  1. I then made a template out of cardboard to get dimensions: And then turned that into the buffer/baffle using .025" steel: Added an inlet tube using copper pipe attached to the inlet port: Used the ole trusty JB weld to install and seal buffer/baffle in the can: And added stainless steel scrubber material in the outlet side to promote condensation of oil vapor: I attached my catch can with some spare brackets, nuts and bolts I had laying around to the alternator bracket and ran my 3/8" PVC hose. Pics of catch catch can installed:
  2. After much research, I decided that these engines can benefit from a catch can and that I could make an effective one while saving a few bucks. A lot of credit to guys on LS1tech and Morphs on the Grrrr8 forum. I purchased an Ebay 'catch can' and modified it with parts from my local Lowes store. All said and done, I have right around $50 bucks invested in this set up including the purchase of the catch can. Here's the Ebay can I purchased: Not much to see on the inside:
  3. I am by no means a wiring expert, but with the key on: wouldn't the gauge max out when you unplug the connection from the sending unit. Likewise, you should be able to use a multi-meter/probe and ground the 12v source on the harness side and the gauge should go to 0 psi. This would rule out faulty gauge/stepper motor and point the problem to a bad sending unit. Somebody else feel free to chime in.
  4. What was your final drop after install? Did you happen to measure before/after?
  5. Or you could privately purchase a hand gun from someone. Virginia has to be one of the easiest states to sell firearms in. Anyone can sell you their gun as long as they know that you can legally possess one (i.e. military id, other state cocncealed carry permit usually work)
  6. Direct bolt on to oem cat back set up. The mid pipes stay two separate pipes all the way.
  7. Yea, I just ordered a set of headers and mid pipes a couple weeks ago. Called ARH directly and the best price they could give was exactly what they listed on their website. I ended up ordering from Texas Speed for a little better price ($1400 or so). Despite not having them on the shelf, the delivery was pretty quick. I had them in less than two weeks.
  8. Looks good. Love my PSA upper. I have a 15" M-Lok rail chambered in 5.56. Have you noticed any price decreases since the election, or pretty stable?
  9. I'm definitely not a cam expert, but the few reviews that I read over on pt.net everyone said their trucks really woke up about 3000 rpms with the stage 3. I might be pulling the trigger on a BTR stage 3 to go with a yank 3000 I have sitting around.
  10. Curious if anyone has experience with the BTR Truck cams in these trucks? I just saw another member post about possibly installing one.
  11. Correct, with either of the new cams and higher stall you should be quicker out of the hole. What is the gains that you want exactly? Just to not be sluggish off the line? I forget what the specs are on the BTR stage 4, but my understanding is that they would be optimal in the higher RPM range.
  12. These trucks do not have an LS2 in them. I'd recommend researching around the forum a little more before diving into that project.
  13. Where did you end up ordering the EBCs from?
  14. I have this same problem. It's pretty annoying, so I'll have to try this repair as well.
  15. I'm completely stock performance except for a K&N CAI and I ran 14.88 friday night at the track...
  16. Good deal man. You'll get that R/T down too the more runs you make
  17. damn. and from what i'm reading, chevy won't do anything for me since mine is an 03 with 81k miles? that's garbage.
  18. Hey guys, just went to the strip for one last time this season. I made six good runs no problems, and on my seventh and final run my CEL came on halfway down the track. Had this happen earlier this year and it was just an O2 sensor. I thought it might be the same thing, but when I left the track and headed down the road (prolly going 65), I noticed my speedometer only read 35 mph! It stayed below 35 on the speedo and when I was actually running less than 30, it read 0 mph. I know about all the stepper motor issues, is this my problem and do you think it was related to running at the track? Thanks guys.
  19. No front license plate required here in pennsylvania...
  20. apparently down force doesn't help fender benders. haha look at his right rear
  21. holy crap. gotta love them scy-tys
  22. What do you mean no idea? you can't look at the inserts and see if there are any holes for mounting? Tapping screws or rivets would be your best bet
