Make sure you follow torque specs to a T. And also make sure you have a reputable torque wrench.

I'm tuning my truck and got everything dialed in spark and fuel wise, but what are you guys setting shift points at. I have mine going into second at 5800 and then the rest at 5600. Would it be safe to assume that I can turn the rest to 5800? I've got the line pressure turned up and the shift quickness turned up as well. What do you guys do?
-
And why would GM go away from something proven reliable and proven to put power down.
-
Well north of 400. Whoa... That is some serious flow!!!!!!
-
That's what I was getting at.
-
Nope definitely not lol. Psi is pressure, inhg is inches vacuum.
A 2 bar map will read past 14.7 inhg. But will not read past 14.7 psi.
-
The map sensor will read more than 14.7 vacuum. Figuring that a healthy motor will idle in between 18 to 21 without a hub overlap cam. 2 bar maps will only read 14.7 pressure. Reason it being call a manifold absolute pressure sensor.Yes and yes. It came of off my 2004. And a 2 bar sensor reads 14.7psi of vacuum and 14.7 of positive boost in kpa terms it reads 205 kpa

If you're going boosted just run a SD tune. A lot easier than running both. Just saying. If I hit 15lbs of boost will that even matter and I can add this and still run the MAF and not have to swap to an sd tune right.
just add this on when I mount everything and have the setup tuned and run it
-
I have yet to see a 408 on here outrun a 370.408 for boost.
-
Also have to take in account CV axles.
Let me add more to my statement. Not only do you have to take into account stretching the boots and joints, you also have to take into effect the angle of the outer joints. Where does all the grease inside going to run too. Away from what needs to be lubricated. Just some food for thought.

14.7

Wow, yea I'm in Detroit area. I plan on somewhat the same setup. Except I'm doing l92 heads. I'm planning on using the truck manifolds flipped, what did you use?
-
Dude where are you at in Michigan??? Would love to meet up and look at your truck
-
Holy shit.......
-
Sweet. Yea I'll be using the truck manifolds reversed and welding 2.5 inch v bands on the ends.
-
I have quite a few plans. Forged 370, l92 heads, BW s480.... I think you get the idea.
How about you guys????

Well I just hope that it is cooler when I run in November. I feel I can squeak a 14.7 out of it.
-
Damn lol
-
What was the DA? I'm hoping in early November it will be cooler.Just ran the DA for your track at the time of the pass. You get good weather for racing!

I plan on taking it out one more time this year before it goes into hibernation with my AMC. So I can try it in tow haul mode and see if that makes a difference. I don't think it will because the shift points will be the same.Did you try it in tow haul mode? Curious to see how the times would be compared to the regular drive mode. I agree those times are great for hotlapping. Have a tonneau cover on the truck?
And yes I do have a tonneau cover on it. Everything is also stock weight. Even had the spare in it as well.
-
It was the 5.0 V8Was that an ecoboost? Or the v8?
I agree. Right out of the hole it ran a 15.1. And I hotlapped the crap out of it and continued to run 14's. I was leaving the hole anywhere from 12 to 1500 RPM.Impressive for stock

-
I agree. But a 14.8 out of a stock truck, I am very happy. I feel that I could get it a little quicker.
And considering that earlier in the year I was running a 15.4, I think I got the truck going pretty well.
