  1. You should have easily taken him unless he's hiding a bottle somewhere. Follow the advice here. A little more tuning and a stall & shift kit will definitely make improvements. How much psi are you running?
  2. I would love to have a 30th TA! I'm assuming the driver was a douche, which sucks, but don't hate on the LS1 4th gens, they do a lot of damage with only a cam
  3. Maybe it was a 366 BBC! LOL, good kills. Your truck sounds like it runs well.
  4. So you beat his Mustang and he sells it, buys a Vette (C5, C6??) and you want to beat his Vette on spray which ways 1/2 what your truck weighs?? I would say, if you're going to play his game, save the 15K (way low end IMO), to do a 408 TT or S/C with supporting mods (Trans, diffs, suspension), and find a C5Z already modded with well over 600hp and kill him with that. Unless you really don't like Vettes?? At least the car will have resale value. The mods into the truck are nearly worthless when it's time to sell the truck.
  5. Crazy truck! Needs to be kept in a vacuum sealed time-capsule! Congrats, good luck keeping the miles off that beauty!
  6. Red is decent, but hate the surround on the gauge cluster - doesn't work with the SSS gauges. The other one is classic used car lot. Of course you "must see" it....
  7. I need a set of these in 20's at all corners for my SS! Look great and lighter weight than all the standard shelf rims out there. Looking forward to seeing your new truck!
  8. Just found this thread. That looks clean and really nice! Any chance for the SS in red surrounded by blue bowtie?
  9. Ls1tech had a thread like this, and it's full of funny FAIL. I think this truck needs 10 CB whips and at least 4 more spoilers to complete the luck. Also, don't forget the lund hood scoops on top of lund hood scoops required up front to run with the big boys! I also fail to realize any thought process whatsoever in these vehicles. All that money could have went to a decent CAI and Cat-back - maybe even a set of Long-tubes.
  10. I included payment for an install kit as well. Let me know if I need to send extra $$ for Canadian shipping. Thanks again for the group buy
  11. Sounds like you have an excellent Tuner going to work for you
  12. I completely agree with the OP. Having said that, and coming from "communist Canada," not all regulations are terrible to have in place. I'm not sure why anyone needs an assault rifle aside from waging a war, but that's just my opinion. I grew up on the farm and we had all kinds of rifles, never needed an assault rifle (of course the gun registry has been contested in Canada since introduced 10 years ago and has been a complete waste of taxpayer's dollars-to which I agree). I can see that justification for pure sport or enjoyment, we have shooting ranges all over here in Canada where you can shoot almost anything you want. Then again, I'm generally opposed to all regulations since no matter how well intended, they restrict freedoms. I'm even against public health care. Here in Canada, our healthcare is garbage, qualified doctors are few and far between, wait times are killing people, and 95% of people are killing themselves with the food they eat every day. Which brings another point about regulations as brought up earlier. Food kills people!! Yes it does, and I just wish the food agencies that are supposed to protect the public would BAN all the garbage that is on sale in gas stations and grocery stores. I feel it's even more their responsibility in Canada since we all pay taxes (brutally high I might add) that covers healthcare for everyone (I would rather pay insurance on my own personal health care anyday). Speaking of responsibility...isn't that the real issue here?? Hold people accountable for their actions, hold them accountable for how they raise their children, how they store their weapons, even for the food or garbage they eat everyday. What happened in North America where no one is held accountable for anything anymore?? It scares me honestly.... /rant. Sorry guys! These types of things always get me going!
  13. 408 and MP122 was put together by Davenport in Calgary. Could use larger blower for sure. But this one is safe for the 408 and pump gas here in Alberta. If I wanted to spend a bunch of $$ I would look into a TVS 2300, but the truck has enough power for me. Going to work on the tune this spring, idle isn't quite what I would like and I like to use my HP Tuners to verify all parameters are where I'd like them.
  14. Another payment sent. Thanks for the group purchase!
  15. Probably won't make it closer than Edmonton to you. Looking forward to hearing how your truck performs!
  16. Mid12s, truck is a beast. Think I got a pretty good deal. There are some pics in the Member Introduction section : http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/81496-new-member-fort-kent-ab-canada/ It's no show truck, definitely could use a new paint job and has been driven year-round in Canada, so frame and suspension are rusty. Body is in good shape though, only one small pea size dent on driver door I am getting fixed in May. Sounds like our trucks would be a good race
  17. Where do I find an HD tensioner? I imagine I just swap the 8 rib pulley I have onto it. I bought the truck already built with the MP122. Not 100% on all differences, but a little research brought up slightly larger displacement (1.9 vs 1.8) and larger in size. I callipered the face of my pulley was 3.0". Also have the Innovators West overdrive crank. Hopefully the group buy also ships to Canada so I can go to a bigger coolant tank. TVS would make more power judging by the other forums. Will be changing the oil in my MP122 this coming weekend.
  18. +1 for Red Needles. This looks great. Is it just switching out the bulbs for LED's? If so, that a pretty simple change and not much $$.
  19. In case anyone is still following this. My truck came with the built 408 (AFR 225's), and MP122. Has the 8 rib setup but I see the belt walk one rib regularily on the tensioner. Curious as to what tensioner you guys are running? May need to upgrade mine further. BTW, no belt slip with 8 rib setup, approx 9psi, overdrive crank, and smaller super pulley (need to measure - will post once I have the diameter). Truck pulls strong past 6K rpms!
  20. This but also in if shipping via USPS to Canada is available.
  21. White would look awesome on an SSS! Makes me think how nice it would match my Camaro! I still think Jet Stream Blue Metallic (from C6 Vette) would look really nice on these trucks as well. Oh well, looking forward to seeing what color you go with. Will probably never paint mine unless I come into some serious disposable cash, and even then, the shop is getting built first and that will eat up a lot of $$. Think if I did paint it, would strip the truck down and repaint the frame and get rid of all the under body rust. Do a nice undercoat job that will last. I can hear the bank account groaning already!
  22. Easy, install Northstar 4.4 V8 w/supercharger, ported heads, CAI, and exhaust. LOL! My friends dad has a stock version of this car. They are sweet!
  23. I actually enjoy the stereo a lot more than I thought I would. Previous owner put in quality speakers all around and the subs add that nice oommphh that I haven't ever had before. I'm the same way, don't need to have it dialed out, just nice to have crystal clear sound and quality bass. I am glad it's in my truck though, as I couldn't justify putting a stereo in the Camaro and definitely not the Corvette(it has no radio, no heat, no A/C, lol). As for repaint, I would love to repaint my SSS in Jet Stream Blue Metallic, but I don't want to put that kind of money into the SSS right now (I think these trucks would look amazing in JSB though!).
