  1. I am trying to get some general opinions on what color I should paint my SS. I want something different. Every one I have seen is either Black, Blue, Red, or that goldish color. I was thinking about a medium-dark gunmetal, flat black rims, tags, and bumper vents. Anyone have any other ideas?
  2. I am looking into putting a new radio in my truck. Was looking at a Sony 7" screen. Is there anyway to have it installed while still being able to use the steering wheel controlls? The people at the car audio store said its not possible. Just wondering if it is impossible or if they just dont know what theyre talking about.
  3. Check out RockAuto.com. Theyre $80 on there... Shipping was the expensive part. They come black and shipped for about $175

I am about to buy an EdgeTuner. Just wondering if it worth the money. A friend of mine bought one for his diesel and had pretty good gains all around. I know it is different for gas. They advertise a 29hp, 30ft/lbs and a couple extra miles to a gallon gain. Does anyone have any insight as to whether it is worth it or not? Its going to be about $380. Or is there something else I should do that is around the same price? I already have an intake and exhaust.
  5. Alright. I was thinking that set up was too good to be true honestly. I am weary of buying used things. I bought a "rebuilt" supercharger for the car I had before I bought this truck and it had so much rattle to it that I ended up having to have it rebuilt again. But, as far as forced induction goes, any particular things i need to do to the engine to make it last? I know the tranny is a definite thing that needs work.
  6. Honestly, I cant find a supercharger set up within a reasonable price range. The cheapest I have found was around $4500-5000. A little more than I am looking into spending. I found a twin turbo kit, all pipiing, intercoolers, hoses, and everything else for $1500. I know I need to do some work to the tranny, it can barely handle what power the truck has now, so I have every intention on replacing it before the turbos/supercharger goes on. Where can I find a good tranny? I have about 4-5K to drop into it the truck...
  7. I am guessing the general consensus here will be to supercharge, rather than twin turbo, but I would look like to know what other mods will be necessary while twin turboing my SS. Will the stock motor be able to handle some boost. I dont plan on having a ridiculous amount of boost running through it, probably just 9-11 PSI like most stock turbo/supercharged cars push. Just wondering what I should have done to the motor before I drop money on the TT set up.
  8. I definitely didnt buy it for the gas mileage lol. I figured it would be ok on the highway though, but it stays about the same no matter how I drive.
  9. Yup it was on this site that I saw the ad. Here is the link that was posted http://www.gfchips.com/chevroletsilveradoc1500.aspx
  10. I am not sure what the other exhausts sound like, but I just had flowmaster super 10's put on my truck last week. They sound good and theyre pretty cheap.
  11. Well it looks like everyon has the same opinion so I wont do it lol. Just wanted to make sure. Another question, I saw a computer chip advertised on here last night for it that is supposed to add between 5-8 mpg, and 60-80 hp. Just wondering if anyone else has purchased anything of this sort or if the ad is over exagerating.
  12. Hello, I just have a quick quesiton. I am about to drive my SS 1800 miles and am wondering if it is ok to take of the front axels and driveshafts, and if it will cause any problems. On my last truck, I could do this and there were no problems, but that was just 4x4, not AWD. Any feedback would be great. Thanks
