  1. My truck had the tool kit but no jack. I'm gonna pick one up but i was wondering where (and how) it stores in the cab. Thanks
  2. I have an '03 and there is a guy on my local CL selling the '05 efans. He claims there is a gain of 20+ hp. Is this true? He's asking 275 obo no harness though just fans in shroud.
  3. I gotta ask, what is the difference between these two plugs? I read through this thread kinda briefly and went ahead and bought the tr55ix and put them in. But now i see the tr5ix is what's recommended by NKG for my truck. The 5 is gapped at .40 and the 55 is .50. That gonna harm anything for me?
  4. Thats nice! I was kinda afraid you bought the one i passed on, it was in terrible condition. I knew it was gonna be, the moment i pulled up to this guy's "house" (aka corner lot fenced in body shop).
  5. I'm on the fence about using this in the transmission. Anyone see any reason not to?
  6. Taking it over to a buddy house tomorrow who has a nice lift in his garage. Its the 1st time I've changed any of the driveline fluids. But i'm a little confused. I thought there was just the front differential, transmission, and then the rear differential (pumpkin on the axle). Is there also a transfer case (or something else) in the mix? Does everything besides the transmission use the synthetic 75w/90? thanks
  7. I bought mine out of chicago too. At that time (2 months ago) there was another '03 SS, black, on CL that i looked at. It had 26" wheels. But Red was what i was really looking for.
  8. Shows what i know about the nnbs. I thought 07 introduced the nnbs and for whatever reason they sold a nbs in 07 and called it classic. So i assumed the 07 SS which is the same nbs as my 03 was now considered the 07 classic.
  9. According to this web page (ebay auction), it fits the 07 SS. Thats why i wanted to know what makes the 07 and 03 under hood different.
  10. I'm looking at the 152536 http://volant.com/edetail.asp?ID=461
  11. I'm looking at an ebay auction for the newest style volant cai box with the dry style filter and the "acrylic viewing window". When i check vehicle compatibility it is a go for the 07 SS but not my 03. Kinda thought they were the same as both are NBS (of course the 07 has the elec fans). Anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks Also, on a side note. What does a throttle body spacer actually do? I see volant makes one but i don't see the point of it.
  12. Like i said, i think all the craftsmanship is probably top notch. And I know everyone makes their SS their own. I'm sure this guy loves his just as much as I love mine. I just hate the sight of it lol
  13. http://www.truckinweb.com/features/1006tr_2003_chevy_silverado/ I'm all for customization. But for some reason i find this truck hideous. Low is always cool to me. And i know the tipped in rim stance is a trend right now but, please not for this truck. I'm sure the quality for everything is top notch but it just makes me
  14. Down side, seems to be a salvage title truck. Not mine, but i came across it while searching through ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-C-K-Pickup-1500-SS-2003-chevrolet-silverado-/190974783374?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2c76fbef8e&item=190974783374&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  15. Reminds me of this, which i would buy if it had your design. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-SS-R-Bowtie-Stainless-Steel-License-Plate-1329-3-/170192562764?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27a0446a4c&vxp=mtr
  16. I like the Iroc style rims that my truck has. So much that I bought another set in black for winter. I'm going from 275/30/24 (24"x10") Fullway summer tires (generic china tire but its actually pretty decent) to 305/40/22 (22"x9.5")Cooper Zeon LTZs (A/T type). They measure approx. 1 more inch in diameter (coming in at 31.5" tall compared to the summer combo at 30.5"). I also weighed them out of curiosity. Summer wheel at 86lbs and the new winter wheel at 91lbs. Thought they were gonna be heavier honestly. And yes i know, skinnier is better in winter. But I decided on having two sets of wheels, so I wasnt gonna bother with all-seasons on the "winter"set. And I wanted low profile, period. But these Zeon tires were about $240 each (shipped). Continental makes a winter tire at 275/40/22 at $403 each , the Nitto Grapplers (A/T type) 305/40/22 at about $300 each, and I did consider the Falken Ziex S/TZ-04 265/40/221 as i heard even though an all-season they were quite good in the snow and cheaper at about $200 each. But i just couldnt stop liking the look of these Zeon LTZs. Before After Oh, and the cost, $825 for the rims off ebay, $960 for the tires from tread depot.com, $36 for a set of 24 black lug nuts (ebay), $12 for a set of locking lugs (ebay), center cap stickers $12 (ebay), mount and balance was $120 at Tires Plus. Total $1965
  17. That silver looks great! Much better contrast than the grey.
  18. No problem downloading here either (Mac). I'd shoot everyone of these mother****ers by the way. You can blur the faces but you cant hide that accent. They shame my hispanic heritage. Also, every time I see a clone, thats all i can think too (no offense to legit clone owners). Does anyone here use a fuel cutoff system?
  19. I stumbled on this page a few years ago and its tire and rim size calculator is really handy. Its has two side by side wheels with the adjustments below so each you can see the differences to the changes you make. I just used it to figure out what i wanted for my winter tire and rim combo. http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
  20. I highly highly recommend treaddepot.com. I just bought a set of Cooper Zeon LTZ 305/40/22 tires on Wednesday. Tires were the lowest price I could find and the shipping was also the lowest I could find. Ups tracking says they should be at my house I Monday. So far I'm very satisfied!
  21. Thats a shame! How'd it happen? Off-topic but...holy hell! What size are those rims??
  22. I just can figure out why some people don't like the awd. On this site I've read guys changing over from awd to 2wd. Why have tons of hp when you can't keep the rear tires (usually with no weight over them anyway) from spinning. Burnout are fun but when you want to show who's faster gimme awd any day.
  23. Youre the second guy i've talked to with the same set that fit fine. Maybe its my truck thats screwy.
