my driver front tire had threw a belt and was wobbling like a turkey...new tires and it drives a tone better. I am going to lube my front suspension more frequently.

update: got bridgestone dulers alenza's
paid $850 with an alignment. Truck no longer shakes, can let go of wheel at 70 mph and it tracks straight! thanks for the advise, I am going to look for some summer light wheels now
and I'll get some summer tires

I have been meaning to look this up on HPT.com and see if there is any help for you...but the kids just started hockey and I have this problem (I forget tuning in the winter
)
thanks for the update, hope it is a simple part swap
-
$ for $ I would look for a supercharger, either a radix or a procharger. It will cost more up front but you will be better off(unless you are shotting for a time), I sometimes dream I saved and just got a box of parts rather than piecing stuff together.

a cam is not that hard. If you have the tools do it. take your time and enjoy the results. what do you think would be so difficult? we have alot of info and experience floating around here
-
and if you do all that you should just get a cam and not have a ton of stress on your valuetrain...Its just an easy way to get a little more valve lift and duration without going through all the work of a cam swap. Yes you will see some gains but should get a tune to get the full potential. While your in there you might as well upgrade the springs and retainers.

The 3.7 is n/a the 3.5 is turboed. It just drives me crazy thinking a n/a scsb v6 can keep up with a stock SS. Kinda nuts really.
do you know the ET of a camery?? (tip: dont find out
)
Those eco-boost engines are cool as shit...place here is getting them(eco boost tarus/flex) into tthe 12's with tune, CAI and exhaust....but the parts are crazy, the diameter of the eco-boost manifold is the size of a quarter!

what is the C6 oil pan mod?? sounds cool.

I lost my first egr plug on the way to meet up with a few memebrs here, ended up on the side of the road found a blot that I forced in and it has been there since.
I think the hardware is for the collectors and not the head studs, but it has been a lont time since I out mine on...I used old spark plugs to fill the extra o2 bung holes too, alot cheaper than buying actual bung plugs.
I re-used my oe gaskets and they have been fine since then (two years maybe) just dont mess with the layers or bend them...good lcuk with the install
-
is there full size pics so I can look at them harder and see if I can 'spot' the differance from afar??
I bet few diehards knew that the wheels were different

black trucks FTW
One is good, two is better!
I love how after 10 years these trucks still look badass
-
its intimidating that this post is from 2006!

Sorry I am slow, but your got twins! so what issues are you having?? I would love to see someone else get a twin ss up and running decent.
-
did you try and bench test the TB with a volt meter to see if you can force it to give you a shitty voltage?? I hate bad parts
Just went thru this with a project and I was running into crap and it ended up being my 'new' part.
good luck

so what is your expert opinion on the BW s400...As I read more and more about turbos I find the Ls1 is so efficient that they really like the bigger exhaust wheel...
-
I want to make an injector test stand cleaning tool, I have read thats it rather easy (battery and some sprak cleaner and a test tube) and would be cool to have for a situation like this. I drive my truck and am hesitant about doing a stroker( I have the spare build engine too!) and just the down time...but I loook forward to how your build turns out.

oe rockers can take a shit too, take it off and see if the bearing are still there
if they are broken then you just need to make sure you fine the pieces...then pull your drain plug and see if there is any crap on the oil pan maganet
glad you have it located to the valve train.

waiting to see if the tire store can get me the coopers i n a 305/50...
-
man the tread wear on the michilen's is like 700 compaired to the dulers 500 and the x-spec's 460...On tire rack they have some closeouts that are cheaper and nice tires.
-
Meth Injection. Add an A2A intercooler. the 160 t-stat is not going to do much with a blower pushing hot air into the engine.
-
I need tires bad. I am looking at the Michilen X radial and the bridgestone duler...I am leaning toward the more expensive michilen b/c it has a 70K warranty. Any other good durable all season tires I should consider??
I am looking at $216-$240 ea. w/o mounting Ouch.
I am gonna go back to on-line tire shopping

Granada Hills, alright cool I'll text chpspecial. would you know if he tunes via dyno? or chipset/handheld?
He uses EFI live and knows his shit. dyno is a tool, it can help but a good tuner will be good on the street. I like to think the street tuning gives you better drive-ability b/c you are tuning in the exact conditions.
I would get your handheld unlocked and then you could use it too run two tunes, but I bet if you had a good tune in it you would just rock it till you want more power or break some junk
-
I would guess the lifters are beat. the rockers are putting more pressure/leverage on them so I could see them losing pressure at higher rpm's. does it tick after starting it up after sitting for a few days???
-
converter and build the trans...keep saving and buy a radix/procharger(psc-1)
and tuning will be a must.
and as others mentioned becareful, it can become a money pit

there are two radixs kits on pt.net and that would be proven, reliable power!
