  1. *Update* Just wanted to let you guys know you were correct the 2power band and 3/4 clutch was toast. Everything else was in good shape. Cost me 765.00 to have fixed. Seems pretty high priced but glad it's fixed!
  2. Well worst news possible I was afraid I would be told that. Truck has less then 80k miles. I rarely drive the truck outside of normal this just doesn't make sense. No clue where to even start now. Guess the truck will be parked in my shop till I have the money to get it loomed at. Thanks guys.
  3. Sorry let me try and re explain. When driving the truck it doesn't shift from 1st to second unless I let off the gas or drive at a creep. then now it will do about the same to get into 3rd but its seems to not shift any further than third in normal automatic driving. It wont shift into 4th, 5th. I've tried to go through the manual shifting on the column and the gears won't shift at all. they all seem like first gear. Its just weird the only issue is it won't shift nothing else seems wrong no check engine no noise , no slamming of the transmission or slipping or anything out of the ordinary. I hope this explanation makes more sense. And I will pull fuses first thing in the morning. And if I'm still not making sense I'll get a video tomorrow to show what I mean. Thanks for your help.
  4. About 2 months ago noticed my truck would not shift into second gear unless I let off the gas. Or drove extremely slow this it would shift normal from there as long as I didn't get on it to cause it to down shift then not shift up just red line if I stayed on it. (Hope this makes sense). I have not had time to mess with it is why the wait and now more problems.......This morning on the way to work same thing then I noticed the transmission won't shift up from third from what I can tell. Nothing seems rough, no noise, beside not shifting when it should all seems fine. I think the transmission fluid level is good. Probably wouldn't hurt to get a flush. No check engine lights or anything. I am going to see if I can find a place to plug in a diagnostics. My info below shows all things done to the truck. Please folks any help would be appreciated!

    Exhaust Build!

Exhaust build complete! After all the hard work it has 110% paid off! I absolutely love the exhaust from Zach that he sold to me! The Pacesetters were a nice touch too! Zippy tune just topped it off. I could not be happier with what I have and have done! I mostly just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the help mostly Zachm89 for the setup and the help along the way! Thanks to zippy for the great tune with no problems. I will try and get a sound clip posted of the new exhaust asap. The truck needs a bath after sitting for a bit after that I will try and get one up. 1 problem now lol I cant stay off the GAS!!!!! Just loving that sound and the new added power with everything added. Thanks again everyone!
  6. No cats for me. I know a few shops that don't check. When you makethe order us the coupon code "LOYALTY". I just googled couon codes for that site and found it and it worked for me!
  7. My experience after long search. If you like PACESETTER go to www.AUTOANYTHING.com. I got free shipping and I think out the door for 365.00 had them in no time even though it said it would take a couple weeks. I also used the LOYALTY coupon code. thats how I get them at the price I did. Fast shipping very pleased. Would buy them again. Mounted up just fine just waiting on my computer to come in the mail to crank her up. I found no place even close to 365.00 shipped no tax. http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts-mufflers/61A2836A0A0A2600358.aspx Also so no confusion I got the more expensive Armor Coated ones not the cheap set that is not.
  8. Headers on, Exhaust on, K&N 77 Series on...now the dreadful wait for the PCM return....I am so ready to crank this truck on. I think I may have her in by wed. Cant wait!!!!!

  9. Alright I have everything removed started yesterday stopped before dark and finished pulling stuff this morning. Two problems along the way 1 plug wire and 1 huge problem broke a manifold bolt flush on the head. Oh and to top it off its the worst one I could have broken! Rear driverside. I have a right angle drill and its still to big to get in there to try and bring it out. I have searched and found pretty much a few options but not many and lots of folks not having much easy luck with this problem. Has anyone seen this? http://www.amazon.com/Tight-Fit-Drill-Screwdriver-Attachment/dp/B0039Q1FH4 Would it have enough power to drill and pull out the bolt? It is broke just a little tiny bit inside the head almost flush. Surely it wouldnt be worth the risk moving along and doing without that last bolt would it? I am almost thinking to go ahead and bolt it all up and take it into a shop might be cheaper then spending $40.00 on that attachment and not having any luck with it or risk making it worst. Ill keep searching doubt I will find any more info from what I found last night. Wish it had a little bit sticking out to maybe weld a nut on and then back it out that way sure does look fairly simple.
  10. I think it will work to be sure u can search magnaflows site and match part numbers to ur specific truck. Als when I was looking search ebay by part number and u will or can save 200.00 easy. I didn't end up getting them myself but I did look.
  11. Thanks guys for the additional info! And the laugh, good stuff! lol I may attempt starting tonight if not for sure tomorrow night and see how things go with it.
  12. Hell ya man that deffinately helps! Since I am doing this myself Im getting the clamps now and the plug for the pipe we talked about, I will save a little bit of money. When looking at the clamps I'm gettign I noticed the MSD 8.5 Plugs, are they worth the money? If it is worth it, is it a must to get a new round of plugs as well? I just figured if I'm removing the old one's and if the MSD were worth it why not. They are red too! lol. I think you pretty much broke everything down for me. I think there was just one thing on one of the headers that sticks out off one of the pipes that I dont think is on the factory manifold and wasnt sure what needed to be done with that. I think there is a gasket and a cover peice for like if it wont be needed/used. From what seen maybe somethign for EGR? Well thanks again for the help it has been real nice! I am ready for sat night and sun to start getting into this.
  13. Back from the Exhaust shop. Now they don't want to do my header job. LOL They did point me in the direction of another shop however his header charge is $150 just for the headers so I am thinking now I must do her myself. I'm deff up for the job no question about that but have never done it so my question to my fellows here all I really need to know is the header bolts how tight or I guess what is the torque setting for them? removing everything shouldn't be a problem and once I have the headers in I should be rolling from there. I have looked into how-to's on this without much luck no video no big details just came across guys with slight complications asking questions. So again as usual any help would be great I guess I will start tearing her down this weekend.
  14. I am waiting PM return for Zippy to tune me. Price cant be beat from what I have seen also he was highly recommended from others. Thanks guys for the info I figured as much just wanted to be sure!
  15. First off I just got my pacesetter lt's and the header back system from Zach a local guy on here. I was going to install my self mostly to say I did that, lol. Also because I like doing stuff like that for the experience and learning factor as well. However I called a local Muffler shop very highly recommended in my area. they quoted me $130.00 to do the whole deal headers and exhaust!. So I am going there this afternoon. Now my question is I may be dropping my truck off this afternoon however I don't have tuned PCM in hand yet. Mostly I will just need to driver 25-30 miles to get the truck home then park it till my PCM comes back in. Is this safe everyone I have asked are saying I need a tune which is no problem I obviously want one and need one but will I risk any chance of messing anything up on the truck after exhaust install with the PCM tuned yet? There would be no CAT's on this system if that helps. Any questions please ask as I am leaving in about 1.5 hr-2hrs. to take the truck to the muffler shop and make sure there quote over the phone was correct and check and see what they think. Thanks guys!
  16. Pacesetters just arrived at home ready to get home and take a look!!!!

    Exhaust Build!

Thanks for the heads up McMahn on the subs. I am really still in the air as far as the subs go because of the price at this point so with that in mind maybe that will help me I am not sure. I guess I better keep looking. Plenty of time though with what I have going on right now. thanks for the info!

    Exhaust Build!

Alright I have pretty much everything ordered now. Little description of my truck for the most part right now it currently sits completely stock from what I can see, feel, and hear. It is a 2004 Silverado SS AWD. Right now I just ordered a set of Pacesetter LT's to go with what seems to be a very nice used Magnaflow setup from a local member here zachm89. This is what he has described to that I will be pickup this weekend; It consists of y pipe that connects to header collectors, manual cutout pipe that you can uncap when you want the exhaust to be extra loud, single 3.5" mandrel bent tubing into a large magnaflow muffler with a turn-down.I cant freaking wait to hear this when installed!!!!! Sucks it will be a couple weeks because I have to wait for the arrival of the Headers but will be just fine. Now I am waiting on some replys back from some of the local tuner guys on this site to see who will work best for me and can get me taken care of. I was told I need to get one after that so hopefully they can get me TUNED. I will also be adding the 77 Series K&N CAI System too. Then that will be all for now. Running out of money with this till I sell some firearms I have a buyer for just waiting on the funds and I will be rolling on the stereo install. Stereo Plans: Double Din 7" wide screen GPS, DVD player, 2 kicker 12's w/ rear sub box to go under the bench, and wiring kit. I may be just going with 1 sub vs two so I have the money for the TUNE I need but not sure yet. I may just sell another gun, lol. We shall see! I am looking at $550.00 right now on the subs, amp, box, and wiring. If anyone knows of maybe a better deal or maybe a solid single setup that still puts out a nice amount of bass please let me know!! When the parts arrive I am going to try and do most work myself so I will or can post pics of the process if anyone is interested I will definitely post before and after vids of the exhaust so we can all see the big difference it should make! If anyone has anything that i should consider during this maybe to take into consideration and so on please fill me in. Any other ideas would be welcome as well. I really cant wait to see how this turns out on both builds!
  19. Alright so at this point as far as performance add ons go and with what I am learning and finding out looks like I will be going with OBX LT's and Magnaflow Exhaust system. I am interested in what you have zachm89. I will actually be going right through your area next weekend to go pick my daughter up from her grandma's. PLEASE pm me and fill me in on what you have and what you need for it. I dont know why but I cant pm you and at this time cant call. Maybe you may have what i need or something that will work for now IDK. I am also getting the 77 series K&N system. While I am here and I will search too, lol, are the pulley's worth adding onto the engine? Is there anything else I should be looking for thats not going to cost me another $1000+? I really need to do some searching on tuning and stuff. No clue about that never did it I think from what I have seen so far it makes sense and all but still dont even know where to start exactly with that. Thanks guys so far time to do some mroe research! After somesearching still not sure. As far as the tuning goes. Is this just recomended but not neaded exactly? I am getting everything I have listed so far as far as bolt ons and didnt consider a tune in the mix. (mind you im still learning here, lol) I have found 3 I can do myself Hypertech, Diablo, and Superchips. Some seem better then others I do think a better choice is going with someone on here that fully knows what they are doing but I do think having my own programmer tuner is the better option for if I add anything else or change anything else I can make the adjustments myself quick and easy. Most importantly though for now since I am about to drop so much money and here is another $300+ I will need to spend is this something I must get right now and is worth getting now and everything I am doing without it is almost a waste without it or am I safe to pass for a few months till I can get it? I have looked around for these answers with not much luck. Its easy for someone to come on here and say you shouldnt do that you may wanna try this and be done vs searching for days like I will continue to do until someone shares some info.
  20. I live in North Texas. I seen the a set of OBX headers on ebay just wasnt sure about them. I did like the price though I think they were $450.00 seemed like a good price. This would just be my first time doing an exhaust and everything is why i asked for some tips and such. Im dealing with quite a bit of money or a lot to me anyways so I want to be 110% sure I am getting what I want good products for reasonable prices. Thanks for the help I will keep looking.
  21. Now I am thinking Flowmaster . So many choices I want the best for my money flowmaster is cheaper but I think would sound better but the wht headers to chose lol
  22. I have been doing some searching and looking for Headers and a catback system. Around $1000 is where I would like to be if possible. Less would be nice but would like a nice system. I have found 2 that make both headers and exhaust. JBA is one of them and Gibson is the other. Anyone know which would be the better set up? Louder? Performance? Right now I am pretty much stock 2004 SS 6.0L. I am also getting the K&N Intake System 77 series. If anyone else has any other add-ons I should consider dont be shy, please share! So far with all this and the interior electronics I'm considering this should all keep me busy for a while, but again I maybe missing something that would be a nice addition in the performance department so please advise if there are any ideas that arent overly expensive. Side note. Will I get any check engine lights or anything with these two exhaust systems or anything? It seems pretty easy remove install not much hastle just time and work. Just want to be aware of the unexpected if possible. Thanks everyone!
