  1. So with the suggested 90mm parts, full exhaust... What kinda rwhp are we looking at and what kinda track times do we expect? Would it need a real tune after the full exhaust and additional 90mm parts? Will the 65le hold up if its not constantly ragged on? Should I get a stall? And suspension mods to hook? Not lowering the truck so its gotta stay stock height to some extent. Again 99% of this truck will be on the street having fun. I don't have to drive it everyday and I have only put roughly 6k miles on it since May 19th, and that includes a trip from Dallas to FL, and back.. It will see under 10k a year. Currently has 33,xxx However, I do like to go to the local 1/8 when I have time. Since its RWD I knwo i will have traction issues, but i figure a good tire can cure that at the track. THANK YOU ALL so far for the excellent responses!
  2. Gotcha. Looks like ill be looking into a LS2 TB then with the X-Link EDIT: Where the heck do you get this 90mm said j tube? EDIT2: From the maggy site, it looks like the intake tube is on the front of the Supercharger... Is not right? Why am I confused? http://www.magnacharger.com/images/PRODUCT/large/50.jpg
  3. Stupid question. what is a j-tube? I am familiar with the rest. The TB can be sourced from a TBSS right?
  4. Hello all. Just to start off I did read a TON of forums before posting. I came to the conclusion after searching that I am still a little confused lol. ***THIS WILL BE A STREET TRUCK, WITH TRACK USE WHEN I HAVE TIME*** I plan on dropping a shift kit and the vette servo in the 4l65e. Does it need to be built? Does anything else need to be added? Will this truck need a stall? I also plan on full exhaust. Headers/Hi-Flow or no cats... What kind of intake/throttle body will I be needing to make this a efficient as possible? I already have a Volant CAI. With the extra exhaust/possible intake mods, will the standard radix tune suffice or should i get it custom tuned? With a good tire. What kind of times do you see this setup running in the 1/8? Does it need suspension mods to hook up? Only concerned with the 1/8 as that is what is around me or that I car to run. What kind of power does this combo normally put down? I do appreciate any and all comments. I know alot of people are proly tired of seeing these threads, but its alot of money just to throw away not to be sure. THANK YOU ALL for any comments suggestions
  5. Yea the color is almost dead on. It does have metallic in it, but not very noticeable. The clear coat hides most of the metallic. Very happy with the results!

  7. I created a thread earlier last week asking if anyone knew the color to the grey on the bottom of the bumper so that I could paint the BowTie to match. Unfortunately there is no color code for it. Went to Lowes and found a pretty damn good match. Rust-Oleum - High Heat Ultra. Silver Metallica color. This color is damn near exact to the grey, but it does have some metallic in it. Cannot tell a big difference unless you really study both the bumper vents and the bowtie. Once it dried i put a clear coat on it. Rust-Oleum - Acrylic Enamel. Gloss. Crystal Clear. IMO it looks very good and way better then the black i had on the bowtie. Gives the front more of a pop. Wanted to just give my .02 on what i used to get the look i got. Very happy with it. Feel free to move it wherever it needs to go.
  8. Dang.. i wonder if the dealer knows
  9. I currently have a black SS and the front bowtie is black. I am wanting to make it the same grey/silver color that the brake vents in the front are. Any idea what the exact color is or where i can get it?
  10. Hoping I didnt just make a huge mistake. I love the fact that my goodyear ls's are not rubber band tires. I got the SAME size in the NT420, (275/55/r20), But every pic online shows the widewall being significantly shorter then my goodyears. Is this correct or am I retarded? May have spazed over nothing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/89485914@N00/6980302744/lightbox/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/89485914@N00/7126386485/lightbox/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/89485914@N00/7126389277/lightbox/ Should be exactly the same
  11. Absolutely!! Me and ThatDavidKid were able to swap parts and get both trucks done in one day. PS: THEY DO MAKE A 18mm Spark Plug Wrench!! LOL Afterwards: Then I turned the Keys today, roughly 4 1/2 turns, to bring up the front more level with the back. There is still slightly more then a 1 inch rake, but will be good cuz I will be hauling/towing with this truck.
  12. Just ordered Nitto NT420s for my RWD. I have stock tires on the truck now, at 28k miles, they still have tread, but are dry rotted, obviously. they are 8 years old!! If I currently take a turn and barely hit the gas, it fishtails. Hoping to eliminate that with the Nittos. Will post and let yall know! GREAT THREAD btw
  13. Dumb question. But my truck has electric fans. Did it come that way from factory? 2005 ss rwd
  14. Ah well. Glad they work now. Thanks for quick responses
  15. That fixed it. What a headache lol. Thanks for quick replies. Mod can delete the thread. Came from ddm backwards
  16. Anyone tell me why they are not working? I've installed HIDs in all my vehicles and never had issues. They don't fire at all and doesn't matter if I swap ballasts or bulbs.
  17. perfect. thanks all. i ordered it without like 10 days ago, and didnt want them to get here and need it then have to wait another 2 weeks. I plan on keeping the daytime running lamps and everything. DUMB question... can you put HIDs in the running lamps?
  18. Do you need the HID Harness from DDM tuning when you install their 55 watt kit?
  19. ah i see. well will that screw up the pinion angle at all?why is it you cant get the stock parts back on there? is there cutting involved?
  20. Anyone happen to know of a place I can find a diagram of how the Rear Suspension is SUPPOSED to be? I think I have it figured out but would like to see which parts I can just go to the dealer and order.
  21. Gonna go completely stock route. I also wanna prevent shipping parts back and forth. I will sell the lowering kit as a whole once it's off the truck
  22. I know everyone thinks I should leave it but I have to raise it back up to stock height for various reasons. Wont mind spending the money once I have it all figured out. Labor will be done by me.
  23. It's Rwd no front axles. I'd appreciate of you could check the spindles that way I know!! Should be easy work once I know. Thanks everyone!!
  24. Maybe yall can answer. I have access to a 2004 AWD SS. Is the suspension the same? other then the AWD? I know I just need to replace the spindles up front. Is the rear leaf spring setup the same from 04 to 05? Regardless of AWD or RWD? If I have a reference truck this should be easy work.
