  1. what are most of you guys running? an h-pipe? x-pipe? or just straight. im wanting to put headers, cats, and muffler, but im looking at doing it all custom since there aren't many options for mid pipes and complete exhaust systems for these trucks. i was just wondering if anyone is using an h-pipe or if it helps?
  2. i agree, looks awesome. i need some brackets as well.
  3. where are you getting all these parts from? where is teh best place to get them?
  4. looking at putting a camshaft in my truck. I want to keep it as a DD but would like the extra power that a mild cam will give you. ive read on some posts that they recommend changing the stock torque converter as well. is this true? are the stock verter's junk? what is a good converter that is good for a daily driver? Thanks, Chris
  5. well, ive just had a 50 series before and i dont' want anything with alot of drone? what about the flo pros? or maybe a magnaflow large muffler?
  6. looking at putting a flowmaster 50 series on my truck and some high flow cats. should i use long tubes or shortys? don't really see any full flowmaster cat backs with 50 series mufflers. does anyone know if they make them ? any sites that are good for performance parts and exhausts? id like to do a full exhaust without any custom pipe cutting, but i am having a hard time finding parts for these trucks. any help...??? Chris.
  7. i just changed my oil, when i started it up with the fresh oil for the 1st time. you could hear the knock really clearly for a couple seconds. Then i guess the oil pump pumped oil into it and quietened it down a little. Do you guys think i will have any crank problems or any major problems taht will require machining? i mean the trucks oil pressure is fine, it actually runs fine and doesn't seem to have lost any power. it just knocks at 2500 rpm. Thanks, Chris PRater
  8. here is a video of my knocking. i just uploaded it to youtube.
  9. should i take it to a chevy dealership and let them check it? before i start to tear down my engine? what does it usually cost to replace a rod bearing?
  10. yes run 93 octane. its not a tick like a lifter, more of a rattle like an old exhaust held wide open with a big hole in the muffler. the tech said he could feel it in the oil pan. i have not tried to feel it. its still at the shop.
  11. i have a 2003 ss silverado awd. Im looking to put long tubes and a full exhaust ( with cats ). i want it for the performance aspect and not the loud roar of an exhaust. Id like a deep tone but nothing much louder than stock. I like to use mine for a dd. any suggestions? Thanks, Chris Prater
  12. just bought my silverado ss last week. When i run the truck and it gets warmed up, you can hear a loud rattle when you punch the truck. Its not a knock but more of a fast rattle. The local garage told me it was prob a rod bearing. It happens at about 3k rpm when its warmed up and if you really punch it its more obvious. Normal driving, you don't hear it. also when its cold you don't hear it as much. The truck has 69k miles on it and its a 2003 awd. it doesn't seem to have lost any power and oil pressure is staying good. Any advice? Thanks, Chris
