  1. My service air bag message came on after paralell parking in the city. Is it possible having my wheel cut to the max could have broke the clockspring, maybe it was worn out? 125k on the truck,, Any other common causes? Ive read about a loose connection under the truck under the seat area somewhere? I have broke my clockspring once before changing my power steering box on my 2500hd and didnt lock the steering column and it rotated to far i got one used for 100 bucks and my mechanic put it in for 50 hopefully its something simple like this.

  5. How about twisting the keys? ... If i had a set of shackles for 50 bucks that gave me 2" i would only need an inch in the front do they really hurt your truck that bad for just an inch?

I havent figured out the search feature very well apparently im sure this is covered but im wondering if i do shackles and spindles how much it will effect my towing capacity and how it rides with it. I only tow 2 sleds at the most usually would be heaviest so i dont think ill have a problem there im just curious Also just got some jdm switchback parking lamps and some 5w6 ohm resistors. There was a thread about these not to long ago and im not sure if he ever ended up explaining how to installl resistors and where. Do you just cut the "hot" and put the resistor between it
  8. How do I make my mirrors fold in on my 03 ss. Once by chance, they automatically did it. Never had i ever been able to make them do it again I press the center of the directional button i thought that was how but it doesnt work. Thanks!

  10. Im currently in the process of getting a tune ( toni'ght!! got some emails out) but anyway yah im also wondering how much for a spare id like to keep mine and get a tuned one sent and just pay for it.
  11. also he put in a 190 or 195 i forget but its still running 210 hopefully now it wont go above that atleast but its not cooler at all. It seems to get to 210 within 15 minutes in 70* weather. Is this normal truck has 124k and this is after the new tstat and a coolant flush

Wow thanks for all the great info, it was at the mechanics and im positive he doesnt do half of this stuff but the 160 he got didnt fit so he put in a regular replacement to get me up and running. I will be doing the 160 myself now with all this info present. My other question is im doing a mail order tune so i plan on doing both at once my question is about the ecu installation, it cant be as easy as swapping them out? are there security problems or anythihng
  13. Today it was 3/4 and its sparatic as it always has been. My mechanic beleives its the thermostat so im getting a 160* tomorrow is the truck going to run alright while i wait for a tune
  14. So i replaced the fan clutch assembly as it was the cheapest route at this point. About a week or two later in no more than 80* weather its tipping 210 again, im going to get my coolant flushed and cleaned out to make sure theres nothing in it but do you guys have any idea the next step and which direction i should look it. BTW the most recent time it did it today the truck had been sitting for about 4 or 5 hours and i took a 5 minute ride and it was tipping 210

Once again i got something in the mail and ripped into my truck the same night and came up short on time because some things never want to work right the first time and now i dont have my daily driver for tomorrow! I have an 03 SSS w. 6 Disc In Dash Changer I have a Peripheral PXDP http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1439.l2649 and a PXHGM3 harness for 03-06 silverados It says theres a seperate harness used to retain factory external cd changers and it specifically says it is NOT talking about the indash Anyway it come with a cord for ipod and harness that has 2 plugs one that goes into the radio and the other into the socket that use to plug into the radio The main radio harness stays the same besides splicing in the 12v constant and ground. there are 8 dip switches on the unit and 1 3 and 8 are on and thats how they are supposed to be. I read you can flip 6 for 6db extra sound but i do not feel this is the answer because i cant hear anything but a faint static If i unplug the harness and plug it back in it makes a quik pop thru the speakers I got a special cord that is made by them to be able to charge new ipods and iphones. The phone charges fine It says i need to disconnect cd changer but idk home The radio reads pdx1000 or something on xm2 and there is static and my ipod was on play Please help!!

  17. I didnt have the funds for efans yet but i appreciate all the input. Put an new fan cluth assembly in and the truck seems maybe 5* cooler? Still always over 200/ The clutch fan did not spin freely when truck was off now it has resistance
  18. The fan clutch motor spun pretty freely when the truck was off so I replaced it and it runs at about 195 now. I plan on flushing the system and getting a 160* Installed at the same time as my intake just waiting to splurge on a tune. Anybody heard of REVOLUTION TUNING in Hampstead NH? I know its a longshot.... Thanks for all the very good help
  19. So first of all I think I am doing something wrong when using the search feature because I know there's already been a thread on 85% of my questions but I can't seem to get the right results.. Anyway my truck is mechanically stock and always runs at atleast half way (210) sometimes a little past and every once and a while 3/4 of the way to RED! I know running it hot can do serious damage. Anyway, a member told me to check out the clutch fan assembly which I have yet to do. Has anyone else ran into this and what was it. Also I am wondering what the E-Fans are all about and if the fans and or a Tstat can help my problem after it's fixed to prevent it happening again. The truck is an 03 with 123k Thank you for your help.
