as well. I definitely like to do things right the first time, when possible. Just for giggles, I had Best Buy to price the the Kenwood 719 installed, retaining my steering wheel controls only. No other options. They priced me the head unit for 499, which was no bargain, and guess what the total was??? It was $969!!!!! I was mortified, of course! LOL. I can do it for less than half by doing it myself and ordering through Amazon. They turned 499 into 969 quick!!! LOL
  8. I used the G2, and honestly, I think it will take 2 kits. I did not paint mybrackets, and it took almost all of it to do 2 good coats. Another issue with my experience, is it starts getting thick and setting up before i could have gotten all 4 done. I will say though, i have been very happy with mine. Great product. Holds up well and looks great. Good luck!
  9. Awesome choice! Jealous. Enjoy them.
  10. So far the pioneer avh-p8400bh is my pick. It or the 4400. For the little price difference, think ill go ahead for the 8400. The kenwood dd719 is my third choice. Is it just my area, or is the car audio industry shrinking? In the 90's when I was all into car audio, there were several great car audio stores. Now, there is one decent one in my area, and there is best buy. All the good shops have closed up and disappeared.
  11. All great advice fellows. Thanks. Does anyone happen to have the step by step instruction that crutchfield sends out with their orders? I would buy from them, but they are so overpriced, I plan to order from amazon.
  12. Hey guys, getting close to buying my 2 DIN head unit in my SS. I am considering installing it myself. I have always had my car stereo stuff professionally installed, but I think I may try it myself. Any of you installed yours? Any suggestions or any obstacles to look out for? Is it all pretty straight forward? Any insight would help. I am mechanically minded and like working on the truck, but I generally dont mess with wiring much. Thanks in advance for any input!
  13. Cool. I have narrowed my selection to the the Kenwood DDX719, or the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH or AVH-8400BH. Thanks for all of the info guys. I am still open to suggestions of course.........
  14. Hey Justin. Hope all is well. Like the truck. Good luck in the new career as well. Tennessee is the place to be! LOL
  15. Thanks for the input. Those are some good ones for me to choose from. I see many of you are showing links to amazon. Is Amazon usually the better deal over, say Crutchfield or Best Buy?
