That is good to hear. I hope this is a good solution for us.

Awful, just awful.

They look like Weld Cheyennes for a 3/4 ton. I had the 1/2 ton version on my avalanche.

Looks good!

I was just talking to my tire guy here in town and he suggested the Cooper H/T Plus. They may be the front runner right now. I'd like to get the Michelins in a way, but I think they are going to be a lot higher. And honestly, in recent years, I have had some dry rot issue with a set of Michelins I have on my DD. I think the Coopers will run be around $170 each installed.

I am in the market for tires myself. I plan on going with a Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus. They are worth checking out.
I do like Cooper tires. I put them on my wife's Trailblazer and we have been pleased with them.
I also am considering The Goodyear LS-2. That is what is on the truck, but they were on it when I bought it, and not sure how many miles were on them when I got it.

The dreaded time has come for me to buy new tires for the SSS. Its even more painful in the fact that we own 3 vehicles and all 3 need tires. Anyway, I'm looking for 275/55-20 (origianl size) tires, in the $200 each price or less. i currently have the Goodyear LS-2 tires, whick have been okay, but I saw these Michelin LTX M/S2 tires and was interested. Anyone here run them? Do you have any other or better options? I am looking for longevity more than anything else. They dont have to be higher performance ZR compound tires or anything, just some good smooth riding tires that wont make me drop $1000 a set. Thanks for any feedback.

Great. I always wanted some TBSS wheels but they only came in 22. Glad they come in 20 now! Thanks for the info Tony! Ill order a set from you when I can!

Glad you are working through everything. That is a lot to deal with. Keep getting the help you need and i wish you contentment and happiness in the future.

Looks good. Im thinking about the clear headlights as well.

Im subscribed to this build. My hat is also off to you for resurrecting a seemingly trashed SSS and bringing it back to life. Beautiful truck. Good luck with the build!

Looks great.

Looks great. I like all your mods, but I'm really drooling over your brakes!

K&N or Mobil 1 filter here. I use the HP-2006 in K&N and teh M1-206 in the Mobil 1. They are the higher capacity filter that fits our trucks.

Welcome!

Ah, i remember see one of these and a JG Tahoe at the Chevy dealer in Knoxville back when they were new. That would be a nice toy!
-
Sucks. Glad to see you are still around though.
-
Yeah, its a bad ass looking truck. I'm not into wheels that large, but those look awesome. I even like the black versions from the original thread, and Im not generally into black wheel either?
-
Is your oil milky? Could be a blown head gasket to the inside?
-
Wow, thos do look great. Is the offset the same as SSS rep wheels?
-
Yeah, they ruined it making those mods. I saw it on another thread last week and immediately noticed all they had done. I also noticed it now has a back seat and the bottles are gone. Wheel change. The biggest screw up other thatn the cheesy fuel door and shifter knob is the Speedstur is gone. I wish like hell I could have bought it from him! Glad to see you are still around Brian. Im not on very often any more, but I still model my truck after yours.
-
I thought Corsa stopped making the touring version for the SSS?
-
Yeah, Brian has a Gaylord Speedstur with the wing. They also changed the wheels from 20 SSS wheels to the TBSS wheels. I must say, it's gone down hill since he had it. It also now has a back seat. Brian had NOS bottles there. They were trying to sell it about a year after Brian did for some huge stupid price. Dont know if this is the same guy, or if it has changed hands again or not?

Congrats.

454SS Wheel Replicas?
in Rims and Rubber
Posted
Hey guys, does anyone may replicas of the original chrome 454SS style wheels? I know they put them on standard Silverados with different center caps for years as well. They came on my 97 I bought new. I just wondered if anyone made replicas of these?
