The guy i recently bought my truck from informed me at the time of sale that he had done the thermostat recently among other things. The truck always runs at 210 and sometimes a little over half on 90 plus days. Once or twice a month it will be running at 3/4 but the motor does not appear that hot. Sometime on warm days it will be running down at 170. My question is there a certain thermostat they put in the SS than the 5.3 ect silverados, could i have the wrong one or is this normal?

Yeah the truck and frame are clean as a whistle, the 3m autobahn or the rockers really helps. I probably should save my money for upcoming repairs but thats no fun....

Thanks that's what I needed to here, I tend to have a money spending issue when it comes to vehicles I'm anal, get them mechanically perfect and everything worked out, a couple additions wheels ect and then get bored and sell them. Anyway, the SS is my favorite and a keeper and it has 120 but its a one owner and it was an older gentlemen and it was BABIED and he had ocd big time the thing is spotless and the 3m autobahn did wonders for the paint but it had done its job so i took it off the sides and mirrors before i polished truck and it really pops now the stuff was getting dull, i left it on the front end, rockers, and door sills. Also, I just did the exhaust ( muffler and back ) for now and i want to buy an intake and then a tune and it should be decent correct? Any other basic MUST HAVES? Also what kind of intakes do you guys run and what is the best bang for the buck intake/bang for the buck tune. I dont need a special one just the premade ones I would imagine would be cheaper and fine. The truck is my DD

I just got my SS with 121k and have put 1k on it. The tranny hasnt been touched so sometime someday it will need to be serviced which will be pricey. In you guys opinions is there a limit i should put on what i put into the truck because of the high miles? Im not sure if im wording this right. Wheels and tires are a definate because they can be sold but would you bother start doing the motor, body word ect? Let me know what you think!

I had a set of those 24" u2-55s on my 00 rcsb, love them and their nice clean sporty look. I love the 24s on SS's unfortanutley theyre heavy and all but they fill out the wheel well so nice everytime I go with 22's im kicking myself in the a$$ wishing i went bigger

Just paid 9000 for my 03, found it on craigslist and talked the guy down 2 grand, its got 120 but you would NEVER know it, I've had plenty of vehicles and I dont think miles are everything especially when its a one owner thats meticulous, Congrtulations man that thing looks super clean ive got the same one!

Yeah he said he paid 2gs its along the bottom including rockers right to the rear quarters and also did door sills and mirrors i took the mirror pieces off just to see and the paint looks brand new, its tough to leave on but will be worth it. where do they sell chrome ducts those sound nice never seen them before

Nice, im 20 minutes from the track. The truck has 120 but was driven by an older gentlmen on the highway and he bought it new, it has 3m autobahn over the whole truck the paint body and interior are immaculant its ridiculous paid $9000 with brand new tires rotors calipers and pads all around new hub front right water pump thermostat idler arms and pitman arm. Stole it!! Pumped i love this truck its a keeper had 7 gm trucks and none compare. Good to be here!
