  3. Welcome from eastern NC, I did the same thing and joined but delayed my introduction, I wish I hadn't, there have been a lot of awesome people and resources I could have been using to get my build going during all that time inbetween.
  4. in my opinion its probably not a bad idea to go overboard with checkin it all out, i cant imagine sittin for 3 months would do any sort of good on any of the brake and p/s stuff where fluid has just been chillin in lines and reservoirs, or lack of fluid etc... the alternator i dunno, im not a mech, just throwin in my 2 cents.
  5. waitin on parts to upgrade the 80e and waitin on the 243's to come back from gettin spiffed up, then maybe i can finish this build

i might could try, im not doing a whole lot of the work myself, but i will try and get some pics when i can once the ball gets rollin with it all, basically the big hold up is waitin on the trans parts so i can hold the power then waitin on the heads so i can slap it all together at once up top, heads/ cam/ procharger/ etc. ive never done any sort of build so itll prob be pretty rough, i might wait til i get to japan and do it from there just to have something to do haha... thatll be by th...

  6. use these resistors, one per side for the turn signals 50w 6 Ohm , mine no longer hyperflash and i have led everything minus hid high/low/fog.
  7. congrats, do they have any shows going locally in late oct early nov? i should be back there for a couple weeks in that time frame
  8. I agree with you aSSet, things should be taken care of by the dealerships... I WOULD go back and do it all over again if I was afforded the opportunity and as some others stated do the mods a bit differently... when I bought mine the previous owner had installed a home made lowering kit on the rear end, when he put it all back together the rear axel was not in straight. on top of that, his lowering kit caused the housing to tilt so far forward that everytime the driveshaft spun it was literally beating the heads off the bolts holding it all together. anyways, the dealership i bought it from woudnt fix it unless i drove it back to them 3.5 hours away and wouldnt have it towed there at their expense, and because it was lowered the extended warranty wouldnt touch it. basically i got hosed, but it got fixed, and now its lowered again the right way thanks to the people on this site offering sound advice. the whole point is dont count on the dealerships because as i learned most of them are just out to make a buck and will pawn the responsibility off on someone else. to play devils advocate against myself... the dealership i took it to when i got it raised back to stock and the axel put back in the right way was exceptional and only charged me one hour of labor for what took 4 plus hours due to complications removing the home made kit.
  9. in my opinion it's easier to deal with the question of should i sell it, than the regret of actually doing so
  10. that sucks, but you can't put a price on being happy...
  11. welcome from eastern nc, like The_aSSet said, it was likely some sort of electronics that they cut out, i know my remote start/ alarm runs through there, perhaps they had something like that...
  12. truck already looks good its an SS, just lower it a bit more and make it to go faster...
  13. I find humor in the fact that it has a "496 cubic inch engine with 8.1 L"...
  14. The sad part is there is someone out there that will pay it.
