If replacing the stepper motors doesn't pan out truck GM gauge guys or usspeedo.com for a whole new circuit board. I paid $165 for a whole new board. Would recommend GM gauge guys. They were highly helpful.

Bump if anyone has any they would like to get rid of please let me know.
-
I'm missing two center caps for stock SS rims. I've found a kit on ebay (i'm sure they are cheap plastic knockoffs) for under $75 for all four. If you've got some factory ones hanging around please let me know.

Replaced these last night. Was fairly easy with the solder pump. Replacing the lights with LEDs tonight. Thumbs up to the guys making the how to threads.

Probably a good sign that its your stepper motors. Not that hard to replace either. I picked up all 6 from amazon for 12 bucks and refrenced the "how to" section on it. Just a total of a couple hours and my cluster was back in and working like new. If it turns out to be something other than the stepper motors then you are only out the 12 bucks, but you will have a known good cluster. On my truck it was the speedo and the fuel gauge that went out.
Can you provide a link for what you just bought then? I don't mind doing the work myself. Read up a little more on the swap and seems easy enough.

So if my fuel gauge is stuck at the 2 position when turned off and goes to the 4-5 position when turned on (just filled up) save to assume my stepper motor's are going? Would it also explain why the tran temp only works sometimes?

Gorgeous truck.
As far as your choices of a new ride I say be leery of the CTS-V. Although motor wise not in the same class I have an 2008 CTS. I've had nothing but problems with the sunroof. The drains are constantly clogged up and magically come undone. Luckily it's still all covered under the certified warranty, but it has caused me and the wife to look into getting something else before it expires. My in-laws have an 09 CTS and their friend has an 08 as well. We all have the same problems with the sunroof drains.

I have the lower one the uppers are attached to a broken grill I thought they were removeable pics in my gallery
I'll have to pass. What I needed the most was the grill assembly as I don't have any of that. Thanks anyways though.

Makes you want to reach through the video and smack the kid upside the head. I can't imagine the ass whopping I would've gotten if I did something like that at any age.
I had to pause the video to see the blue SS. Would've never seen it if you hadn't pointed it out.

Truck is looking great with the new paint.

Yea certainly was a shame. I've spent a decent chunk already just trying to bring it back to normal. I still can't complain because of the purchase price. Will post up this weekend some changes I've made.

To the OP, being new to the truck myself first thing I've gotta say use the search button. Any ideas you might have, have probably already been discussed. For instance, I wanted to restore my SS to looking like an actual SS so I ordered the bumper cover. Didn't know it needed different brackets that cost more then the cover. You will find some great information here. As far as what to do first, I'd go with Blown 346 list up above. Almost matches exactly what I've done to this point.

I find it funny they don't show a screenshot of the LQ9 motor in that manual.

All set on the bracket front. Purchased a set from a member. Bump for the factory style grill. Will most likely just end up ordering from ebay at this point.

I'm not really local 3 states away and i looked up what they are worth brand new the bumper grill gos for 93.00 brand new and I'm not sure you can get the ones for the grill anymore I'm thinking 125.00 for all you drive also these are just the 3 grey diamond grills not the whole black grill
Oh are you not in Mass? Do you have any pictures of the whole assembly?
Sorry I been very busy at work but I will send you pix in the morning of the brackets.
All good. Life gets in the way sometimes.

The only thing I could offer is to have you try and call the guys that parting out their trucks and see if they have anything available.

Already tried that. No luck so far.
What would the upper & lower grey stock grills be worth
Not sure. Would $75 local pickup work?

Bump for any help

Looks good. Cree LEDs are the way to go. They are one of the best in the industry.
-
Any help here guys? Does anyone make aftermarket ones?
-
So I'm looking to purchase a factory 2003 SS grill upper and lower along with the SS bumper brackets. Also any pictures of where these brackets go exactly to the bumper would be great. (besides the diagrammatic ones) Looking for these particular GM part #s for the brackets:

^Couldn't agree more. CTS-V would be a fun ride.
-
I've also seen this ad near CT as well. Hate these types of guys.
-
Where did you get the rep rims from? Much better looking then the ones that were on there.

As far as the timing, typically it's for every 50 shot you add retard the timing 1-2 degrees. I think this would be your biggest problem. Might have to take the approach of having to invest in a tuning system for yourself, so you could upload a nitrous tune or a non nitrous tune. Or you stick with the tune for a 100 shot all the time if that's not feasible.
As far as activation, I got to ask if you are a track guy or more of a street guy. If you are going to the track quite often it but be worth a nice progressive controller. If it's more on the street I would think it's something you could live without. It's a great thing to have but not necessary IMO. Would be a personal preference thing. I had just a push button activation on a previous car for a street setup. Loved it at the time. I won't common on the other options of activation, as I'm still new to the truck so don't even know if it's a drive by wire setup.

I know this is sold, but I tried searching but didn't find much that was helpful. Can you expand upon what this is?
