  1. Threw a rod in my SS. Picked up a 408 block for $700. Anybody got any suggestions on what pistons, crank, and rods to get for boost? I have a P1sc procharger with about 8-10# of boost at the moment. I haven't decided yet if i want to change heads. What would be a good boost cam? So cam, intake, and roatating assembly if you had to choose for your truck!

  2. Threw a rod and chunks of pistons out my oil pan. Pushed the oil pan so hard to the side that it threw my starter off my flexplate and broke the tabs off my starter. Is there anybody that has experience with Texas speed short blocks? Thinkin about going with a 408 if i have to rebuild. Want to build it for boost? Anybody got any good prices on blocks or any experience with any builders let me know. Thanks in advance

  3. Got my truck back today after the wreck. Took it for a spin from the body shop and noticed the wheel wasn't centered and it took an extra turn to make the blinker go back off. So I took it to the shop only to notice a puddle of oil under the truck. Saw the trail of oil running down the diff housing and rubbed my finger across it to find out the housing is cracked. Not really looking to spend a grand on a front diff any suggestions?

  4. It should be at the house any day now. Took about a month for the insurance company to come to the conclusion to total it. They gave me 18800 for the truck with a 2k buy back. I got it back plus 16800 and got to keep the clean title because of its age. The frame is straight. Its costing me like 6k to fix it and im upgrading to a cowl hood and electric fan also. So now im going to take a little bit of that extra $$ and do some performance mods. I only paid 15,500 for the truck and its paid for so after fixing it I will have 10k in my pocket plus a clean title SS that I could probably sell for 15 or 16k so I say I did pretty good lol

  5. Current mods on my 03 SS are p1-sc procharger with 3.85 pulley on 8#. Obx lt headers, ls9 injectors, walbro 255 in tank, 4l80e swap with circle d 3600 stall. I want to add a intake, cam, meth injection and possibly heads. What is a good cam for boost? Also im on the fence about whether or not to upgrade the heads or not. Doesn't boost go down when you upgrade the heads? Or does the better flow make the boost levels less important? Im wanting a good set of heads but don't want to break the bank with 2k heads. Just a little help will be appreciated. A buddy is going to order all of my stuff for me and wanted to know if I wanted ls3 heads. I didn't want to buy an intake for my stock heads then want to upgrade later and have to get a different intake. Thanks

  6. But I was wanting to do a cam and intake and I cant see sinking 8k in the truck plus another 3k in parts and not being able to sell if for what I have in it because of the salvaged title..so I think im going to buy the truck and have all the parts for a reg cab clone with a good title...

    A woman pulled out in front of me and i hit her driver side door. The insurance company totalled the truck. They are offering me 17k plus a 2k buy back. So I get the truck back and 15k. Its a no brainer for me to buy the truck back for my procharger and the 4l80e swap I just did, but im having a hard time making the big decision. The truck has 112000 miles on the clock and it is going to cost around 4-6k to fix it. As much as I love the truck im debating on whether to sink 6k into a truck with a salvaged title that I will never fully recover my money. Or part ways with the truck and part it out and make a little extra cash to go with this 15k and buy another project truck.

  8. Well I ended up doing just the turn signals for right now. I was just going to black out the amber parts and paint the black edge pieces, but when I masked it off so It didn't spray on the chrome the tape stuck and pulled some of the chrome off where it had been bubbled up...soooooo I just decided to paint the whole piece black. I will post up pics when I get a chance. I still have to finish the headlights but i'm going to try to be more careful when I mask the lights off. I actually need the chrome on the headlights so it's not dim lol

  9. I didn't mean for this to turn into a big legal deal. I just wanted to see if yall thought it would look good all black....not just if I should for legal reasons. Would it look good with the turn signals black with the headlight still chrome?
