  1. Hey cmoney23, do you know about how much the front end drops with per full turn of the torsion key bolt? I am needing to level mine out here soon
  2. im rocking the stock tire size....I believe its 275/55/r20.... don't quote me on that though lol
  3. Yeah I got the lca's, I was on the fence about djm as a whole but I dig em now
  4. I'd dare to say it rides better then stock
  5. yeah I am way too picky to do any wheel shopping at this point lol, Before I had my SS I had an Audi and I love the types of wheels that go with the VW/AudI scene. I would love to see what some CCW classic wheels or rotiforms would look like on the truck, I feel it could be really awesome or just horrendous lol but thats way to much money to gamble on unless some one wants to do a lil photoshoping for me???
  6. After almost a year of debating with myself I finally went ahead and dropped my truck. I went with the DJM 3/4 kit with the Belltech SP shocks. I had intended on doing a C-notch just for extra clearance, but the shop I had do the install didn't feel comfortable with the kit (something about the notch sat an inch further forward then where the axle would be on the 3/4) so I went without it. At first I thought it was a huge mistake because after I had picked up the truck, the rear was banging like crazy. I went ahead and crawled underneath the next morning and noticed that they had put the new 1/2" bump stop in the original bump stops little box frame (which stuck out further then the bump stop lol). So I went ahead and unbolted the little bump stop box and bolted the new 1/2" bump stop to the frame (not sure if your supposed to do this) but ever since I have done that it rides like a dream. I figured for towing I could get some helper bags down the road. Anyways on to the pics! Before: After: pesky bump stop box I still need to bring the front down another 1/2" or so, the front seems to sit a tad bit higher then the rear, figured I would give it a week to settle then maybe mess with the torsion bars a little bit. Let me know what you guys think as far as whats a good set of helper bags to go with! So far though I am very pleased with this kit!
  7. I think I am the opposite, I love the big tire look, but to each their own!
  8. looks great, got the same kit getting installed this week, this just got me more hyped!!
  9. Spent sometime tonight under the truck looking at the frame, after seeing that the frame wasn't a full rectangular frame all the way through and then seeing how the belltech kit is put together all of my worries went away! I will be continuing on with the cnotch as planned. Thanks everyone for your comments!
  10. I think that might be the route I end up taking. I am not so much afraid of reselling as I plan on keeping this truck for a long time, I'm just not sure I want to shell out the extra cash at the moment for the shop fees if it isn't nessacary. I do plan on hauling a coue of four wheelers every now and then (one in the bed and one in a trailer) but that would be the extent of it. It just seemed that a lot of people claimed that they had wished they had gone with a cnotch on that kind of drop, so I got it just incase.
  11. I have officially orderd the djm 3/4 kit, complete with belltech sp shocks and the belltech c-notch kit. When talking to the installer he acted as if the c-notch was unnessacary as I wasn't going low enough to need it. However I have read a few times in the past that those who have have gone with the a 3/4 drop either eventually went with the c-notch or wish they had. My theory is if I have all the parts already I might as well do it all at once. So is there any reasons as to why I shouldn't do it? Will c-notching the frame effect my towing capabilities? (Keep in mind I got the belltech kit that boxes in the frame)
  12. havent you said in the past that djm a arms and drop keys are not a good combo? How does that thing ride? looks great
  13. Option 1 is what I plan on going with! So that has my vote lol
  14. Love the red one and the ccw's. Contemplated on getting a set for the SS, I have yet to see a vehicle that they looked bad on!
  15. You know I wondered about that, my uncle has a similar design on his lightning and he said that if you go with a flat black to have it with a semi gloss because it will last a lot longer and is easier to clean, I figured I'd talk to the paint guys and see there thoughts, if all else ill just go with vinyl. Oh and cmoney23 the app is called color splash
  16. Yeah I have toyed with the idea of that as well, also thought about getting a cowl hood and doing it, but for some reason I am kinda stuck on the look of the factory hood lol
  17. Playing around with an app on my iphone, started to have my thinking about going two tone on the hood... what do you all think? I would do it in a flat black and would really like to have a 1/2" victory red pinstripe offsetted about 1" from the border.
  18. Makes me want to build a rcsb ss clone sooo bad
  19. I think they cover that in this how to, hopefully this helps http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/suspension/0901tr_chevy_silverado_belltech_lowering_kit/viewall.html
  20. mcgaughy's has a 3" drop spindle? or is it 2" with 1" from adjusting torsion keys? I love the look of yours with the meatier tires and what not
