  1. I live in Mn. If you store it in a heated area you don't have much to worry about except maybe adding some sta-bil to the fuel and disconnecting your battery. If you are going to store it in a unheated place then I suggest .... Removing to battery and bringing it in the house so it doesn't freeze, if it's liquid cooled drain the cooling system and fill with a mixture of anti-freeze (between 50/50 and 70/30), fill the tank and add stab-bil to the fuel and Close peckock (if it has a mechanical one), and if you have stands store it on stands. And Try to resist the urge to start it up. Just let it sit all winter.

  11. Thanks for the warm welcome! It is a pretty nice truck. The inside is mint...seriously looks new . The exterior is nice too except it's had rear wheel openings done on it and they could have done a better job with the finish work. To many sanding marks and orange peel for my liking. I'm hoping a good wet sanding and buff/Polish will clear it up. The average bear wouldnt notice but it still bothers me lol. I'm not so sure how I feel about the tonneau cover yet. I actually put it in Craigslist yesturday. I kinda like they way it looks but I hate the extra weight. It's gotta be 200lbs or more. That's like rolling around with two ladies ... All the time. It's a raider lowrider... Anybody local want it? I think I'd rather a have a nice low profile/flush mount roll up or folding tonneau cover. It would be a bunch lighter and I'd also be able to use the bed.
  12. Hello gang, My name is Ben. I live in Bloomington Mn which is a southern burb of Minneapolis. I'm 31 yrs old. Auto Mechanic by day , Realtor by night&weekend. I'm a excited new owner of a 2003 Victory red Silverado SS. This was kind of a spur of the moment purchase for me. As of Wednesday morning of last week I had no serious intention of buying a new... To me vehicle anytime soon, especially not a SSS. Don't get me wrong , ive always been a huge fan of GM's SS line of vehicles and ive wanted one of these SSS's since they came out with the new design in 2003. So Last Wednesday I get to the shop to start my day and walk in to a black 2003 SSS sitting on a hoist. My eyes lit up immediately! I started looking at it right away before I even changed into my uniform. Being able to see it , feel it and sit in it got my mind going and It reminded me how much I've always wanted one. I starred at it throughout the day. Then I heard that the customer had just bought it on eBay and had it shipped from California. I thought "that's odd, this thing isn't that nice , why didn't he just buy one here?" He must have got a good deal on it to go through all that trouble. Especially since he ok'd $2k worth of service on it that day. Anyway that got me thinking and I hoped on Craigslist to see what they were going/asking for. There were 5 of them listed locally ranging from 10k to 16k. I didn't think much of it for the rest of the afternoon. But when I got home the SS was still on my mind . I started looking on Craigslist again and going through google pictures. I was thinking "man it would be cool to get my hands on one someday". I thought about it more and more. Finally started messing with a auto loan payment calculator late in the evening Wednesday just to see what to expect ... For that someday. After seeing some numbers and going through things in my head I realized "wow I can afford that". I still didn't think it was a possibility though... Getting approved and all that . But one ad on Craigslist was a 2003 Victory Red SSS sitting at a Chrysler dealer about a 40 minute drive from me. It looked super clean and the ad said it was clean. The ad also said they offer financing and wanted trades. I Thought about it more and more, trying to figure stuff out and tried to guess what my possible trades would be worth. Keep In Mind I have no money saved for a new purchase like this and it was a completely random unplanned idea or possibility. On top of that I figured there would be a pretty slim chance I could even get a loan. But I figure what the heck ... Give it a shot. I respond to the ad saying I'm interested in the SS and that I have 2 vehicles I could possibly trade (96' Z71, 01'saab 9-3) but I'm unsure about being able to get financed. The salesman responds back around promptly at 9:30 Wednesday night. He tells me he'd like to see my z71 and that they work with 15 lenders for financing. So Thursday morning I went on their website and applied for a loan. Much to my surprise I Got pre approved instantly for far more than I needed. I was like "no way!" I knew to take the pre approval with a grain of salt because it's more of a pre screening than a approval. But it was a good sign none the less. I called the salesman to let him know and arranged to make the 40 min trip later that day to check out the SS. Once I got there I still liked it. Then took it out on a test drive and that went well. So I decided to move forward. At that point They ran my credit for real, and much to my surprise I was actually legitimately approved! We did some haggling back and forth on pricing but by about 6pm Thursday I was driving home in my new SS! So in about a 24 hr window I went from not having a purchase on my mind at all, to owning a 03' SSS. I'm thrilled, didn't see this coming at all ! I'm excited to connect with this group of fellow SSS & TbSs owners and admirers!
