  1. Ok. So I'm starting to piece together my exhaust for my truck. I'd like to run some Dynatech's into dual cutouts into hi flow cats into stock catback. Im assuming if need 3" cutouts since that's what size the headers are and I'm bolting them as close to them as possible. What do I need to do for gaskets on the headers and plug wires? Will stock fit or do I need to get aftermarket? I'd like the truck to be quiet and I'm only concerned with performance when the cutouts are opened. Obviously I'm getting it tuned. Through zippy. Does this sound like s good idea?
  2. I'm stock right now, but my plan is to stay stock after the cats. Keeping things quiet and sleeperish is my goal.
  3. Honestly when I get some more funds, I'll put dual cutouts before some hiflow cats and then just lead into stock exhaust. That way I can still be quiet when I want or obnoxiously loud if I want.
  4. I've been looking at these as well. I know someone that uses this brand on his 700hp duramax and has never had problems.
  5. I agree with this. That "cregslist" ad gave me a headache trying to read. And I never saw a picture of the truck.
  6. ^^ this. Always solder and heat shrink when you can.
  7. Yeah. I will never do that again. I had to do it just once to get it out of my system. I knew something would break as I've had transfer case and tranny problems recently so now I think they're all broken. But I have money to fix it so now I have an excuse to upgrade stuff:)
  8. Yes. My house got 9 but that's the most I've ever seen in my 20 short years that I can remember. It was awesome. The truck handled amazing offroad in the snow and ice. But its idling at real low rpm's today and I think I may have broken a front axle....
  9. I took this yesterday. We had some awesome snow in Alabama this week. I know itsnt an sss, but the Denali is basically the same thing right?
  10. Yeah hook the grounds to metal somewhere. Not the battery. Also make sure it's actually metal or it'll cause radio imterference like mine is currently doing
  11. If you decide to do it post a video of how it sounds. I'm wanting to do the same thing this summer to mine.
  12. I'm living in north alabama, and to me it's cold as sh*t here. But I've also lived here all of my life and I swear it's the coldest winter we've ever had. Hence the reason I plan to move to Florida after medical school
  13. 5.3L? I don't know much about Joe Gibbs trucks, but that doesn't sound right to me. Especially if he's claiming 425 horsepower... I retract my last statement. I always assumed the joe Gibbs trucks were just a tricked out version of the ss since they look almost identical.
  14. Jeezus. My friends always compliment my stock AWD launch and how it throws their heads back. I could only imagine the neck-snapping capabilities if you need drag radials on all four tires. That must be an awesome feeling.
  15. And I also forgot to add in the most important thing... a tune!! haha. Plus e-fans.
  16. So I started adding up the time to save up money, helper mods that need to be done, etc. and I figured out that I won't be able to afford a supercharger until after medical anyways. My plans are to go with a level 7 flt transmission in the next few months and then I'm going to start with the exhaust. I plan to do ARH catted long tubes with dual 3" QTP wireless cutouts into a corsa catback. These two mods alone (plus new header bolts and all installation) is going to run mwe upwards of 8 grand if I'm lucky. Thats 4k for the transmission (not including install or shipping) and 3k for exhaust (probably includes installation and shipping). So after that I plan on doing a complete teardown of the engine and refreshing it so to speak. I'd like to bore it out .030 over with new forged internals so that alone is going to be way more than I can afford until I actually become a doctor. Then after all of that is said and done I plan to run the Vinci trucker cam and then supercharge it all at the same time. It'll be many years until i can hear that whine, but I know that some day I will. That will be a glorious day. Who knows, with the truck already at 170K miles and counting, I may need a completely new engine by then.
  17. Gotcha. I'm wanting to do a supercharger build but Im going for a sleeper so I got scared haha. I'd like it to believable when I tell people it's a bad power steering pump.
  18. Is it really that loud? Or is that just because the engine was cold? I'm talking about the actual supercharger whine.
  19. Wow. Never knew that haha. Sorry for hijacking your thread lol. GLWS!
  20. Really? I am too! I honestly didn't know there was any ss's here.
  21. Kaze_v8, I think I can get 30k more out of mine to hit 200k but thatll be really pushing it. Evand, I've heard too many horror stories from performanuilt. Go look at some of the threads on here and you'll see what I'm talking about. No way will I be going through them.
  22. ^^you and me both... I'm having to talk myself out of it because I need a transmission and exhaust and an engine refresh done first.
  23. Where are you located?? That's my area code haha
  24. My goal is enough power to get me in to the 12's in the quarter. Most likely through a cam, supercharger, and complete exhaust including arh headers and a corsa catback with dual wireless cutouts. Obviously that's not a complete list but those are the major components. I'd guess somewhere are 5-600 horsepower maybe? Does it shift hard? I've heard that the harder they shift the longer they'll last because smooth shifts are actually just the trans slipping just a tad.
  25. We'll flt emailed me back after I asked the exact same thing and they recommend the level 6. Theres such a huge price difference between the 5 and 6 though! $1100 to be exact. I'm sure they know what they're talking about too. I guess if I'd be spending that much already what's another $600 for the level 7?
