New Pictures Of The Ss After Some Paint Work...
rroutlaw replied to rroutlaw's topic in Video & Photography
I put those under there for towing reasons. I have a switch in the cab for them and they are also wired to the reverse light circuit. Helps with hooking up trailers at night or reversing with a trailer hooked up at night, or loading and unloading the trailer. For $50 for the pair and some wire I had laying around in the toolbox they're great!! Dual 55W halogen bulbs. -
New Pictures Of The Ss After Some Paint Work...

Thanks! I've gotten some mixed opinions on the stickers. Some love them, some hate them. Thanks a lot!! Lovin' your trucks color! You bet I'm proud of her, This things gets compliments everywhere I go now. -
Finally have some decent pics of my truck! Anyone wanna hook me up with an awesome sig?

So heres my truck everyone!! Got it back in March and it was in pretty bad shape. The paint had fish-eye everwhere on the front end and the stock SS rims were missing and replaced by 16 inch black steelies, and no radio. Anyhow, this SS has now been rescued and has been made into what I think is an awesome truck!! Rims are Helo 830's 22x9.5, Cervinis hood, new paint on the front end and the bed was sanded and buffed, new rear bumper cover, Pioneer appradio headunit, dynomax superturbo muffler and 3.5" chrome tip, 10K HID's, custom CAI, rebuilt front differential, LED dome lighting. O.K now on to the pics... taken with my iPhone. Proper photoshoot to come with my weekend driver...

So i dropped off my truck at my buddy's body shop last wednesday to have my new Cervinis hood painted. Along with the hood, he's going to paint the entire front clip and possibly the doors. The truck has horrible fisheye in the paint right now so I'm going to assume the nose was repainted by an idiot prior to me buying the truck. I called to check the progress and they havent even started yet!! AHHHH! Problem is I can't really say anything because he is doing it for me as a favor. Busy as hell over there. 22's are sitting in the garage too so I cant wait to get it back and slap those bad boys on. Been seeing more SS's around queens lately and that makes me want mine back soooo much more. Hopefully by next wednesday I should have it back. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Oh Great, Another Cam Thread...
rroutlaw replied to rroutlaw's topic in Engine Tech And Modification
At 100k miles how much boost can the stock motor/driveline handle? Also how reliable are used blowers? -
I know this question is asked a lot and I did see the thread where people posted their truck/use and were recommended a cam but that thread is pretty old. Basically my truck is a stock 2004 silverado ss, i use it like a truck not a race car. it tows a good amout, and is driven as on the highway and in the city about equally. I would like to see what would be recommended for good midrange power and still have a nice lope to it. As of right now the truck has a cat back ehuaust, and a cold air intake. plans with the cam install include longtubes and a different stall converter if i need it. What do you cam experts recommend?...

Is lifting an SS really that negatively looked upon? The idea of a lowered truck is just strange to me. I've had a lifter Jeep wrangler and a slammed BMW. Dropping a truck just seems weird to me after that. Either way, I definitely need some kind of stronger shocks/suspension in the back for towing because my SS is definitely not being used as a show truck . Maybe some helper-airbags?
-
I know this is not something that is done a lot to SS trucks, but lowering the truck just isn't for me. I want to put something like a 3-4" lift kit on my SS. Would I be looking for kits that fit the silverado 1500 or are there SS specific kits/parts that I need to get to make this happen?

Im out in Manhasset. Definately need to keep my eyes peeled for the next east coast/ LI meet.

Well here she is guys!! Just got the truck washed and the interior vacummed and detailed. It needs two new rear tires which I will take care of either tonight or tomorrow, and the paint could definately use a good compounding and a wax. Other than that, I will let the pictures speak for themselves...

I'm not sure if the spare is the same, but the rims on the truck are 5 spoke steelies ( either 16 or 17) painted black. They look like the spare on my dads Escalade so maybe. I definitely will do that! Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes. Can't wait to see what this new "addiction" will bring...

Well not exactly but if all goes according to plan I will be a new SS owner on tuesday! Just to introduce myself, Im Ross from Longisland NY. Trading my BMW 540 for an 04 sSS. Been browsing through threads on here since last week and looks like this is the place to be if you have an SS. So far the truck has a Magnaflow exhaust, Custom CAI, some sort of chip (dont remember what it was), 5% tints on the windows and rear glass, black silverado steelies, tinted headlights, 10K HID's, and the bed has been RhinoLined. I will throw up some pics on tuesday when I get the truck.
