  1. I apologize for not keeping up to date with this. I ended up spending the extra money and going with the Crosa Sport system from autoanything. I love it! I had it installed in about 45min using the lift at my work. That includes taking the old stock system off. I am very happy with the sound. Its pretty quite at idle and on the highway but has a very nice deep tone when you stand on it. Here are some videos I did right before with the stock system, right after i pulled it off the lift with the corsa system. and then after i drove it a while i took it out for an acceleration video. Stock: Freshly installed Corsa Sport: Corsa Sport rev and take off:
  2. I actually just called Corsa yesterday and asked what the differences were between the Sport system and the dB system for the SSS's so I figured I'd post up what I found out. Heres what the guy said: - Corsa Sport systems were made entirely of the higher quality 304 stainless steel (all piping, muffler, and tip) and obviously the nicer dual walled dual tip along with the nicer exaust clamps. The sound is deep and throaty. - the dB system has 409 stainless steel for the pipes and the muffler and tip are made of 304. It has the cheaper style exhaust "u" bolt type clamps and the regular slash cut tip. Sound wise he said it has a little different tone "kind of like a diesel truck sound" - BOTH have the same HP and TQ gains and dont have the interior drone that corsa is famous for elminating. He said no matter what I chose I would be happy with either system. For a definition of the different types of stainless steel I did a search and got this off of http://www.stainlessworks.net/support/frequently-asked-questions.html?SID=bo98hl53798sl3kg59cfpvd1f0#4 "What is the difference between grades of stainless steel (304, 321, 409…..?) Without getting into the specifics of metallurgical properties, 409 is what is typically used on OEM applications. It has fair corrosion resistance, is magnetic due to the high metallic content, but is a less expensive material than 304. 409 is not an ideal material for a performance/restoration exhaust system because it will turn color (brownish/rust) from being exposed to the atmosphere without ever being run. For OEM’s who never care what the exhaust system looks like, it is a decent material that will last long enough to get past the warranty period. 304 stainless steel has much better corrosion resistance and a lower metallic content than 409. 304 will not turn color from sitting exposed to the atmosphere, and will only discolor slightly from getting extremely hot. The best thing about 304 is that you can maintain it with a scotch bright pad if you ever spill oil on it or have it discolor. Stainless Works only uses Everlast 304 stainless steel, which is a premium mil spec grade of stainless steel that is slightly more expensive than standard stainless steel, but is processed much more closely and is more consistent. " Hope this help anyone else comparing the two systems.
  3. Let me know what you end up doing. I have the exact same situation right now. I need an intercooler but dont want ot pay 1200 for the one from STS.
  4. So then its no longer for sale correct? If not you might note that on the first post.
  5. I decided to buy Corsa Sport for mine to. I just started a new job and have to save up a little dough first but I cant wait!
  6. how much tread is left on the tires? I'm intrested. Also, how wide are the joe gibbs wheels?
  7. I went ahead and had a buddy that works at a used car dealer get me the factory GM pump because of the time frame I need it in. I have to have it by Friday. With his discount it was still $350
  8. I've been searching a lot and can't seem to find any topics on fuel pumps. Mine went out this weekend and I need a good replacement fuel pump. The Chevy dealer wants $496.34 and they're out of their mind! I found one at Summit for $333. I was just curious what a good replacement fuel pump would be. I am open to suggestions. Here is the Airtex pump Summit sells: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATX-E3609M/?rtype=10
  9. Has anyone tried the Hellwig air bag kit yet? I used my SS to tow my TA to a carshow this weekend and it could definately use some help in the rear suspension area.
  10. I am going to be changing ALL the fluids in mine this weekend providing i have time. My dad is an Amsoil dealer so naturally I am goining to put Amsoil in everything except maybe the transerfer case. I will probably use this AutotracII from what you guys say it sounds like its the best thing for it. My truck has 70K on it so I think it would be a good time to service everything.
  11. which drag strip? SRCA in Great Bend? There is no drag strip here in Garden City. I wish there was tho
  12. Ok i am for sure getting the truck next weekend so I went ahead and attached a pic of it on the first post.
  13. Banks also has a scoop but i probably will not order it
  14. Yeah but I'm a firm believer in the enclosed intakes so they dont suck in the hot air the engine puts off. The Volants I found were $300 but I think the Banks might be a little better than the Volant so maybe its worth the extra $60 idk.
  15. I realize i am a little late but I am going to buy these for mine after I pick it up next weekend. I just recently bought OBX headers for my TA and they fit really well! In regards to you question about the clamps, on my TA I ran a bead of High Temp silicone around where the pipes slide together and then put the clamp on. My buddy said he put OBX on another camaro and they ended up leaking so he did that and problem solved. I will probably do that on the truck when I install them also. This is on the band clamps only Hope this helps!
  16. I found it on ebay for $360 shipped. I havn't looked anywhere else yet.
  17. I have been browsing the forums daily since I joined and have been getting tons of good info! In fact I already know what LT headers and cat back I am getting. But I searched and searched and could not find anything about the Banks Ram Air CAI. I know a lot of you really like the Volant but I was just wondering if anybody has the Banks Ram Air? If so how do you like it? Does anybody have any info on them? I helped a good buddy that put a Banks on his 05 1500 Z71 5.3L about a year ago and he said then it was ridiculous how much it helped! He said if felt like he gained 40hp (which I know it didn't but thats just an example of how much he was impressed) So after his claims I went for a ride and it did feel like he did gain a lot for just a CAI system. I was surprised. I know for a fact that the CAI was the only thing he had done at the time. But like I said I wanted to here it from you guys to see if anyone had any experience with the Banks over other CAI systems. Here is the link to the kit: http://bankspower.com/products/show/308/10
  18. Thanks guys! 68showngo next time you come around let me know! McMahan I think its the best color to haha. Mainly because my past 3 vehicles have all been black and I wanted something easier to keep clean! It just happened to be that Silver was one of the colors in the SS. Rare but one of them. By the way can anyone point me in the right direction to find out many 05 AWD Silver SS's were made? scootertrash19 Thanks. Do you come out the the Airport raceway for races or what? I have a good buddy that races out there so I go out there a lot.
  19. Cool! Thanks guys! Im originally from Sharon Springs, KS... Waaaaay out west haha. I just recently moved to Garden City because I got a new job. It's not the best town but its ok. Anyone whose ever been to Garden City will know what I'm talking about. haha
  20. I already have pics of it haha I went and looked at it over labor day weekend but I dont want to post it up as mine just yet. God forbid if the deal didn't work out That would SUCK!
  21. I pretty much have the deal settled and Ill soon be the owner of a Silver Birch 05 AWD SS!
