  19. I been there. I started as an union electrician at 18 yrs old in 1978 and first couple of years work was good, by 1982 times went bad for a few years the union canceled the apprentice program and I went out and went to work for a non-union company and worked was on and off for a few years then by 1986-87 work got back to full time, I went for owning my own company for a couple of years back to working for others. In between time I tried other things I had my own Martial Art Studio which is one of my hobbys which really didn't make alot of money but held its own. Anyway I worked as a electrician making good wages and supporting my family and taught Martial Arts in the evenings for myself and at other studios. Did this until the year 2000, were I applied for the State of Washington as a Electrical Inspector and have been doing there since. Although I love teaching Martial Arts I had to make a living, so its all what your happy with, go with your gut of whats going to be good for you, I make enough to have my toys and to travel and still work out and teach. Clay
