  1. Thanks for all the kind comments everyone! I am really proud of my SS and glad to be a member of this SS community. The lawn is a bit long, isn't it? This project has actually been a necessary break from our current situation. My wife and I are currently buying a new house in the area and have spent the last several weeks preparing our current home for sale. All the hard work paid off as we had a contracted offer after only four days on the market! The installation of my new grills and duct surrounds were a little reward to myself. Darn yard was only mowed/edged five days ago... back out to the yard now, for some necessary yard maintainance! Thanks again to everyone!
  2. Just to be clear, this is for the 2229 set. I know the front bar is no match for an SS or a 4x4. The rear bar works with the SS to the best of my knowledge. As for mileage, maybe a couple hundred miles. I drive my truck to and from work only, 4 miles a day max, 5 days a week. I'm getting rid of them as a set as I thought I'd have more luck that way... otherwise, I'd use the rear bar myself. Thanks for your interest!

  6. Woo Hoo! That's awesome! Count me a contender.
  7. Nope, you're right. I have one as well as my SSS. 303hp. Pretty damn quick.
  8. "During the heyday of the muscle car, three digits struck fear into the hearts of challengers who found themselves unlucky enough to sidle up next to a Chevy wearing the badge 427. The badge is back on the Silverado 427 – a concept vehicle that demonstrates a tangible extension of the new Silverado’s performance parameters. The Silverado 427 is powered by GM Powertrain’s 7.0-liter LS7, the same Gen IV small-block V-8 that is the center of power in the Corvette Z06 and available as a “crate engine” package from GM Performance Parts. Its cubic-inch displacement is 427. A six-speed manual transmission backs the engine, providing the driver with full control of the vehicle’s substantial capability. 9. Alright. I guess I'll prepare for the inevitable flames which will head my way... I like the sound of Flowmaster 40's. I currently have dual 40's on my truck, side exit before the rear wheel. Loud. VERY loud. Doesn't mean I don't love it. Problem is of course, it is resonant. My wife can't stand the level of sound coming from the truck or the in cab resonance. Question I've got here: Is there anything I can do to lower the noise level and resonance a little? Would an X-Pipe help? Some other kind of resonators? Should I just look at Super 40's? Or am I really stuck with loud if I want duals and the flow 40 sound? I do plan to add pacesetters and highflow cats sometime in the next year... is there some other dual setup which will give me a sick grumbly sportscar like sound? I want to hear the engine audibly at all times, not just WOT. I just don't want it screaming at all times...
  10. GMI has the Motortrend pics. No change in the drivetrains from today's offerings for now, but looks like the Extended Cab has roll down windows for the back seat.

  13. Silver Birch? Just bought a 2006 Silver Birch last week! Congrats! They're truly beautiful trucks. I've not heard much about the Hushpower Flows. most guys on here seem partial to Corsa or Magnaflows. I still love the sound of a good old 40 myself.
  14. Just dropped by 1431 and Parmer for a couple hours. Quite a nice gathering! I hope we can all get out there together some night....
