  1. Started her up today after a long week of work and working on her. Runs great! Next on the list is transmission service with better trans pan and rear differential service with TA girdle cover. Still need to flush the brakes and the power steering fluid.

  2. Ravelco has been around a long time, and it seems to work very well but you may have mixed experiences based on which installer you use. Try to get some referrals/testimonials out of them if you can, and verify them.

I've got a pager alarm on mine, with the tilt sensor. Of course only good if you're in range and paying attention to the remote. I worked with the installer to try harder to bury the unit so it wasn't just behind/under the dash for a thief to open up my truck and rip out the alarm with ease.

Also replaced factory door handle with a keyless Escalade handle so that might (might) slow down the screwdriver operators.

Wouldn't mind if you sent me your installers info

  3. Two days ago took delivery of a 2006 Intimidator SS. She has 82k on the clocks and was taken care of. I just finished going over her and made a list of stuff I am going to do. She is going to be my daily. Wifey is already jealous that I'm spending too much time on another.

  4. Found another one today. Great Mileage and Body condition...But there were begining signs of rust on the chassis and some body panel seperation on the lower panels on the underside of the truck due to the rust. A protectant was used on the chassis but I fear it was to late.

  5. I inquired on that truck while searching for an SS. When the dealer originally offered it. I said to myself "damn thats a great price especially for the mileage". I had them send me photos of the truck and I noticed that the motor had been modified. "LSX fast intake, headers etc". I kept inquiring about the truck and was told that the dealer was going to remove the motor and sell the truck cheaper.

  6. Looking into picking up a 2006 ISS fully loaded with 110k for $16k +TT&L. Truck has spent it's entire life in Florida. This will be my first SS but not my first GM vehicle. I clearly understand that a truck of this age and mileage is not going to be perfect. But, I also don't want to pay for a money pit. I have had my share of money pits in my lifetime (Exotic Motorcycles).

The truck has a few issues that I can overlook. But, there are a few that may be a deal breaker. There is a lot of surface rust on steering and suspension components, driveshaft and rear differential. Like I said before I may be worrying for nothing. I would just like a second opinion. I will before the year is over be lowering the truck a little maybe 2" F&R and also will be freshening up a few other steering and suspension components.

Do you believe I will have an issues with the mentioned components at least for a year?

  7. I was emailing back and forth with the seller, since I was in the market for an SS. He appears to be a straight up guy. Sent me the carfax info and told me a little about the truck. I would have loved to get a love mileage SS but like most know the majority of banks and credit unions included won't fiance a truck from this age regardless of the low mileage for the amount he is asking. Shame really it looked like a very good truck.
